  1. That's a great idea - I'm moving the third week of June. I was going to wait to put this together until after the move, but I think I like your son's plan. Put it together, take it apart, and mail it to my new place so it gets there the same time I do. Like getting it twice!
  2. So not in stores in the US. Ok, thanks!
  3. Will this be available in actual Lego stores on June 1st? This may have been answered but I can't find it. The only thing I can see is that it is available on Shop@Home on June 1st, and in stores on July 1st. I am moving in early June and am not sure it would arrive through the mail before I move if I order it through S@H.
  4. I don't post on here much at all, but I have an off-topic statement. I'm amazed at the fact that in about a day and a half of effort, it seems like you guys have crowd-reverse-engineered what probably took a certified Lego designer a few weeks or months to come up with. I'm amazed at how quickly you all have come up with credible plans, just by analyzing a few not-so-great photos. Bravo!

  6. I just ordered (i'm very busy and can't surf the internet all the time) and my order number is Y3079319XX which is interesting because it's actually a lower number than some of you who ordered it way before me. I wonder why that is...
  7. On a real motorcycle the tire treads actually go in opposite directions. It's because the rear wheel drives the bike forward, so the tread is set up to apply force against the ground toward the rear of the bike. The front tire provides most of the stopping power, so the tread is set up to apply force against the ground toward the front of the bike. (This is a VERY simple explanation, and I'm sure someone who has a physics or engineering background is cursing me right now). So LEGO has actually made it realistic instead of "looking right".

Does anybody else like Motorcycles around here?

I went out for a short ride yesterday, and it was glorious! I have three bikes - a Buell XB12X Ulysses that's my daily driver, a Kawasaki KLX250S for trails, and a Triumph Daytona 675 for the track. I love motorcycles, and if I had to give up every other hobby (Lego, photography, etc.) I would in a heartbeat, to keep at least one motorcycle.
  9. Thanks for the feedback! I think I'll get the flatbed if it's in the store. If not, I'll go with the backhoe. Or I might just buy whatever the heck pops up and looks good... When I have cash, I tend to make random purchases!
  10. Ok, I'm heading to the Lego store Saturday to buy the 8110 Unimog. I'll have some extra cash with me, so should I go with the 8069 Backhoe Loader or the 8081 Extreme Cruiser? I could also swing the 8109 Flatbed Truck if I use some VIP Points. What do you all think?

    The Eurobricks Reviewers Academy

I'd like to join the Academy. How much time does it take? I have this stupid "job" thing going on that allows me to buy Lego, but it also takes up so much time...
  12. 8043 is on its way! It should arrive tomorrow. :thumb up: And TechnicFreak - I won't wait too long for the Unimog. Maybe a month or two...

    What are you reading?

Right now - Hew Strachan's The First World War, and parts of numerous other World War I books. I teach military history, and we're in the Great War era...

    21102 LEGO CUUSOO Minecraft

The online comic strip Penny Arcade has a comic today about Minecraft Lego: The text isn't up yet, but it will be interesting to see their take on it, (outside of the comic strip).
  15. Thanks for all the replies! Looks like 8043 is a better bet. Is it safe to assume the Unimog will be around for another year or so?
