  7. May I ask is the good doctors prognosis of stab wounds a solid observation that could be tied in to another story? Edit ... Now that im not short on time ... I love the busy feel to this alot of good angles to capture the feeling of a larger space. The general store is well done as well as the room above. Would you share how you accomplished the clap board in this photo?

    2018 Lego Trains

25 cm is not far but if each train on the layout used a ETD or FRED with a red brick instead of a led ... Theoretically the sensor could slow the train to a stop to avoid collisions correct? While it would not look prototypical it would be functional at least. You say there is two ports so one could face forward and one down at the track and each train have a deadicated unit? Or am I misunderstanding (I understand the custom coding part)
  12. Now that there is a better understanding of the mechanics I think they work for now ? Simple answer yes. Can they be improved upon? Also yes. Do I have the answers currently? No I've actually thought of this... Im unsure how to properly tie it into the current mechanics. Off the top of my head I would think to have a option pop up on the black flag form. Allowing you to sail under "other" colors. Perhaps a monitary subtraction on top of upkeep? Obviously during any action you would have to be black. But while in route you could "sail past" a patrol but afterward until you a) left the zone or b) arrived at a haven port you would be black. Im not saying to simply allow attacks more so make it "harder" to patrol for "pirates" Im not sure if a dice roll could be used for identification of a known pirate sailing under other colors when passing a patrol. Perhaps even number failure to identify odd they identify? I'm not sure a 50/50 is the right odds for that. Piracy and sinking was the two main issues back then ... I would hate to see us engineer it out of the game. Im not sure how to work it but these were just raw thoughts.

    Flying Scotsman on BBC!

This was built as a static model from what I read so alot of modifications ... but good to see it in a proper display.

    9V tracks smell of cigarettes

Good old fashion hydrogen poroxide (sp?) I would have to look at the bottle but it takes the odor out of the plastics and brightens them. Just let them soak completely covered overnight (some say 8 hrs in the sun but overnight does just as well) a good warm water rinse towel pat and air dry before use. Tried and tested method.
  16. This is good info to use ... I am attempting to procure a set of rods from him currently lol. I know talk of scale modelers that say the orientation matters ... You get more detail across then lengthwise of the filliment plastic. Also that you can dictate if your model gets printed alone or with others. It is odd to me that the color would be so different across such a little span. One day I may use them then again one day I may just break down and buy a printer lol
  17. This is a beautiful model the dark green works well ... I personally think the only other color that would have done it justice would have been royal blue. I love the rods ... How difficult was it to design these? (also have you designed parts before?) How did you like the shapeways ... Ive heard mixed results in the scale train world just wanted your experience.
  18. But that wouldnt be right ... If you look at famous pirates it was common to fly another flag then raise the black during an action then put it away to sail as a normal ship ... Anti piracy patrols would have to board the ship and find a flag ....

    Hot weather and building lego

Google lego ice cube molds ... Several vendors sell them .... As to your original question. Most of my lego is semi transportable .... So if im working with particular colors I drag the organiser to the living room lol ... Unfortunately you have to be able to pick up the "mess" unless you have an understanding partner, are single,or have no young children. I also make several trips back to the lego room lol. But lucky for me the partner in crime likes legos (kinda got her hooked)
  21. Thanks I'll have to check them out!

Small layout on a door - now completely custom!

Thanks ... Yea im primarily on mobile lol rarely on a computer ... First time I logged in to the laptop on EB I was like what are these awesome build links for people I had been interacting with for months lol
  25. It all depends on the store ... Sometimes its worth paying .11 for the brick as opposed to .02 because of the sellers S&H price. There is a particular store I order large orders from in germany and its about 10- 17 shipped but im spending 50 -80 dollars in parts and pieces ... And they always split my orders into smaller boxes for me to keep the costs down and usually customs doesnt question. Oddly its 7-12 for my average US order and 15-20 for Canadian .... And thats to northern Indiana ... I dont think Ive ever ordered less than 30 parts at a time lol My orders from Germany take 12 days. My Canadian take 14-17. My US take 2-7 days on average.
