  1. I ordered June 1st in the morning, and received it July 2nd. So a month of waiting for me.
  2. Looks quite complex what you came up with there. Unfortunate that my suspension mod does not work with the steering mod. Although I doubt that I am finished with it either way. There still were some flaws that I only realized today I should probably fix. In my mod the shocks are always compressed at least a little bit. This means that there is more pressure on the springs themselves, which could lead to damage in the long term. Or in the very least it would wear the springs out more quickly. I also want to wrap my head around Ackermann steering as a concept, since I don't fully understand it yet. And then I may make my own implementation of it. After that I would like to try making rear wheel steering. That is something that I see people mention a lot when mentioning what features are missing from the Porsche. But perhaps I am getting a bit ambitious with all of this. I also still have my model of Lockdown that I want to finish sometime. But that's a different story altogether.
  3. For something to test out the SBrick, it looks pretty nice and has a surprising amount of functions. I just wish I could justify buying enough LEGO electronics to make something like this. But all in all it would be over 100 euro's just for that alone.
  4. So it is true that they redesigned the truck as mentioned in the interview.
  5. Yes, but that turned out to be not true at all. It was available in pretty much all LEGO stores around the world, not just in Germany and Austria. And whomever ordered from S@H got a month+ delay because of the packaging.
  6. From what I gathered from the interviews, it sounds like they do look at MOCs. Either for inspiration, or to go in a different direction instead.
  7. In the interview I think they mentioned that that pin was chosen for building reasons. I believe you attach the panel to that frictionless pin first, and than swing it back and attach it on the other pin. Looking at the instructions again, and it does not explicitly tell you to do it, but I guess they wanted you to do it that way. The panel does not slide over the wheel arch completely, so you need to attach one of the two pin holes before the other. Still a pretty lame reason to use a frictionless pin though.
  8. It could be that you are not pulling the paddles far enough. When I first built my Porsche, the only thing that I modified was the step 5 friction fix, and the shifting worked as intended as long as I pulled the paddles all the way.
  9. That piece should not be engaged from the looks of it. I can see that the one on the other side is engaged, and only one should ever be engaged at any time. It is skipping because of resistance. Make sure the orange 2l liftarms with the links that go to the red changeover catches are at a 90 degree angle.
  10. You did nothing wrong Banone, that is expected behavior with the differential. The resistance the gearbox exerts on the differential is greater than that of the other wheel axle. Therefore the differential will not move. Try it again, but while holding the other wheel axle.
  11. I did test it with the body yes. And the shocks are not compressed that much actually. Here is a comparison. Before: After: And I cannot turn around the half pins on the suspension arms. Or if I would, I'd have to modify the way they are attached to the chassis. This is because the liftarm that the lower suspension arms are attached to would interfere with the half pins. Maybe this mod would work with the Ackerman steering mod, but I have not looked into that enough. And I would want this mod to work without any other mods too. And for anyone wondering - here are the added parts. I removed the four 3l axles with stops and half bushes, but those axles could just as well be used in place of the axles I used here. And the half bushes could be used in place of the 2l thin liftarms that I used. Both reducing the required parts even more. Edit: As it turns out, the half pins are not as much in the way as I expected. That is at least when you have the stock steering limiters in place. That is to say the 3/4 pins attached to the gear rack hitting the orange (+o) liftarm. When the steering wheel is at either extreme position, the half pins from my mod only push the gear rack slightly and it does not limit the steering any more than the stock limiters.
  12. This is what I came up with for improving the clearance in the front. It works without the body and without a stopper as well, although the rims will touch the upper wishbone pieces when steering, but not to a point where it stresses the rims or wishbone pieces and could cause harm. With this mod applied, and the body back on the chassis, the front shocks have about as much travel as the rear ones. Edit: I quickly discovered that the half pins limit the travel of the gear rack somewhat. Perhaps there is another way to secure the L-shape thin liftarms to the wishbone pieces?
  13. It bothered me that the clearance of the final model was so bad. Especially in the front. That is why I decided to modify the front suspension. And this is the result. With this mod the front suspension has just about as much travel as in the rear, which is much better in my opinion. Edit: I quickly discovered that the half pins limit the travel of the gear rack somewhat. Perhaps there is another way to secure the L-shape thin liftarms to the wishbone pieces?
  14. If you have a tablet I would recommend that. I found that better than sitting at my already cramped computer desk
  15. It is not unusual to find some regular Lego in Technic sets though. Some sets have more of it than others, but still. Like the Porsche. It uses system parts for the grille, lights, and dashboard.
  16. Currently watching your vid right now. I am still at the part that was also in Fernando's video. Scratch that. Did not catch on to the fact that both are a video of the same interview, but in a different order. I already watched the whole thing if that is the case. Oh well... But I have to say, your audio is much better. You can really tell that you used a better mic for it.
  17. It says that you posted this today, but I could have sworn that I have seen this exact post before. Either way, it is a great looking super car.
  18. I did see that fix, yes. I have not tried it yet, as I did not like how the rims would rub against the wishbone pieces. But I did not see your edit. I might try it tonight then. Although I want to come up with a more sophisticated solution. But that may take me some time.
  19. The shocks are the same as the regular yellow ones, only molded in red.
  20. When I first saw the photos I did not expect it to have PF. Great job.
  21. Web developer here. Mainly Javascript.
  22. To me it just sounds crazy how many pieces some of you have. All my pieces fit into 1-2 storage containers that I have under my bed. And I can't say they are full to the brim or anything. So if I had to guess how many parts there were in my collection, it would be probably around 15.000. And that is including my recent purchases of the Arocs and Porsche. Most of my collection consists of pieces from Bionicle that I collected during my childhood. Right now I don't really have a proper Lego workplace. The Arocs I built on my desk, where I also use my computer. So it does not have nearly the amount of space that I needed. And having to look down a lot during the building process made my neck hurt a lot. So I built the Porsche on the dining table in our kitchen. Much more space, and it is a little higher, so less neck pain. My pieces are stored in 8 horizontal storage units, with 5 compartments each. And I am really looking to replace those with vertical storage units with lots of drawers. When I build MOCs I lay out the 8 storage units on my bed and use that as a workplace. That is the largest, somewhat flat, place that I have in my room at the moment. That means I can't leave the stuff on there when it is time to sleep, so at least I can't "forget" to clean up. I am moving into a larger room soon though. Right now that room is completely empty so we still have to put up wallpaper and put in the floor. But hopefully I can create a better workplace in that room. This thread is great to get inspiration for a proper workplace, but if anyone has any other tips for creating a good, spacious, desk workplace where I can also use my computer, I am all ears.
  23. I believe someone posted that response on this forum earlier. And I believe the conclusion from that was that their explanation made no sense. Someone checked the gears, and there were no more gears engaged with the 'correct' sequence as there were with the out-of-the-box sequence.
  24. So I implemented a few of your modification including the 90 degree limiter, and I cannot recommend doing it after you have already built the entire set . It was a real chore to get back to where I had to add the limiter. I may just rebuild box 1 in its entirety when I have the time and implement all the great modifications that have been made. I did have to add another rubber band to the limiter for it to actually stay at 90 degree intervals. Otherwise it would stay at 45 degrees. But that may be because I was not exactly gentile when building the thing On another note, and I may have to ask this in the mods and improvements thread as well, but has anyone thought about making the front wheels higher. The clearance is really, really terrible when the body is attached. So much so that you can barely compress the front shocks at all. I may try it myself, but then again, time is my most limiting factor, as well as skill at this point.

    REVAMP: Skull Basher

I like it! The legs give him an overall Minotaur vibe to me.
