I ran out of places to put LEGO
Space Police XVIII replied to BirdOPrey5's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You're not out of space until your ceiling is covered in baseplates and your neck aching from building upside down. -
Oh, NICE design. Legs especially.

This seems like it's getting worse. I've got a small collection of broken pieces by now, mostly 1x1 tiles and 1x1x2/3 slopes, and I've gotten paranoid about ever using dark blue flags. Last week I bought a small Iron Man set. His torso was cracked down the sides.

Headcanon says, this is a Distant Sky Survey team. These guys are the third line of space exploration, dispatched wherever long-range scanners and robot probes discover something that needs human eyes on the scene. The ship is unarmed, I think of those pokey bits in front as parts of the hyperdrive system. All the greebling is supposed to be sensors and, hopefully, enough stealth gear to keep the ship out of trouble. There's an opening ramp, and the roof's designed to come off. Interior is a mess of equipment and stale coffee cups. Behind the scanner operator's station, there's just enough cargo space for a little rack holding two carbines and a spare lifesupport pack, and a box for, apparently, the severed head of some alien. I've been meaning to build these guys a proper ship for a while, and finally got around to it..thanks for looking!

Is anyone else fearing that Nexo Knights is meaning NO new castle them
Space Police XVIII replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I really like the idea personally. I've been building space equipment for my Knights, planning on remaking the Fortrex into a spaceship, etc., so I'd love to see it.Plus the complaining would be epic. NEXO KNIGHTS IS THE WORST THING EVER NOW WE'LL NEVER GET A PROPER SPACE THEME -
Complete or not, nice find for the price. Your 'usual junk' photo has actual Lego in it. The H-in-a-circle piece is from Hero Factory, I forget its official name.

I missed out on Power Miners but those monsters were awesome, I'm hoping we'll get similar. -
Ghostbusters 2016 Reboot discussion
Space Police XVIII replied to Kaanere's topic in Culture & Multimedia
why do you hate women This requires that an army of internet misogynists materialized out of nowhere, hated on Ghostbusters, then dissipated into thin air. That makes no sense.Nothing else got this same kind and intensity of backlash. Meanwhile a great many movies, with leading actresses, did quite well. What happened around this steaming pile is unique. Remember what happened with Leslie Jones? She got trolled hard. She responded to every one of those trolls. Then she got trolled harder. Now, those misogynistic comments on youtube and the like..what do you think will happen when one of those guys notices, now he can get quoted in an article showcasing misogyny, now he can get retweeted by the director? The actual amount of misogynistic commets, compared to the total, is stupidly tiny, but they made for a wonderful bogeyman. Oh of course it was misogyny, and a great unprovable blob of internet haters, the alternative is that a crappy movie with horrible marketing failed as badly as it deserved. Paint it as misogyny and fragile egos are salved, shareholders appeased and all is well. Feig, the cast and Sony's marketing team didn't just feed the trolls, they served up a ten course buffet and set up megaphones. You are not seeing a massive misogynistic hate campaign. You're seeing marketing. I hate that sort of underhanded manipulative crap, and I hate it when people fall for it. This thread's depressing. At least the box office shows it mostly didn't work... anyway, JBricks mentioned a good video on the last page, it's worth watching, , I'm out, cheers.edited because English difficult,eh -
Ghostbusters 2016 Reboot discussion
Space Police XVIII replied to Kaanere's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Yup, the misogynists have won. It was misogynists all along. So.... where's the hate for Suicide Squad? Where's the hate for The Phantom Menace? There's a Wonder Woman movie coming out. This is unconfirmed, but I heard the title character is a woman. There should be a massive hate campaign against that, right? where is it? edit: aw crap I meant the Force Awakens -
[HELP] Disassembling A MOC
Space Police XVIII replied to Lego2016Lego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Partially and temporarily. Pull it apart just enough to make a full part inventory, buy replacements off bricklink. -
Yeeeaaah. Kind of evil, isn't it. We'll probably get it in a City set a few years from now.

He changed his name? Guy maybe really really likes helicopters. We shouldn't judge.

Lego and Pest Heat Treatment
Space Police XVIII replied to Brixit's topic in General LEGO Discussion
What leaps to mind are the temperature warnings on my old old Classic Space boxes. Max temp 40C/110F.... so in your place, I'd move them and treat them separately. A long soak in a Simple Green solution should do it. This won't react with ABS, but it will take off stickers. Clear pieces and prints, I don't know, you're on your own there, and someone'll doubtless suggest something better anyway. Good luck with the bugs. Those things are a bloody nightmare. -
Ghostbusters 2016 Reboot discussion
Space Police XVIII replied to Kaanere's topic in Culture & Multimedia
In the end it's looking like a 70 million plus loss for Sony, and the director said he'll never reboot another franchise, so, hey! Something good came out of this ugly trainwreck after all. -

[MOC] Some black jet fighter spaceship
Space Police XVIII replied to anothergol's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Really nice fighter! Damn it, now I want that set and can't afford it... Great use of the windshield pieces. Nice touch on the guns, too, the use of lightsaber hilt dumbbell makes for really nice detailing. -
This is a minivan/sedan delivery thing in the general spacecar theme of Space Police III. Indisputably best Space Police! Look at all that accessibility and cargo space! capacity of at least 2-3 seriously drunk people! There's a parts listing and instructions image thing on my flickr page if anyone cares, cheers!

Yeah, agreed. It feels overly large and overly specialized. I mostly wanted to see if I could make something decent with it - this whole thing is basically 'set 60101 in space.'

I really like that chassis design. It looks pretty huge for a quad bike though - and official Lego designs have the same problem - it's as big as a small car.

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Space Police XVIII replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
These are neat. The gun on the right side of the AT-ST looks like a new piece. -
Looks awesome, and I love the guns, computer panels on the side, other details that make it immediately recognizable. Great job recreating my favorite set ever.

Only thing that leaps to mind is stacking these wheels. Staggered 1-and-1/2 pins should hold them together okay.

I love this. Nice builds, especially details on the trader's little building. Nice writeup too, I've always been a fan of those settings that are just infinite open sky. The 1x2 tiles in the last photo - that doesn't look like a Lego color, where're they from?
