Hi LegoSjaak, I understand and apologize if the post was inappropriate. I grew up with Lionel Trains, I do not remember seeing Legos when I was young and didn't build my first one until 18 months ago when I turned 65. My wife and I enjoy the whole experience and plan to continue to expand our Lego collection and Lionel Trains. We have progressed to building a few of our MOC's including the Church, memorial garden, playground and school. Thanks for responding. Regards, EddieZ

I used a Brother P-touch to print text and a grey scale photo. Worked pretty well. I had it hooked up to an iMac computer.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Robin Lego, Yes, your garden was the inspiration. We lost our 15 year old airedale terrier recently and decided to make the garden in her honor. Eddie -

I wonder if the detectives car might be the bonus set when the detective agency is released... -
This past weekend I was fortunate to acquire a used, complete Sydney Opera House for $150 through CraigsList. It is now assembled and will eventually be used for parts.

Having just started in July, I have one of each starting with the Fire Brigade. I also have the Haunted House and just recently acquired a used complete Sydney Opera House for $150 that will be used for parts to attempt a MOC church. EddieZ Austin, Tx

Review: Lego 10244 Fairground Mixer - Creator Series
EddieZ replied to VintageLegoEra's topic in LEGO Town
Like you, at first I didn't give it a second thought but it is now on my list. I plan to set it up as a carnival area on my lionel train platform along with some modulars. The carnival will be just out of town and will be replaced with a winter village as it gets closer to Christmas. -
Being new to LEGO in general and the winter village series in particular, how does one get the extra elf and 2 toy soldiers? Regards, EddieZ Austin, Tx

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
EddieZ replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Well, the Modulars got me interested. When I turned 65 last month I started thinking about things I'd never done and building a LEGO was one of them. I grew up with Lincoln Logs and Erector Sets, LEGOs I don't remember seeing. Went to the local LEGO store and the young lady there was extremely helpful. I walked out with the Parisian Restaurant. Since then I've built the Town Hall and Pet Shop. Bought a few others waiting for the grandkids to come visit and help grandpa build them. I'm pretty sure I'm hooked! -
So, at the age of 65 I realized one of the many things I have not done yet was to build a LEGO! So, for my 65th birthday I decided to buy and build a LEGO. After visiting the local LEGO store and visiting with a very helpful young lady I walked out with the Parisian Restaurant. I now have the "bug"! Since then I've acquired the FB, GE, PS, TH, PC. Some are assembled and some are waiting for the Grand Kids to show up to help me. My wife has even joined me in the adventure. She separates the pieces as I assemble. Our plans are to set up a 4' x 8' Lionel train platform and use the LEGO buildings on it. We plan to display different pieces during different times of the year. We have the Monster Fighter Haunted House for Halloween, and will get the Fairground Mixer to add some additional motion. Around the Holidays we will get the Winter Village sets. I grew up with Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys and Erector Sets but LEGOs were not around. I understand now why one of my grown sons is addicted to LEGOs. Interests: Dual Line Kite Team flying, Senior Bowling, Guitar, Banjo and my Mustang!!! EddieZ Austin, TX

Hi Tim, 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 L. Way back had a '67 Shelby GT 350, sold to buy first home. I still see the buyer and he drives it regularly. Eddie
