    Lucky LEGO finds

I have been lucky twice with lego : The first was when i was about 8 and i was walking with my dad past this charity shop by my house. When i look in i was astonnished to find a huge box with what i would later find out to be : 6376 breezway cafe 6666 ambulance (best ambulance ever) 6552 rocky river retreat 6398 central precinct HQ 6472 gas n' wash express (the one that the new garage comming out is based on) 6595 surf shack 6670 rescue rig 6593 blaze battler 6353 coastal cutter 6658 bulldozer and many more including some big truck with a space shuttle on it! and baseplates, cars, trees, and a load of figs! these sets created the best city ever made and all my friends were sooooo gelous! :-D and all for
  2. The 10305 Lion Knights' Castle is amazing. It's also $400 plus tax. The 31120 Medieval Castle is a great castle for $100 plus tax, but it doesn't have a lot of minifigs. What if you want a really simple, classic castle? As an exercise, I built set 6073 Knight's Castle from 1984 in Studio using only parts currently available from Bricks and Pieces. The result uses 670 parts, compared to the original 408, because the panels are brick-built, and it has no horses, and the minifigs are plain, but other than that it's a pretty close copy. The render doesn't show the minifigs, shields, and weapons, but they're included in my Bricks and Pieces bag. The total cost on Lego.com is $95.15 plus tax, plus whatever two horses and saddles cost from Bricklink or Bricks and Minifigs. Genuine used copies of 6073 currently go for $175 on Bricklink in the USA, or $150-200 on eBay depending on the condition. Will I go ahead and buy the parts? Almost certainly not. The 31120 is a much better castle for $100 plus tax, except for the paucity of minifigs. But it was an interesting exercise. Maybe in a few days I'll see if Bricks and Pieces can yield up a decent light gray recolor of the Yellow Castle. The horses won't be missing from that one ....
  3. I've finally decided to part ways with Bionicle (sorry Constraction Forum!!!). Maybe I'll get back into it if we ever get a G3, but for now, I'm selling all of my G1 sets. Will sell only as a lot via eBay. I am very open to offers, so don't let that price discourage you. Just be fair - there's a ton here! Contacting me via eBay is the best way to make an offer or to ask a question. Feel free to ask! Read the full description on eBay. More pictures on eBay as well.
  4. Hi everyone, So after having recently come out of my dark ages, I have been reinforcing my army with Castle themed Lego with lots from eBay. I've come across some great finds but I have noticed a disturbing trend of fakes appearing lately. I fear that my latest purchase may partially fall into this category, as you can see here: https://imgur.com/a/RG19fmJ It's a little disheartening when that happens, but hey...at least my boy can freely destroy them :) Has anybody else experienced similar? Seems like a lot of bother to report and send the items back. P.S. I presume that the 'centaur' bodies were never produced by Lego? The upper torso attaches to them. My ones are clearly fake.
  5. Hi there, An eBay seller by the name of 'zacparis' https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/zacparis?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 specializes in reproduction stickers. However, for some bizarre reason, a reproduction sticker set for 5571 Black Cat has a derivative of my LDD 'Legacy' model which I posted in 2013! I suppose this did had to happen, eventually given this kind of planet we live on. Here is the mentioned model: And here is the derivative: Anyone else seen something happen like that to you?

    Great Deal?

So I was browsing ebay when I stumbled upon this. For only $1.30 it seems too good to be true. http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEGO-6971-Inter-Galactic-Command-Base-with-instructions-/263107209757?hash=item3d42696a1d:g:iSAAAOSwhilZYj~0 I'm not into classic space, but I know people on here might, so I thought I'd share it.

    Sellers synchronization tool

Hello everyone! As a master's student at IT university and a small seller myself, I have made a tool to automatically synchronize my stock and orders on some most famous LEGO markets and I want to know your opinion. What have I done? Set of automatic scripts on mayor LEGO selling websites (Bricklink, Brickowl, eBay, Allegro (central european auction house) + my own eshop) which regularly check all the incoming orders and synchronize the stock on all other websites to avoid selling duplicates. In online auctions the script also automatically sells every week all previously expired auctions. This way I'm able to control everything from one place and I don't have to worry about anything else then shipping the orders. Why am I describing this? I have everything already programmed and ready to use. So I was thinking if any other seller could find it useful and would be willing to use this system as well. If there would be enough people which could benefit from this, I can put my effort into making some nice user interface to set everything up and ready to use for everyone. Also, if you have any suggestions or opinions about this briefly explained application, I will be happy to hear it.

    Rare Items For Sale

Hi, I have two very rare developer brick that I'm currently selling on eBay. These bricks are only given to members of Traveler's Tales after a project is complete and will never be sold commercially. They have never been displayed since I received them. These are really hard to get a hold of and a lot of the staff that worked on these titles will never part with them. They'd make a great collectors item. Han Solo: [snap] Ultron: [snap]
  11. I submitted a design (Parts list + custom instructions) to moc.bricklink.com and recently discovered that a user on Ebay is apparently selling the bricks to make the design and then e-mailing the buyer instructions (The listing also uses photos originally from the moc.bricklink.com page). After contacting Ebay's Verified Right's Owner Program (VeRO) with a Notice of Claimed Infringement (NoCI) form, the representitive said that the case as described didn't sound like intellectual property infringement so the listing wasn't taken down. If the seller actually is distributing the instructions I made without permission, then that is against the Digitally Delivered Goods policy for Ebay sellers (http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/downloadable.html), yet that's not for certain and it would be difficult to prove without buying a copy (and because the listing is private previous buyers of the item cannot be contacted to find out the specifics of what's going on). For reference here is the link to the moc.bricklink.com page http://moc.bricklink.com/pages/moc/mocitem.page?idmocitem=3997 and the link to the Ebay page where the design is apparently being sold http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Custom-San-Francisco-Cable-Car-Minifigure-Scale-Train-Car-Passenger-MOC-/201745851286?hash=item2ef8fd6396:g:NO8AAOSwnHZYTFC3 So, what if anything can be done now?

    IMPORTANT Message to LEGO Sellers

This is something important I realized while shopping for nexo knight and star wars parts. Many of you know that you can scan the Nexo Shields on the app which makes them a nice addition to any collection. However I attempted and succeeded in scanning the shields over the product images on the sellers page. Here is proof: http://imgur.com/g03UG7z and another: http://imgur.com/qgXpeHR I did contact the seller and let him know and now i want to share this with you so that you do not get ripped off. Hope this helped anyone
  14. Hello everyone... per an article I read a few weeks ago, the German National Football Team minifigures are going to be released on May 14th... that is just a few days away from today... for those AFOLs who have no access to buying directly in stores that are across the pond or next to the border of Germany, how would you go about acquiring a complete set?... I want to avoid eBay if at all possible, so any AFOLs out there willing to help those of us who are stuck?... (not sure if there has been a discussion devoted to this - my apologies if there is already)

    [LDD][MOD] Kylo Ren's Upsilon-class Shuttle

Huge fan of LEGO's model for Kylo Ren's Shuttle, 75104, but as many fans as well, I was very disappointed that the ship's wings did not fold out. I was also a little disappointed that the color did not completely reflect that of the ship as seen in The Force Awakens. So of course I decided to add the missing features and improve the color, as well as change some other attributes. Finally finished my LDD rendition. What do you all think? I also listed some other changes I made on MOCpages, if you want to check them out.

    Is this Real?

I was rambling about the internet and found this list for a movie version of the Mask of Shadows: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEGO-BIONICLE-BLACK-KRAAHKAN-MOVIE-EDITION-MAKUTA-Mata-Nui-Titan-8593-MASK-/231591636853?nma=true&si=r2a769c7riItsoFnS%252FjJh10Oc1A%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 The listing has ended apparently and I have no interest in actual getting it, but my curiosity has been peaked! Is this a real thing and if so what did it come with? I myself cannot remember a thing about!
  17. Okay, this is something different. If anyone remembers, 42000 was leaked on Ebay a couple of months before the set was actually released. Well, something similar has happened. I was browsing on Ebay earlier today, and I came across an auction for a lot of Lego Technic vehicles that the seller claimed to be prototypes for the 2017 lineup. This is given credence due to the fact that pretty much every model had some parts in colors that are not currently available, or have new pieces. At this point in time, it is unknown how this fellow got his hands on them, whether they were stolen, or sent to him by mistake. I downloaded the pictures, because the auction was taken down not 10 minutes after I checked it out. My phone is out of batteries, and is not really useable while charging, so I can't upload pictures quite yet, so for now, have some descriptions. The auction consisted of four vehicles, which I will detail below. #1, Forklift. The first vehicle was a forklift, maybe a little bit bigger than the one Mahjqa recently posted, but the machine is yellow, and all functions appear to be manual. The lifting of the forks seems to be done by using the 1x11 pneumatic cylinders, but on this model the cylinders are black, and not yellow. There also appears to be a pneumatic tank piece on the back, standing in for a propane tank. I can't tell if this is a new piece or not, it does appear to be a bit smaller than the old tank, and appears to be light bluish gray. There is also a black pump beside the tank, probably the same one used on 42053. Also in the picture was a pallet made out of tan plates, with some kind of brick built equipment on top. Functions are unknown for sure, but it has at least 3 valves, so it has to have at least steering, fork raising, and fork tilt. The second model is much, much larger, being a six wheeled motor grader, again in yellow. It is a medium set, but the cab is small, indicating it is meant to be large. There is a mix of black and yellow pneumatic cylinders, and the blade appears to be made out of some kind of new curved part, like the 3x11 curved panel, but like 4 or 5 studs wide. The tires also appear to be new, like the tires on the Unimog, but smaller. There also appears to be a PF battery box on the back, just ahead of where the engine would be, so there is probably a motorized compressor in there somewhere. There is also a large number of valves, at least three on each side, so there are therefore at least six functions. There also appear to be two knobs on the cab, possibly for front axle and articulated steering. The third model is... Well, I'm not quite sure what it is. It appears to be some kind of spaceplane, given that it what appear to be rocket boosters, although it does not resemble any current spacecraft. What we probably have here is something like 42038, where the set looks plausible, but ultimately is a nonesuch. The set is almost but not quite like a B-1 Lancer,, with a long nose, and swept wings. At the rear are three engines, which are side by side in a row, and above them a split tail. I'm not sure if the engine bell nozzles are new parts or not, but they appear to be new. The model is black and white, and is the only one out of the lot with any stickers, which look rather crude. Under the cockpit is "Orion", and under the tail fin "42067", which we can presume is the set's number. There appear to be new parts that act as the payload bay doors, although sadly the seller did not open them. As for functions, there are two yellow levers on either side, just behind the cockpit, function unknown, as well as a bevel gear on each side, which might connect to a switch. Just in front of the tail is a joystick, similar to 42025, with another yellow lever ahead of that, which might control the rudder. The set appears to be roughly on the level of 42025, but may have some pneumatic functions, as there are some hoses protruding out the underside. All of these models had some weird areas that looked like they came apart due to rough handling. In addition, this set has the new L shaped panels in white, just behind the cockpit. As well, the model has some new panels in the nose, of uncertain dimensions. The final model was by far the biggest, and is the only one that I can definitively identify, a Gottwald AK-912 crane. It has ten axles, using the wheels of 42009, and is quite big. It had no stickers, but was in the yellow and black colors of Shcmidbauer, one of the companies that operated the real crane. Unfortunately, the seller did not know how to put the model together, so the lattice boom and the outriggers were set to the side. The lattice booms appear to use some kind of new part, a beam with holes offset 90 degrees from each other, to make the sides and allow the diagonal beams to connect. Those parts appeared to be rather rough, possible 3D printed? This model was the only one to be flipped on its side, allowing the underside to be seen. It had 4 differentials on it, allowing an accurate number of wheels to be driven, but oddly, the wheel hubs appear to be new, almost but not quite like the 42000 hubs. Those parts appeared to be 3D printed as well, but the actual shape is kind of hard to discern. This model, unlike the rest, has no pneumatics, but there is definitely a PF battery box in the superstructure, just ahead of the first winch. The outriggers are interesting, as they use mini linear actuators, and it seems that at the base of the outrigger is some kind of spline piece to connect to the main truck. Well, that's all for now, let's hope my phone charges, so that I can give you some pictures. In case you haven't guessed by now, April Fools!!!!
  18. The stuff on eBay from China (obviously a LEGO knockoff) ... I just cant comprehend. Bad quality Bad printing Most start at $.99 as a bidding war (Most get like 1 bid because there are so many. They have taken over) So sad... For some reason they are everywhere. Share your thoughts.

  21. As some of you might have read in my previous article, I recently purchased a ton of bricks on Craigslist which I have painstakingly sorted into sets. This article covers: different sorting goals (by color, by part, etc..) how to sort it (I used a two-pass sorting algorithm) how to store it (I used drawers) Read the Article: From buckets to bins: How to sort a lot of Lego Take a look and let me know what you think... I'm especially interested to hear how your sorting and storing method differs. (I'm pretty sure it's a good storage method - it's Lord Business approved!) Sincerely, ---tom

  25. I've bought a couple of train related things off of eBay recently and, on receiving them, I've been rather disappointed they've come assembled. All complete and in great condition, no complaints there, but I wanted to build them and feel a bit cheated. What do other people thing, do you like your eBay purchases as a bag of bricks, or as a nice ready to play with (or just admire) model?
