    Review: 10228 Haunted House

Finally built the Haunted House. Definetely one of the best sets ever. A true Lego legend. It's a homage to City and Creator at the same time, and it's better than both. I bought the Ghostbusters set on impulse along with the HH and oh, wow, they go together sooo well!

    2013 Castle Theme

The MMV is a must. Buy as many as you can. It's just that great. I recommend the Joust too. That's another great set. I like the MVR. Get at least pne if you can. Kingdoms RuLeZ. Personally, I feel the 2013 Castle is a huge disappointment, especially after Kingdoms and LotR. I love the minifigs, but I hate the coat of arms. You can always MOC your Castle, but there's just that much you can do about minifigs.

    The Dark Tower in Lego

I like it. In fact, I like it so much I just tweeted it to Mr. Stephen King. I hope he checks it out!
  4. I really like it. It reminds me of the film Excalibur. And that as big a compliment as I can give

    REVIEW: 10210 Imperial Flagship

The Imperial Flagship, a BLUE ship, was released when the Imperials were RED. Do you think that if we get a new Flagship it will be RED as opposed to the Imperials that are now BLUE? And what would you rather have released: a new Imperial Flagship, or a UCS Pirate ship?

    Looking for feedback on 10664

If you mean to enlarge the amount of bricks you got in order to MOC, I'll quote a Lego-store employee to whom I talked to for a few minutes the very month I came out of my Dark Ages: "If you like Castle, buy Castle sets. If you like City, buy City sets. They'll have most bricks you'll need". That was quite accurate.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I went to this London Lego store yesterday and one of the employees told me that the last thing he heard from Lego about the 2015 modular is that it is going to have a "Sherlock Holmes" style. He said that info was from a while ago, but that there had not been any other news since then. He didn't give me any more details, though.

2015 City Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Guys, don't forget these are just preliminary pics -- they are not pics of the final sets. Don't base your judgement on that. Think more in terms of overall design, number of minifigs, etc.

2015 LEGO Pirates Rumors and Discussion

I believe the finished sets will look much better than the ones in the preliminary pictures. I agree that the pirate ship is the most disappointing set of them all. The one thing I miss is a big "land-based" set like 6242 Soldier's Fort (ok, that's more of a medium-sized one), 6276 Eldorado Fortress and 6277 Imperial Trading Post

  12. Thanks for another awesome review, WhiteFang! This is one of my favorite CMF series. If the fantasy/swashbuckling characters are part of what's in store for the upcoming Pirate and Castle themes... Wow, oh, wow! The Nintendo colours in the videogame pad is one of the nicest touches TLG has ever delivered. There are so many great details about this series that I'm completely overwhelmed!

What's in store for Castle in 2015?

Different question, same topic: What if in a Castle revamp the Forestmen became... Elves! That seems quite a natural choice, don't you think? Personally, I'd like to see the Forestmen as humans, and Elves as, well, as Elves, like two different factions (or maybe there's this Elf that's part of the Forestmen...)

What's in store for Castle in 2015?

Same here. Falcons and Lions were just two different factions; there were evil individuals in both of them, but also good guys. Interesting enough, Crusaders and Lion Knights were one and the same to my young eyes; they had the same colours, and the different shield figures was just a matter of "what this guy does in the Lion army." The first time I discovered there was any difference between Lions and Crusaders was a few years ago, when I joined EB (just after I left my Dark Ages). Till then, I thought they were one and the same faction. I did notice there was some difference, of course, but I never realized they were actually two separate factions. And the way Lego was released in Brazil didn't help much too. ;)

    survey Picture versus Video Reviews

I like the videos alright, but I feel that the pictures are easier to look at over and over again, especially when you are looking for details. Sometimes the videos are better at showing some details because they turn here and there, while pics are static. But as the reviews here are very thorough, I voted for Picture Reviews.

What's in store for Castle in 2015?

I think you have to imagine it how those sets -- or sets based on them -- would look today. Those are old pics, don't forget that

What's in store for Castle in 2015?

Any love for Europa (that unproduced theme)? What if the theme that follows Pirates 2015 is not a Castle theme per se, but something a little closer in date and age to Pirates? We'd still get castles and knights and horses (and swords and shields and spears, etc.), but also more civilian buildings and different looking armor (not so Medieval, but closer in look to Renaissance, I guess). Would that please any of you Castle fans? What about you, Pirate guys? I guess it would be nice for variety, and it would be cool for a couple of years, but could you forget Kingdoms and Black Falcons and Forestmen and Fantasy Era? I believe that in a way there would be room for all of those factions, and even some others, like Vikings, and perhaps even orks and some fantasy elements. After all, no one said that Europa was supposed to be realistic. It certainly looked realistic, but there's no reason why it could not be more magical and bring Fantasy elements.

What's in store for Castle in 2015?

Kingdoms was released right before The Lord of the Rings. In my opinion, it set the standard for Castle themes, but then its quality was taken to LotR sets. I do hope that when licensed themes like LotR expire we get all that quality back in a great Castle line. That's why I keep coming back to Kingdoms and wishing for it to come back: It's all about quality. Although the latest instalment of Castle was of good quality, of course, it fell short of the Kingdoms standard (IMHO, that is).

    LEGO Hobbit 2014

As a kid, I'd probably love this set. Lots of playability. Easily identifiable scene from the movie. I'd definitely MOC it, adding features and stuff. I's spend weeks inside the Lonely Mountain. As a grown up, I just don't like it. It's not that it's bad, it's simply that I'm not the target audience. It's much more like a playset than what I'd want from a Lego set. Some pieces in interesting colours, but that's about it.

    New LEGO® FUSION

I think this is a great idea. Going back and forth from the virtual thing to the real one and then back again is a great way to get kids --and adults too-- who are used to spending a lot of time in the virtual world but not that much time in the real one. How many of us have spent "just another hour" surfing the net instead of building things with Lego? Even when LDDing, sometimes we just let time goes by instead of moving to the "real" thing. Once people are used to going for the real bricks, I believe it will be better to keep them there. It seems like a long-term strategy to me and I bet it will work just fine. Sometimes all you need is just that little push to go for the real bricks and Lego Fusion might just be it.

[ LDD MOC ] Gundam Chroma S1 Virya

Wow, looks awesome. I just got hooked on Gundam. I'm starting by the very first series. I hope to get to these new mechas soon ;)
