LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

My first thought on Nien Nunb is how his torso would be perfect for a Rebel Friend minifigure (which is pretty apt, thinking about it).

The figs look great, the eyes on Ezra I'd prefer black but it's to be expected. Cal I'd have preferred bracca Scrapper but I'm certainly not complaining about what we're getting. Young Leia looks okay can't see Lola though and that would have been the most interesting thing about her.

Would be nice if Grogu actually had that scarf type part.

I haven't seen the X-wing.

Lego also needs to stop with the blue eyes. Yes Ezra has blue eyes but he literally looks blind now. (If Lego HAS to give blue eyes why not use the design style they gave to Elsa,Marion, and Willie in the 2008/2009 Indy sets)

Yes please, it looks too weird :snicker: Otherwise looks great.

Really interesting that Lego continues to use a different Grogu design for these videos. Since all the other featured characters are based on real minifigures, I'm wondering if they'll update the Grogu mold to be more accurate next time we see him.

As much as I’d love for this to be the case, it wouldn’t happen until 2025 at minimum because we’ve seen the same Grogu mould being used for the BARC Speeder Escape set next month. It just doesn't look right without that oversized collar.

I have to say, as much as I’m really happy to be getting Cal, I’m also quite bummed out that there’s no poncho or arm printing. With these 25th Anniversary figures we’ve seen they possess specialised moulding / printing / detailing but Cal and Leia seem quite light on them (Leia especially). Wouldn’t be so bad if the BD-1 figure gets some more detailed printing though.

May I be the one to start the conspiracy theories about there being no Tarkin in that video?

it’s a great little vid though. New figures look good!

The conspiracy theory I want to start is Andor, saw and cal all being together. As impossible as it would be could you imagine Cal showing up in Andor season 2

Ezra looks excellent to me and I have zero problem with his blue eyes since they've been consistently doing this for characters like Hera and Ahsoka, and I don't mind the yellow for Maul but then again, they're also aliens so eh, I don't know.

If it was consistent, then I could maybe be more okay with it. But compare his eyes to, say Sabine. Or any of the other minifigs from the Ahsoka wave. Or, heck, basically every other human minifigure from the group photo at the end of the video. He sticks out like a Rancor in a pack of Wampas. If Lego's trying something different for the alien humanoids, that's one thing (and I still don't like how that looks either), but Ezra isn't like that, and should probably have his eyes like the rest of the human characters. As-is, he looks like blind Kanan:

r/Legoleak - Star Wars: 25th anniversary video gives us a look at the Cal Kestis, Young Leia, Ezra Bridger, and Nien Nunb minifigs! (official reveal)

Agreed, but I doubt Lego would have been able to justify a new mold for Lola, and it might not have looked right as a 1x1round tile.

I doubt that means anything. Ezra was the only minifig from the Peridia set, and we didn't see anyone from the Jabba's Sail Barge/Sarlac Pit. I imagine Lego wants to keep a few surprises for full set reveals.

Young Leia is just okay, nothing interesting. I had hoped she would at least come with Lola but if she had, it probably would have been shown here. Nien Nunb looks great but I agree that he probably should have had mid legs.

To be fair, characters like Leia or Peli Motto are both shorter than Nien Nunb and have normal minifig legs, so it would be weird for him to be given mid legs but not them.

What a tease.

I figured it out. Quote from 1984 is about a character called Winston Smith. George Orwell’s novel 1984 was brought to television and starred Peter Cushing as Winston Smith. Peter Cushing also played Moff Tarkin.

Truly well done! I just have to congratulate you for putting in the work. Very satisfying and I hope/believe you are right!

Huh... TIL! I only know him from Return of the Jedi, and, in the back of my head, I thought the camera made him look short in comparison to Lando. You're right, though - regular minifig legs seem to be correct!

What’s the likelihood that Cal still comes with a poncho? I’m guessing it’s very very low. Hopefully the new printing we saw on BD in the video is included in the DS playset to make up for the lack of poncho and arm printing.

Anyway I’m looking forward to the May livestream as it looks like there will be some anniversary set reveals.

Please no. Andor was great without lightsabers and the lack of cameos. As much as I love Cal I want Andor S2 to be its own separate thing.

Was just thinking that too! With the Rebel troopers in the boarding party set you could create one pretty easily now. Ezra and Cal look good as well. Not sure about the blue eyes on Ezra just yet though.

Nien Nunb looks great and is a nice addition for the "missing figure" from the MF of the starship collection.

The three remaining anniversary figures look great!
Nice little vid, too :sweet:
I wasn't too excited about Nien Numb, first, but I might try to get my hands on him, after all :purrr:

Mitch

Nien Numb looks very promising assuming the actual minifigure is similar to the version in the video.  All LEGO needs to do now is to release a new Lando wearing Han's clothes and my life will finally be complete!  2024 is rapidly becoming a great year for LEGO Star Wars - I just hope they do something equally good next year to celebrate the 20th Anniversay of ROTS.  I'm starting to feel really old - it's difficult to believe it was released that long ago!

I can finally rest... let the sun rise on a grateful universe. Lego Cal Kestis is real.

I have only one problem… Cal doesn’t have a poncho!!!!! Why?!!!! (Still looks like a 10/10 figure though) I guess the video also confirms he will be coming with BD-1. And that maybe some of the May 4th live-stream reveals will be the august anniversary sets.

This is interesting. I think I'm ok with the tradeoff of the poncho for BD, though I would have liked some arm printing.

I want to preface this by saying that this video has absolutely no bearing on whether or not Cal is in season two. There's no way the creators would know.

Actually, it's not happening either way. I was going to say there was a chance- Cal works with Saw between 15 and 10 BBY- but Andor is taking place at the same time as Rebels. Cal's already left Saw's group by now and is on Tanalorr. While he'll assumably return to the known galaxy to cap off the trilogy, I can't imagine they would spoil what he's up to in Andor.

That said, I remain absolutely on the copium train that the second the trilogy ends, Cal begins appearing in the Ahsoka/Mando corner of the universe, helping their escapades in the New Beyond.

Yeah, I'd have liked arm printing or a poncho. If he's got a way to mount BD on his back, I'm ok with the no poncho, but I think the arm printing really should have been there, especially considering the others. Nien and Malak get new molds, Fives gets a cloth element and arm printing, Saw gets the armor and cloth, etc.

He comes in the Desert Skiff set.

Nien looks good, this is pretty much how everyone expected he would look, I think, so not surprising, but still good. I actually like Ezra's force eyes, though I may be projecting my own want for Perida to have a heavy connection to the force (hence why Sabine was able to use it there), and Ezra spending so much time on it to have made him so powerful. Young Leia is fine but still an absurd choice for a figure, and I fully expect her set to crash and burn. Putting literally any other character into the creature set would have been a great way to get people who don't generally buy those to pick it up, so while I'm grateful as a consumer that lego didn't try and shove a super popular character into a set most people view as less desirable (I suppose it's possible it turns out to be great, but these creature sets normally don't do too well), I'm a little surprised they put what is undoubtably the least popular anniversary fig into that set.

Also, that Yavin Temple at the end is beautiful. Shame we aren't getting a Yavin MBS anytime soon.

It can’t be a conspiracy theory if it ain’t a long shot :) we can only dream, I can only cling to Andor being aware of what a Jedi is so he’s either met one or knows someone who as met one. I’m clutching at straws with this

Hopefully all the blowback from the botch job last year means this year’s Death Star is an attractive set

Yeah I've hated them on every figure that's had them so far. Hera, Ahsoka, Barriss- all of them just look so weird and bad. I actually can't decide whether I prefer them or the old CW eyes.

Love all the new minifigs here! I’m a bit split on Ezra’s blue eyes tho. They usually reserve coloured eyes for alien characters, so it’s inconsistent to have Ezra be the only human character to have them in a looooooong time, but then again, his bright eyes are a key feature of his design :shrug_oh_well:

Love all of the new figure reveals! Super excited to see more from the Peridea set, too. Outside of this forum, the X-Wing seems to be getting very little attention as everybody seems too distracted by the figures to notice it. I screenshotted the best views of it immediately after the first time I watched the video for further studying, and it does look very good! I love the greebling on the back, and the cheese slopes around the nose should help it finally have that more accurate shaping.

Huh, Fives doesn’t have arm-printing in the video (can’t believe I’m even saying something like this). Perhaps the detail of the animation doesn’t necessarily reveal everything about these new minifigures…

Also I completely agree the cheese slopes on the side of the X-Wing is a MUCH needed update. Certainly curious to see how the X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter set will look now.

Wow, if all you need to do to have a complete life is take Han's legs and torso from 75365 and add a Lando head, hair and hand swap you're living a pretty great life!

Of course it won't be the cheapest exercise but Lando from 75396 will make the necessary Lando parts accessible and more affordable. But who can put a price on such fulfilment?

While I would have preferred Ezra’s eyes to be consistent with the other humans, maybe he drank the Water of Life on Peridea. :shrug_oh_well:

All of the minifigures look good. It’s nice to finally be getting Nein, and seeing young Leia makes me more intrigued at seeing what that set is.
