    Animal Crossing 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I really do think the only way Lego is going to deliver a satisfactory representation of Animal Crossing characters is going to be through a CMF. There's just a lot of characters to go through, and if we only get 1-2 new ones per set, there's no way Lego can produce a huge number of them to cover all of the villagers and NPC's people want. So, hopefully January or May next year!
  2. Huh... TIL! I only know him from Return of the Jedi, and, in the back of my head, I thought the camera made him look short in comparison to Lando. You're right, though - regular minifig legs seem to be correct!
  3. If it was consistent, then I could maybe be more okay with it. But compare his eyes to, say Sabine. Or any of the other minifigs from the Ahsoka wave. Or, heck, basically every other human minifigure from the group photo at the end of the video. He sticks out like a Rancor in a pack of Wampas. If Lego's trying something different for the alien humanoids, that's one thing (and I still don't like how that looks either), but Ezra isn't like that, and should probably have his eyes like the rest of the human characters. As-is, he looks like blind Kanan: Agreed, but I doubt Lego would have been able to justify a new mold for Lola, and it might not have looked right as a 1x1round tile. I doubt that means anything. Ezra was the only minifig from the Peridia set, and we didn't see anyone from the Jabba's Sail Barge/Sarlac Pit. I imagine Lego wants to keep a few surprises for full set reveals.
  4. Well, that puts to rest any discussion about Young Leia being misinterpreted. In some of the shots, it looks like Ezra is suffering from Maul syndrome and doesn't have pupils, which makes him look blind (see 1:59 in the video, for example). Odd choice, if the minifig also looks that way, but I guess it's the style they went with for Ahsoka and Hera. Not a fan, personally. I also find it odd that Nien has regular sized legs. I guess I assumed he would have had midi-legs? Other than a few nitpicks, though, I think they all at least look pretty good - and I'm glad that BD-1 also seems to be coming with Cal!

    Animal Crossing 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Images for Wave 2 are now out! The smaller set is the airport, with Tangy and Wilbur, and the larger set is Town Hall, with a fall Isabelle, K.K. Slider, and Audie. As a kneejerk reaction, I think that I like Wave 1 a lot more than I like these two sets - especially with their prices in mind. The airport's a little trick for me - that's something that is very much tied to New Horizons, while most of the other sets could, without too much of a leap in logic, take place in other games. I also find it interesting that the Dodo Airlines sign is printed in English, especially compared to Nook's Cranny, which didn't have any writing on it's sign. Looking at Town Hall, I think the set's got a lot of filler to justify the cost. The RV probably takes up a lot of the part count, but I don't think it adds a lot to the set. That easily could have been a smaller $10-15 set without needing to tack in on to Town Hall. I also wish we got a new music title, instead of reusing Forest Life. Overall, I think this wave might turn more into finding the individual minifigures than seeking out the whole sets for me. Though, that could change as we see more photos!
  7. Here's another random idea about Renown's latest tease (glad you're still with us!) - what if it's not about brainwashing or 1984, but, focusing on the Big Brother part, just more literally about brothers? If so, that could potentially refer to: Savage and Maul (literal brothers, and the episode that brought Maul back was called "Brothers") Waxer/Boil/Numa (with Nerra meaning Brother) Something Inquisitor related (Marrok helmet bust? This one is a bit of a stretch though) A tease towards another Young Jedi Adventures set - one of the episodes is named "Big Brother's Bounty." It could also hint at the new character from the episode, Ansen Strung, who's a Dowutin (same species as Ninth Sister). Or, the bounty from that episode, a Burowga (which looks like a hybrid of an axolotl and Appa from ATLA). This is also probably out there though. Unless if "sadly" is also supposed to be a clue as well - harkening back to the "gin-soaked tears"? So, something else with Qui-gon Gin? Just a general warning to keep our expectations in check about an upcoming set, so we're not sad? ...Or maybe I'm just completely off my rocker, and it's simply something ISB-related. Though, based on the context of the quote, I'm feeling more like it's about Doctor Pershing than Yularen. Though, one other thought: Renown seemed to know about the Jedi Bob set as long ago as November (nine months before release), so this could even be a hint at a January 2025 set.
  8. Agreed. I definitely do like the reliability and certainty of other leakers, but having some riddles on this little corner of the Internet was also great to have. Hopefully Lego doesn't take out anyone else... Assuming we're reading this correctly and we're not all getting sentimental over nothing!
  9. Looking through Renown's profile, there are some other smaller quotes from other sources/the Bible. Though I don't think that any of them were a direct tease for a character - moreso in response to a Eurobricks user. So, sadly, it may be a sign that Renown (or Renown's source) has gone dark... If, so, thanks for the fun teases you have given, @Renown!
  10. Okay. So, the last lines of 1984... I can only find two things that relate to that year on Wookiepedia: the birth years of E. K. Johnston, who wrote the Ahsoka novel, or, it's a refence to the year that Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure released. If it's a refence to the first one... The only thing I can think of is that the Inquisitor that goes after Ahsoka, and it's a reference to us getting a set for Tales of the Empire (which has a shot of the same Inquisitor). I think the second one makes more sense though... What is "Young Leia" is actually the girl from the film, Cindel Towani? And the "Creature Build" is an Ewok? It even came out at the end of 1984, and the line comes from the end of the book. Now that would be a deep cut. Unless the line is supposed to be more literal, and it's a hint at a character that's accepted defeat/been brainwashed and indoctrinated. Something to do with the First Order? Barriss?

    Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I might have thought that at one point as well... But, we've got the Twilight set coming from Ideas sometimes soon, and I would have thought that demographic was outside of what Lego would do as well. And I also don't think having a one-off popular character from something unrelated means that the set might not be popular with them - just look at the prices on Harley Quinn from Apocalypseburg. Either way, though, it would require 1. Deadpool 3 sets to be made, 2. TS signing off and getting her cut, and 3. Finding a set that would still be sellable with that minifigure in there, especially over other characters who may be in the movie. It's not impossible, but I don't think it's going to happen (especially when Taylor Swift Ideas sets have been shot down numerous times). That would really be a waste of a CMF, in my opinion. The wider Marvel ones have given us characters (or at least versions of characters) outside of sets we might not otherwise get from shows that might not have gotten sets. If we get a vanilla Avengers CMF, it would probably have to have the six OG's in there in some form, which would take up half the roster, and is there interesting enough versions of them left to justify them being there? If not, then it would turn out like the Harry Potter CMFs (featuring the main characters in usually ordinary looking outfits), which, at least near me, weren't very popular.

    Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

If by "Franchise" you're talking about the Deadpool trilogy (widely known for being crass and not matching Lego's standards), I could see an argument being made that this film acts more of a standalone than as a "Deadpool 3," if you get what I mean. Especially if they make a PG-13 cut, it could help separate it from the previous films. Again, it's splitting hairs, but there could be an argument there (not one I think I'm willing to defend... But it's there). If by "Franchise" you're talking about Lego's reputation of only making PG-13 and under characters - Well, Echo slipped through the cracks, so there is technically precedent now. And you could even possibly make an argument about Punisher or Daredevil, though they are probably comics-inspired and not tied directly to the Netflix-based series. Same argument for the already-existing Deadpool minifigure. Either way, I don't think we're getting sets based on Deadpool & Wolverine, even with a PG-13 cut. I agree with you - there's a lot of baggage with the series that doesn't really mesh with Lego. I'm mostly just playing Devil's Advocate and thinking through some possible scenarios out loud - as unlikely as they are.

As far as Marvel at large goes, I do think it's possible they throw a PG-13 cut on Disney+ at some point - especially if this movie is going to shift things around in the "Sacred Timeline" main branch of the MCU, and they want everyone to be able to stay "caught up" for future films and not be locked out of certain films (which aren't available in certain areas/under certain age restrictions). They've already tested those waters via Once Upon a Deadpool, so I don't think it's completely out of the question. If there are plans for that, then there's a slim chance Lego could produce sets specifically for that version (and basically have both the PG-13 cut and the sets release about 6-8 months after release, like the No Way Home sets), but that's an unlikely loophole that probably won't be used - even if this film does rake in a bunch of cash at the box office.

    Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I'd be willing to take a slightly lower minifigure count if it means we get more sets down the lines with more characters (at a better value than the X-Jet), especially since there's more seasons of X-Men '97 coming up and this series arguably has the most goodwill towards it out of all current MCU products. If this is supposed to be a one-and-done deal, though, then I want Lego to go all-out with the minifigs - especially if a significant portion are reusing prints and/or repeating characters. I don't think it would be unreasonable to think Lego could afford to give us 15ish minifigs in a $300 set, especially with reusing parts - though, I am still going to keep my expectations closer to 10 until we hear otherwise.
  15. Oh, I agree. Even something as simple as throwing in a few hair pieces with clones/stormtroopers could add a lot of value and not hurt a set's price in any major way.
