Ideas for CMFs

Recommended Posts

Thanks everyone!

Im glad you liked them! @Yooha i get how you feel about the Bullfighter. @gryffindorbrickkid Apollo is a god I had listed but with only 5 series I really doubt there will be room for him. I think Ra, Odin and Zeus and only deities left

That's a shame - mythology is a rich source of inspiration. I was hoping you would finish off the Olympians with Hestia and Hephaestus and Apollo - did you do a Dionysius? But anyway, always good stuff! :D

@Robert8 you've even outdone yourself with this series! Personally it makes me very frustrated knowing just how many good ideas there are for potential minifigures just ready to slot into Lego's own themes and yet in the real world we land up with Looney Tunes and whatever the overpriced Vidyo figures are supposed to be where all the new parts budget is used to fun new moulded heads with limited use.

The air stewardess is fantastic - I'd hope for an alternative hair colour variant in your BAM selection if (sorry, when) you become TLC's Chief Minifigure Designer. Also, I really love the psychologist and matador, which are just absolutely perfectly designed, and who doesn't always want more Adventurers? Plenty for everyone to enjoy here which is what made the original CMF's great.

I'm a huge mythology buff as well. One of my fondest LEGO wishes is for a theme that ties into Greek mythology or world mythology. Maybe that Percy Jackson Netflix series will do well enough for TLG to chase a license...and maybe they won't get one and will have to resort to creating their own original theme with similar imagery!

Anyway, to answer your question, Robert8 didn't do Dionysus as such, but the Series G Statue is holding a bunch of grapes and a goblet and could easily be interpreted as a statue of Dionysus.

Great stuff as usual . I especially love the ancient greek ones from this series. The magician is another one of my favourites because if it were just a list of figures she wouldn't stand to me as one I'd particularly care for but the way you've executed her design is just perfect.

There will be more mythology characters other than Odin, Zeus and Ra, but no more deities after those 3

For instance, the harpy is a mythology character that I'll make for sure.

Thanks  But that's not happening for sure I can tell you that

But I'm glad you enjoy my work and hope you'll be checking around the remaining 5 series

Thanks. The magician girl is one I quite liked too from this series

Hey @Robert8, have you ever considered making an evil counterpart to Series 15’s Faun?

Hmm no, I actually never thought of that

OH, The Easter Bunny and a Monster Hunters throwback? Can't wait!

Yes. The Easter Bunny and the Monster Fighter

Finally, after 5 years of making CMF, I'll pay homage to one of my favorite themes ever. Took me long enough

She was the 6th member of the Monster Fighters gang

But... what happened to her? Tune in next tuesday to find out

I NEED that Monster Fighters map piece to become real!

LEGO, if you're reading this, either hire this fellow or buy his ideas outright!

Monster Fighters was such a great theme; I still have some on display. Glad you’re paying tribute @Robert8

btw, may we see a Power Miners archetype figure anytime soon? I would love to see your take on one.

Oh wow. I just don't know which ones I would pick among them - definitely the Alraune and Dark elf, who are both astounding fantasy minifigs, and the Monster Fighter and Outback Guy who are adventurers. But my, the factory worker, marionette, train enthusiast, space boy, Horus, ... are also wonderfully designed even if they don't fit in my LEGO MOC worlds! :grin_wub:

OMG! Robert, yet again, you've outdone yourself! My favourites are The Dark Elf, the Slenderman Expy, Horus, Pinocchio, Outback Guy (could have just call him Bushman), and Monster Huntress.

What is there to even say at this point? @Robert8 is the most consistently excellent minifig designer I have ever heard of, and I include the actual professionals at TLG in that statement.

The Alraune is a creature I was not previously familiar with, and my Google results suggest that she's not quite from folklore, but was the star of a novel based on the more traditional legend of the mandrake root mannequin, and was later adapted as a monster in the Final Fantasy video game series in pretty much the form seen here. Either way, she's a marvelous creation.

Nice to have Ra (or Horus, or Re-Horakhty, or...those Egyptians just could not decide how many gods they had, or which ones were which, could they?) added to the mythology lineup.

Now let's talk about the Monster Fighter. First of all, very nice Kate-Beckinsale-in-Van-Helsing leather corset--it's corny, but it tells you exactly what kind of story we're telling here. Second of all, the Moonstone. Those of us who collected the Monster Fighters sets will of course remember those and their lovely rainbow of transparent colors and symbols representing the different monsters. Trans-yellow was not one of the colors, so using that makes it seem like this is a natural part of that theme...but Rob (mind if I call you Rob?), you've gone and given the game away with that jack-o-lantern icon! You're openly admitting that Monster Fighters, and "classic" monsters in general, are ultimately all about sneaking Halloween into the rest of the year! Not that I object, of course!

Moving on...

The Easter Bunny is an obvious one--LEGO gave us the Bunny Suit guy, but this one isn't wearing a costume, he's the real deal! Look at those eggs! THREE in one bag! I have to say, the thing that would trip us all up if they did want to use your designs is that you're way more generous with the accessories than the actual blind bags tend to be. But we do need more LEGO Easter eggs (and I'm not talking about the stuff in the Haunted House attic)--that one with the sad, simple little blue scrawl isn't going to cut it.

I think I've rambled enough. The quality of the series speaks for itself!

I don’t think I can match the excitement of @Karalora, but let me share some thoughts I have here

Another great series! Every one of your ideas is wonderfully done. The Super-Heroine, Dark Elf, Easter Bunny, and Alraune are great additions to the cmf lineup executed perfectly. The alien boy is creative and just what I like to see from these series, as it gives us a glimpse into your imagination. The New Year Guy is a nice surprise, and I love the littler details. Outback Guy is one I was happy you made, and this is exactly how I envisioned him, but you went and added a kangaroo!

And that Monster Fighter... I’m feeling blissfully nostalgic. I love how you made your own power stone that fits into the others perfectly. The fig itself also captures the balance of dark, yet fun.

Every other figure is well made and joyful to see here. My favorites overall are the Prom Queen, Outback Guy, Monster Fighter, and Dark Elf.

Keep up the great work, you make so many people happy.
