I mean, you could certainly group it with holiday themed sets. Most people probably display it with their Christmas decorations rather than Star Wars sets. I think it's fair to say the cinema is drastically different than any other Star Wars set ever made. The rumor says that it’s not modular so either way I think they’ve made a huge mistake by not having it modular. Other marvel sets are and while sometimes it limits their design it does mean people can have the choice to have them standalone or on a city with other Modular’s. My feeling is the theatre and camera set will just be two sets that don’t really go with anything but then that’s also kind of the point they are supposed to be unique sets celebrating 50 years of SW. that’s not me saying these sets are good or bad at this point I’m admiring LEGO’s ambition (it’s the closest word I could think) in doing something different any excuse to get a lukes landspeeder into a set though Quote

Not that I'm complaining, those $60-80 starfighters are consistently the best sets. I don't know- I would imagine the prints are why it's more expensive than a battle droid, but you would think the minifigures' legs and torsos being assemblies rather than a single piece would cause them to be more expensive than the R2, which is simply four basic parts, two of them printed. It's just authentic environmental detailing! The V-19 Torrent made me believe that you won't necessarily have to do the absolute no-brainer sets in order to bring back a long lost main character to store shelves. There's definitely room for improvisation. Yes, a reasonably detailed minifigure should be worth more than a regular R2, which is still not as cheap as a standard B1. You basically do the infamous sand line and just replace it with dust. 13 hours ago, Llewop said: Part of me still hopes/wishes they would have done force ghosts as anniversary figures. Easily have done Qui gon, Obi Wan, Luke, Anakin/Vader, Yoda, Han. But suppose we shall have to wait for the next anniversary. It would have been a fitting opportunity for sure, but I don't blame them for going the concept figure route. Considering it's a general Star Wars anniversary first, it does make even more sense to explore the origins of it all. Force Ghost figures can still be done for the 30th LSW anniversary in 2029. Still crazy to think we haven't received any of those up until this point, though. Quote
CloneCommando99 Posted July 11 Posted July 11 Day #442. By far the most creatively bankrupt clone legion. They are merely a lime 212th reskin. So uninspired that they were even removed from ROTS. Plo Koon evidently blew the paint and marketing budget on his other legion. Favouritism much?! But I digress. The TIE Avenger is the opposite to the TIE series of what the 442nd are to the GAR. It’d be really funny if the theatre workers were Favreau and Filoni. I’ve already preordered it because of the other week’s Da Vinci GWP and double points. But I really would like to see AT AT reviews. Quote

You're right, though I always considered ventress and the torrent associated just due to coming from the same microseries. That said, I believe both the figure and ship are the TCW versions, not the CW2003 versions, so it's not all that relevant to the actual product. They absolutely should be, and it's odd that lego doesn't consider it that way. EXACTLY. And in the case of it being an ANH anniversary, it makes even more sense, seeing as there were no force ghosts- at least, not ones we could see- until TESB. 5 hours ago, CloneCommando99 said: Day #442. It's the digital equivalent of the OT constantly re-using props, and also makes some sense to me- there's probably a list of approved templates/stencils for legion design the republic has. Cody's the type of guy to stay by-the-book and pick a stock stencil for his legion, so it makes sense that other legions would have the same marking pattern. I'm surprised nobody's gotten ahold of one yet, but it should be any day now. Quote

I'm not sure how LEGO will be able to improve on 75192 to be honest (even though it's been around since 2017!) but presumably they'll be a able to 'tidy' it a little more with a few of the newer elements that are now available. It's amazing that it has been on shelves for 9 years; presumably it's been very popular sales-wise, and attracted lots of new fans to LEGO. It's possible that they might just do a minor 'refresh' to tie-in with the 50th Anniversary (e.g. new minifigures, and a small part count increase). 75192 has heaps of room for improvement, I reckon a proper interior and better shaping around the back would easily make it a set worthy of that $1000 price tag that the Death Star got lambasted for. And a far better minifig selection while we're at it, put Lando in there at least Also there was a lack of marketing for the Baby Yoda movie because there was literally nothing in that film Edited July 12 by Sucram Quote

hikouki Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Do we know all of the movies that Lego plans to make into those 6x8 tiles? Looking at the leaks out there, it seems we only have Ep. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and Rogue One accounted for. And Ep. 4 appears twice? Will they make an Episode 3 tile??? Completely agree!! It should have been a full modular!!! This would be a missed opportunity ~ the Palace Cinema has long been discontinued and making a theater based out of the Grauman Chinese Theater would get modular fans buying this and making various MOCs on RB! I think perhaps they were keeping this to a 'smaller' size to keep it within budget? Quote

The leak said every display set next year would get a tile and all we got so far is releases from January to May (with the Vader Art set not dated yet afaik). So we are still missing enough sets for next year, and even the first half year shouldn´t be complete, so there should be still enough sets left and there is no way they skip episode 3 - and as it seems even solo should get one. Mandalorianknight Posted July 12 Posted July 12 59 minutes ago, Darth_Bane13 said: Perhaps, I thinks it's rumored to be $200 so hopefully not too small. But definitely smaller than a modular. Even without accounting for licensing or the increased number of new prints the figures will have, I can't remember the last modular that was $200 if you account for inflation. Quote
Kaijumeister Posted July 12 Posted July 12 (edited) As an aside, I think it’s great we’re getting both the concept art minifigures and poster tiles as commemorative items for the anniversary based on whether sets are ‘normal’ Lego sets or 18+ ones. Anyway, I really need to know what the deal is going to be with the Ahsoka and Starfighter sets. Given that we still don’t have a firm release date on the former I’d love to see some sort of Double Force Friday push with merchandise for the show and film. A combined wave of sets based on both (maybe 4 from the film, and 2-3 from the show) would be a great sweet spot for next April. Edited July 13 by Kaijumeister Quote

BrickBob Studpants Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Starfighter is rumoured to get 3 sets in its first wave! Sounds about right It is the first non-saga non-spin-off movie, after all, so being cautious makes sense! Quote
icm Posted July 13 Posted July 13 I predict a monkey's paw: none of the three will be starfighters. We'll get a buildable certified-cute-cgi-creature, an oversized speeder bike chase, and a helmet. Quote
CloneCommando99 Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Hero Starfighter, larger ship, buildable droid. The characters we do get will be: Ken, Glup Kiddo, Mia the Goth, Will from Inbetweeners (feels like a droid casting),Lionel Baratheon and John Stewart. If Mando couldn’t get Rotta or the Hutts I don’t see Starfighter getting Doctor Who or Lois Lane. Those are my bets looking at modern Lego. Quote

Jokes aside, I feel like he’d need to come in a larger villain set in a later wave. It sounds like he has a Tarkin type role from leaks so not as action oriented a villain for an initial set wave. That is Mia Goth’s role. Quote

It is excellent, although unfortunately they seem to count giant minifigure Luke as a 'normal' set. Well, I guess we're on track, now we just have to hope we get some Ahsoka sets alongside it. With almost a year before May, is it too much to ask that in the next few weeks we'll find out Jedi 3 is a May 2027 release date and get another Triple Force Friday? It'd be poetic for the Fallen Order series to start alongside the end of the sequel era and end at the start of the new era (and unfortunately more likely than not, get ignored in both triple force fridays.) 20 hours ago, Darth_Bane13 said: I looked it up and they are indeed more expensive now, in my head they should still be $200. Honestly I don't even blame lego for this one, $200 to $230 for a "standard" one is actually less dramatic than it would be going off inflation. But regardless, yeah, tack a star wars tax onto it and there's no way we get a $200 modular in 2027. 36 minutes ago, BrickBob Studpants said: If Matt Smith‘s character is human (or at least humanoid), he‘ll surely get a minifig. Three sets for starfighter could be OK if they're actual normal sets and not a giant buildable Ryan Gosling's droid/alien sidekick. My optimistic guess will be that it's 3 of the following 4: Drive (2027) ($30): the landspeeder from the promos with Ryan Starfighter, Human Child, and a generic criminal goon. Mia Goth Starfighter ($70): Mia Goth, and either two criminal goons, or if there's no larger ship, one criminal goon and Matt Smith. The Gosfighter ($80): Ryan Starfighter, Human Child, droid/alien sidekick, and Other Good Guy #1. Non-Starfighter Ship ($150-180): Matt Smith, Mia Goth, 2-3 criminal crew, Ryan Starfighter, and Other Good Guy #2. Quote
