Cloud City Lando is quite literally hundreds of dollars on bricklink so yes, we absolutely needed a cloud city set representing a scene he's in. Our last normal Cloud City set was over a decade ago- if this has more than the freezing chamber, it was over two decades ago. This isn't another X-wing or TIE fighter. 1 minute ago, CloneCommando99 said: I simply just don’t think 4 minifig BPs should cost that much. Yeah, even if it was a sizable build, at $30 with 4 figs it's not a battle pack, it's just a lego set that happens to not include named characters. Quote

The initial Death Star II Final Duel set in 2015 set the standard for what good lightsaber duel sets could and should be. It’s no wonder that the 2020 version only iterated on it slightly. I find it great that the Bespin Duel is finally getting a set of its own with what seems to be a similar size / piece count (focusing on the final catwalk segment would be boring IMO). Better to get two Cloud City sets so the segments each of them represent presumably get a good level of detail and representation. That’s another win for 2027 without getting too hyped about sets we haven’t actually seen yet; we’re finally getting more location builds after a long hiatus since 2024. I hope the Starfighter sets give us some cool new trooper types, the leaked descriptions of how Gosling’s character looks in the film should make for an awesome minifigure too. Quote

I hope they dail back on it if it's a normal sized BP, similar to the 332nd battle pack which was rumoured at 27$/€ but got released at 20 $/€. Some retail sites listed it at 27$/€ at release, so it seemed like e legitimate change done by Lego. Quote

Neither of these are going to be slight remakes, they're completely different interpretations/builds. Not to mention that it's not as if we're constantly flood with Cloud City builds, the last decade's cloud city offerings have been an extremely limited release SDCC-intended diorama and a $350 MBS set of which a single figure from it is now worth $300 itself. I definitely would've bought it. Yeah, that's entirely possible. Like we saw with the Helmet Collection before, rather than buried altogether for good, these 18+ sub-themes are merely being put on ice. Although not my first choice, given the similarities to classic play sets in both design and price point, I would definitely cave in for a Dooku Duel Diorama. Oh, that's right. We actually got her in 2015's Anakin's Jedi Custom Starfighter. That makes it even stranger in retrospect. It's weird in a wonderful way. All this time some of us were complaining about the lack of Separatist sets. Like who are all these Republic forces supposed to fight against? Then we have slowly but surely gotten some Separatist representation, but now it's about the lack of Separatist leadership in the minifigure department. We haven't had a proper cloud city playset since 2003. I wish it could have been a $180-200 set in the vein of the 2003 one, but getting modular segments in the style of the excellent location playsets we got in 2024 would be wonderful. And yeah, it's certainly the most unique one compared to "desert" "forest" "snow", or even the death star. I'm sure we would have had the figure either way, but I'm equally sure the designers were happy to see that they can re-use the mold. 20 hours ago, BrickPrick said: I was at the forefront of demanding a modern rendition of Cloud City Lando Calrissian without the need of selling a kidney. He's a very iconic character and it's ridiculous that a normal figure of his most famous outfit has never actually been in a wide-release set. I'm glad lego is finally giving us an affordable lando. Honestly, as much as things like the battle pack's price are awful, this is really shaping up to be one of the best years in the theme's history: First affordable CC Lando, rebel Y-wing after a decade, first cloud city playsets since 2003, first-ever mcquarrie minifigures, first ever george lucas minifigure, star wars movie poster tiles, first Zam Wessell in longer than I've been alive, a return to location playsets, a return to normal OT playsets after two full years without any- but while also giving the prequel era some great playsets. And that's just what we know is coming. We still have a mostly empty 2HY, and even the stuff we know is coming has a lot of as-yet unknown potential. This could be our first ever navy/maroon Anakin outfit. While unlikely, there is an opportunity for force ghosts this year. And I haven't even touched on starfighter. The theme has had a rough two years, but it looks like 2027 isn't just taking us back to formula. It's got the potential to be the best year the theme has ever had. Quote

Yeah I think the modularised approach is the right way to go, it prevents people from being price-locked out of the first Cloud City in ages and hopefully also means that the individual scenes / areas that each set tackles are self contained and fleshed out too. I’m curious to see if we’ll get a full on new mask piece for Luke Starkiller or if they’ll rely on a combination of printing and Cad Bane’s breathing tubes like how they depicted him in the Skywalker Saga game. I’m a sucker for new minifigure helmet / mask pieces so hopefully the former. My sentiments too. I don’t want to get too excited because initial information always leaves plenty to the imagination to inflate our hopes for what sets could be, but from everything we’re hearing this is definitely sounding like the best year so far in the modern era of LSW. It sounds like there’s something for everyone, and we don’t even know what 2HY has in store yet. It’s all sounding good enough that I won’t be extremely disappointed if they skip Ahsoka S2, but I still hope they can squeeze out two sets for it. Quote

It’s all sounding good enough that I won’t be extremely disappointed if they skip Ahsoka S2, but I still hope they can squeeze out two sets for it. I do wonder what the second cloud city set is. I think my best case scenario would be that the $80 duel is the carbon freeze chamber, middle segment, AND catwalk, and then that the second set is one of those $55 location sets of the dining room and a hallway to re-enact some other scenes. Carbonite Han would imply the second set is probably a more fleshed-out carbon freezing chamber, but it isn't necessarily a 100% gurantee, and I struggle to see how they hit a $80 price point if they're only doing the catwalk. When I was looking at art to see whether a mask or print fits better for the actual mask, I found this image that just came out for a mobile game's Luke. The fact that a mobile game will also be adding the concept art characters makes me wonder if there's a coordinated push for mcquarrie stuff before the anniversary/re-release. All that to say, at the very least this art would trend more towards mask than print+tubes. The original art also has a good bit of length in the nose/mouth area. My guess is it'll be a new mold for the mask, but the goggles will be printed onto the head, which I think is a best-case scenario as well. Mostly- the few things we do know about 2HY are all mouth-wateringly good (Ewok Village and Bounty Hunter Pursuit). If they can throw a sequel bone, something from mando, and hell, even a clone thing, we would quite literally have something for everyone as far as the major factions/parts of the franchise go. And that still would leave some room for Ahsoka, Maul, and/or more excellent OT/PT sets. Quote

But like I already implied, I'm eager to learn more about all those juicy details. I thought you're like in your late 20s or something. But I was surprised to find out that @Darth_Bane13 is actually much younger than he appeared to be for me as well. Good maker... I'm actually among the older guys in here. It truly doesn't feel that way to me. That's what ultimately matters most, I suppose. 1 hour ago, CloneCommando99 said: I’m flattered. I think of you as a good chap too. Yeah, likewise. And remember, we will have our TIE Avenger. In this life or the next. And it will be glorious. 1 hour ago, Darth_Bane13 said: Wild card perhaps... I agree with your assessments of everyone here, and CloneCommando's description of you. I'll start with the replies then cap off with some general thoughts on the latest news. (It feels bad that I have to call out my segmentation like this… but as has been established, I am very [S]wordy.) I though the rumor was they were going to have display quote plaques like the diorama sets. If they are dioramas then it makes sense for only figures in the scene to be included. If the lack of a third minifigure in the JSF allowed them to keep the price down then I don't mind too much. It's been a minute, but I do recall the original rumors called them both out as playsets—at most it'll be a hyrbid of the diorama and playset concepts. [Just referenced the new rumors, and yep, sure enough.] If they are supposed to be dioramas I suppose two figures makes sense, but that only highlights the issue with the diorama concept to begin with that they are self-limiting (in my opinion needlessly so). I guess my view is that if a JSF included a third figure at that price before, they could do it again—and especially a fanfavourite villian would help the JSF fly off shelves (pun half-intended). TLG know their own costs better than we, I suppose. On 6/27/2026 at 8:56 PM, Alex_South said: learned about it from the behind the scenes stuff after seeing the M&G movie and it's a very cool tribute to an obscure model that was never used in ANH, but finding out it was never used in ANH and the recent figure rumors has me a little worried they are just going to do gold leader again. I was looking at the color scheme, and it seems like a toy version of the color scheme would be a really interesting mix of reds/greys/yellow/white and then copper greebling, it would look amazing in my opinion. I thought the Y-wing for TROS looked cool, but I am also wondering how this new one's build will look. Agreed on all points. Now it's been confirmed that Gold Leader is included, and while they could do a Red Jammer anyway, they'll probably play the hit exactly like they have before. (Regardless, it's LEGO, so anyone can rebuild it to match the QT-KT droid for all anyone cares.) I had forgotten that particular set. To my understanding, the RoS Y-Wing was designed in-universe to mimic the rugged Y-Wings of the Rebellion, so that polished-greebling is represented there rather than truly messy mechanics and wires. On 6/26/2026 at 9:25 AM, Mandalorianknight said: At this point, Mando- while not nearly as bad- does have an interesting parallel to it. Mando's current state is the result of being too safe and corporatized, making it feel like the show was produced by accountants rather than showrunners. Acylote was the result of taking some bad risks and giving the showrunner too much control. A story like TMAG doesn't work because it simply has nothing going on- it's too safe, they don't try anything. Characters from other stuff show up to remind you that they exist, but nobody does anything, nobody grows as a character. (I'll again say, at the very least, Mando should have painted his armor.) With Acolyte, they tried the wrong things, and let the showrunner do things that hurt pre-existing stories, concepts, and characters. It leads to slightly different outcomes- people will forget TMAG, while acolyte will be notorious- but in both cases it's a financial loss for the studio and a critical failure with existing fans. I wouldn't mind either of them, but I think the best move is a glup shitto Y-wing pilot like Dex or Ryle. (And then both biggs and wedge in a trench run set?) Oh- no, it originally comes from a show/comic called jujutsu kaisen. One of the characters, Megumi, is constantly built up as having the potential to be one of the strongest in the show, but at least for the first few seasons doesn't really live up to it, hence the original meme, which put his face on superman's body alongside various jokes/memes about the discrepancy between what we're told he'll eventually be able to do and what he actually does. Phoenix from X-men adopted this template as well, with a focus on how in the comics she and/or the phoenix force is constantly dying and coming back to life, and of course now it's pretty widespread for any character that's considered a fraud or overrated. So it probably has wrapped back around to just straight-up Henry Cavill Superman, though much like the original potential man meme I actually liked his character too. That's probably true about Ahsoka, but I just sort of considered it her getting older and more mentor-like as time went on, especially after she turned into Ahsoka the White. She probably is the worst offender translating to live action- I think Rosiario Dawson is good in other stuff but miscast- but as I've said before Ahsoka is the least interesting character in the Ahsoka show to me. I preferred the final episodes where she really did become a gandalf the white style character and Ezra and Sabine took focus. It's certainly possible, but I'm going to hold out hope on this one. The anniversary figs have had new molds before and star wars is generally pretty good about giving us new molds when a character needs one. The bigger concern for me is that that'll be the ONLY change- it needs at the very least navy blue lines instead of grey ones, but I'd personally like to see navy robes. I guess they could just call her mcquarrie Leia and then also do the hallway fight Starkiller as Luke, but the female starkiller is the least interesting design to me given they've basically done slight recolors to that outfit for canon Leia costumes. It's not like Vader or Stormtrooper where there's something that just feels unique and non-canon about it, or Han/Luke/Chewie where it's just a completely different guy. (C-3PO and R2 don't interest me much either for the same reasons) Very true. I would counter that as for myself, I don't even think about the Acolyte all that much. It's a dark stain on a shirt called Star Wars which I've worn for so long, the imperfections have stopped registering to me. As for M&G, I have yet to watch the film, so I don't have any thoughts at all. I hope an actual story is developed for these characters going forward, because I'd rather revisit the show than watch less-meaningful filler. Well, ended up that all we got is Gold Leader, lol. (Not even Porkins… that's it, I'm calling in the Blacktron strike force.) Thank you for explaining the lore. I wish I had more to say other than that's… fantastic. Which is a shame given that the whole purpose of a show whose title is a character… is the entitled character. (Which points to a larger issue where they should go back to the pulpy titling of the episodic films… but anyway.) I did like Ahsoka the White, and perhaps Dawson can win me over eventually (she is no Ashley Eckstein, though). Agreed. There are some prints online that make Vader look more black (for instance the photo assigned with the leak on Instagram), but navy blue would not only make him more accurate but more novel in general. Luckily, it seems they've done the best of both scenarios by offering up both the female and hallway-fight Starkillers. Despite being (I believe) the first to mention her, she's probably my least desirable concept fig. Artoo will be the most boring, although I appreciate how C-3PO's concept art offers a very 50s-sci-fi design. Now the news: On 6/23/2026 at 6:07 AM, Swordy said: Given Starfighter is an unknown commodity, I wonder if TLG will limit it's exposure to 3 sets—if that. Out of all the things I've predicted over the past two years on Eurobricks… WHY THIS ONE??? I think we'll see the three will be the hero starship, the landspeeder and a buildable Grog—erm, character/droid. Mia Goth's character might show up along Gosling's starship, and I doubt we'll see more than Ryan and the kid in the landspeeder. Remember when Star Wars movies were guaranteed six at minimum sets? Demolition Dummy remembers… I'm in love with the buildable Boba Fett. I'd much rather that the price had been the same as 76344 Iron Man from January, but a discount or May 4th promo can help overcome that. The UCS SSD would've been a dream set of mine a few years back… alas, I was gifted the UCS ISD since then, so I feel my need for grey triangles has been fulfilled. The figures look very nice, of course—that Bossk especially—although I've already collected previous iterations of everyone but Zuckess so I'm content. The 2027 Y-Wing is a must now that it's known Mon Mothma and Luke Starkiller (let's go!) will be included. Midi-scale Death Star II is a dream come true. Maybe they'll throw us a wild bone and include Galen and Krennic. Contrary to seemingly many on the forum, I'm looking forward to the SW theater—to fill out my growing LEGO City and represent my love for SW, yes, but also because the Palace Cinema has been a white whale of mine for years, and this might prove an obtainable alternative. The BTS set with George Lucas and pink shorts guy is possibly a Day 1 purchase; price and budget pending, as always. The theatrical A New Hope poster may be my favourite poster of all time, so I look forward to its execution into LEGO. I'm disappointed that the highly desirable McQuarrie Vader will be exclusive to a set I don't otherwise want… such is collecting. Am I reading correctly that we'll see Bespin Leia, Lando, and Han next year? This is splendid—perhaps the LEGO is listening. (If so, might I suggest the TIE AVENGER piloted by Mara Jade, Maul: Shadow Lord sets including an extra figure of Mara Jade, Darth Plagueis dueling Mara Jade, Jek Porkins with his diet instructor Mara Jade, and an upscaled figure of Mara Jade piloted by the one and only Mara Jade.) As of now, I plan to at some point or another pick up the Y-Wing, Cloud City with Lando, George Lucas Tribute, SW Movie Theater, Midi-Scale DSII, and Anakin's JSF. (That Ewok Village and Bounty Hunter pursuit better come… ) Quote

Zam Wesell, General Skywalker and Cloud City Lando are now my top three most wanted minifigs for 2027. Quote

(That Ewok Village and Bounty Hunter pursuit better come… ) Always happy to see you come to town, so to speak. Keep the walls of text coming, because oftentimes they're a lot more eloquently put than whatever I'm trying to sputter out. True- I don't exactly think about acolyte on a daily basis- but it is something that is more memorable than TMAG, a movie I have literally forgotten about multiple times now- I keep thinking the only movie I've seen in theatres this year so far is Project Hail Mary a few times. To be fair, I am totally fine with only getting one pilot if it means the other character is Luke Starkiller. That'd be like if the next TIE unfortunately couldn't include Motti because it instead had MARA JADE. ...say that again? YES. I don't see this brought up nearly enough, but there's no creativity in these titles anymore. Not just the titles themselves, which are all character names, but most of these shows just have title cards rather than actual opening titles. The Ahsoka end credits are amazing, why couldn't we have gotten a title sequence with a similar aesthetic? It'll be interesting to see what they go with. I think we're guaranteed either a new helmet mold or navy robes (because otherwise it's just normal vader), but could easily get both. Yeah- being the least interesting character in a selection of extremely desirable figures doesn't mean she's necessarily an undesirable figure herself. I'm glad we get both. It is a really nice build. I'm flip flopping on whether or not I get it, and regardless it'll probably end up being a 2027 purchase, but it is very well-built. I cannot describe how happy it makes me that the set I wanted most gets the mcquarrie fig I wanted most. Mon is a nice bonus too- and honestly I don't believe I even have a Dutch Vander figure, so the whole selection is a win for me. I'm a little surprised you don't want bespin duel, but at the very least, it's cheaper than the Luke minifigure statue so it won't be as bad if you try to get him secondhand. With the caveat that I believe it's possible Han is white shirt han. I'm holding out hope that the duel's price is because it includes the freezing chamber, and that the other CC set is a $55 one that's primarily the dining room, but even if the latter is just the carbon freeze chamber it'll still be a solid set. I misread this slightly and thought you were suggesting the TIE Avenger be piloted by Maul: Shadow Lord sets, which would be interesting to see- provided the figure list included Mara Jade. (And Rook Kast) How many sets have you picked up the last few years? It really seems like at least among the more hardcore fans lego's going to be making a lot more next year. (I mean, this january alone I'll either be matching or exceeding my retail lego purchases of the past three years) 2 hours ago, BrickPrick said: Ha, that's what I thought about @Mandalorianknight.
