First images of Boba Fett, Zuckuss, 4-LOM, Darth Vader and Dengar have just appeared....

They aren't the best quality, but I can't see that they're anything special.  IG-88 isn't shown so hopefully the set will include Admiral Piett as well - he was my favouite from 10221.

They have yellow cockpits in the 2008 TCW show but black ones in the 2003 CW show. So definitely all 2008 TCW based, and I was just correlating them in my mind as both having originated from the 03 show (along with clone armor Obi-Wan, albiet- like ventress and the ship- a different design for the concept). Though to be fair, it wouldn't be the first time lego's randomly done a clone wars 03 set.

I think it could be considered a Clone Wars movie set, since Obi wan and Ventress duel on Teth in those outfits.

Carbonite Han is supposed to be included though. If anything it will be the freezing chamber.

True, I didn't see that. It would make sense.

I've just noted that Darth Vader is listed in both 75494 (Cloud City) and 75480 (Bespin Duel) so I doubt that they'll be designed to be connected together.

It's a bit of a shame if that's correct, as a modular-type approach could have worked well, but it's still excellent news that we're getting them!  I'm particularly excited by the prospect of the new Cloud City, as with 5(+) minifigures it should be a decent size - after having so few Bespin-related sets I really don't mind how expensive it is! :classic:

I don't think that necessarily means they aren't. Vader is an integral part of pretty much every cloud city scene that involves conflict besides the escape at the end, which would just be a bunch of hallways. I imagine they could have one repeated fig and still be compatible.

Ultimately I think the movie and series "count" as one thing- brickset and bricklink certainly consider them as one- but yes, both the movie and show feature these designs for the characters and ship.

The other executor hunters leaked, and for the life of me I can't tell if they're different from the previous versions of those figures. (Aside from 4-Lom's neck bracket and this guy having Zuckuss's skirt backwards.) Not that that's bad- it just speaks to how well the previous versions were done. I would say hopefully Zuckuss's secondhand price decreases, but coming in a set so expensive probably won't lower that $30-40 price tag much.

Yeah for sure, it just gave me TCW movie vibes.

Yeah, but it would still make more sense to me to replace vader with a stormtrooper in the regular Bespin set?

Anybody else notices how sparingly Lego seems to be these days with regular stormtroopers?

Yeah just look at the older play scale Star Destroyers, they came with two while the newer one came with one.

Yeah I don’t necessarily think the inclusion of Vader in both Cloud City-related sets precludes both sets being compatible. As @Mandalorianknight says, Vader is an important character in most of the major Bespin-related scenes in TESB anyway.

I do agree getting a stormtrooper instead would be preferable, but not everyone will be buying both those sets anyway so I kind of understand it. If anything it does go to show that outside of certain characters like Mando and Grogu, this theme does a really good job at not excessively duplicating minifigures across sets. Compare that to how Lego Marvel has been over the past few years where plenty of minifigures are recycled endlessly (although the theme has seen a substantial improvement this year).

Additionally, given that the April Cloud City set includes Han in Carbonite, having the Carbon Freezing Chamber being represented in that set seems like a given, which means it’s not represented in the Bespin Duel set. Plus if Bespin Duel is supposedly a ‘tall’ set, I’ll be interested to see how Cloud City connects to it if the Carbon Freezing Chamber is at the topmost point of Luke and Vader’s duel. Maybe different segments across both sets will be modular in nature so they can be stacked or connected alongside each other.

Why do we fall down? So we can learn to pick our TIE Avenger back up.

You better have lived long enough to see yourself become the villain on day #451. Or maybe 452 if you want to make a Fahrenheit 451 reference about lego burning instruction manuals in favor of the digital ones tomorrow. (I assume the title stays the same even in Celsius countries)

Not necessarily, vader is a major character and more of a draw for most people.

Yes. We're in dire need of a stormtrooper battle pack.

Yup, there aren't really any scenes you could do without him besides the first meeting with Lando, and the build for that would just be a landing pad. Maybe a small playset of the droid scrapping room.

Yes, they have the budget to be pretty good about this most of the time. Which makes the constant mando all the more puzzling- he doesn't need to be in sets like the shuttle.

I assume cloud city (not duel) will connect to the bottom of the duel set, right? And then if it's "tall", it probably ends with the area represented in the 2020 exclusive set.

I think Dooku's odds are increasing with every new update we get about the coming sets. It really seems like lego is giving this anniversary the celebration it deserves, so so long as we can get one geonosis set or some sort of clone trooper vehicle, he's got a shot.

I predicted his return for 2026, which obviously won't happen anymore, but I don't care... I'm just gonna keep predicting his long overdue reappearance until it does. Recency bias aside, the chances of this happening didn't exactly decrease with the newest leaks. Even though, talking about an Episode II set and all, I prefer to learn more concrete confirmation of the Bounty Hunter Pursuit being alive and well. And still due to release a bit later on. This is the one non-negotiable 2027 set for me.

I thought about this as well. But ended up mashing both the TCW movie and show together anyways.

Unless it's a much bigger build than usual, the figure count of the newly leaked Cloud City set seems too substantial for it being a mere Freezing Chamber. Maybe it's a Remake of the 2003 original, minus the modular Duel section sold separately? Kinda tough to tell without both the price point and piece count.

It's wild to see another Zuckuss minifigure after all this time. That's probably one of my most valuable figures to date. It's even more wild how many people keep putting the skirt piece the wrong way.

I think it'd be cool to get him in a 'Duel on the Invisible Hand' set.

Yep, I always thought about this less likely option as well. You have this, the obvious Duel on Geonosis, the illusive Petranaki-Arena, his Solar Sailor, something TCW related you can always throw him in... I dunno, there doesn't exactly appear to be any shortage of sets you could include the Count. And since Ventress' out-of-nowhere inclusion I have no doubts that his reappearance is happening sooner rather than later.

Not impossible, but I agree with @BrickPrick, the other options are all more likely.

  • The duel with Yoda is a proven concept with two previous iterations and having Dooku‘s speederbike is a plus for a playset.
  • The Petranaki arena is long overdue and while I don‘t think we‘ll see a full set anytime soon, they could release a smaller set with one or two of the creatures plus some scenery.
  • The Solar Sailor is again a proven concept, even though it lacked the eponymous sail. Maybe they could make it work this time, even if it obviously wouldn‘t be in scale.
  • A TCW set is fairly likely. While TCW sets have changed a lot between 2008 and now, one thing that‘s been very consistent throughout the years is the inclusion of random characters :snicker: Scene-accurate TCW  sets have always been the exception rather than the norm.

The duel on the Invisible Hand could work as a diorama, but I’m not sure how well it’d do as a playset. The scenery is very similar to the throne room duel with a “throne”, a giant staircase, and a collapsing platform. The figures are different, sure, but the set itself likely wouldn’t look very distinctive.

Day #451 of enduring this TIE Avenger-less dystopia.

Avengers Doomsday poster was published. I can’t really work with it so I’ll wait for one with more characters.

Give me Endor BP news pretty please.

What? You don’t remember Ahsoka and the 212th fighting together on Umbara? Or that time the Wolfpack used AV-7s on Chrystophosis? Or when Yoda, Quinlan Vos and the Wolfpack were all stationed on a frigate?

I'd be happy to get any of these, I just want a Dooku.

The question is, what TCW set would they include Dooku in? If there's room for an extra minifig in a clone wars set, I think a clone trooper is most likely. I'm still annoyed we got Bly and Aayla in the MTT instead of actual separatist figures.

Nice.

I'm sure we'll get a floating heads one soon enough- you could always do that one the lead concept artist posted where it's just each group kind of loosely floating around doom. It'd be funny if the teaser one was you as Doom and the wife and son were Mara Jade and a TIE Avenger.

That is the issue- they're so clone-focused that anything else gets stuck.

The best odds are any of those $50-80 starfighters. I could see them slotting Dooku into a headhunter, vulture droid+tri-droid 2-pack, magnaguard starfighter, etc. Not all of those sound like the most likely ships, but neither did the torrent, so you never know.

I think I'd prefer a Solar Sailor over any of those. The old version hasn't held up very well.
