Really? This is what you’re concerned about? Normal battlepacks are now $30 and you’re complaining about us getting main character minifigs who haven’t been available in play-scale sets for around 3 years? (Leia)

Endor BP. Sounds great and perfect for me as I’ve been asking for exactly a 9489 remake for ages… but not at that price. Thus the monkey’s paw curls.

I find it interesting that they’re opting to include Mcquarrie figure variants of characters who have normal figs in their sets (Mcquarrie Han was the original Obi-Wan). I’d have expected them to have no character overlap like with the 20th anniversary figs.

That price hike isn’t great either, but yeah, an entire wave without a single new character or at least a signifcant new variant is pretty much unheard of  Well, apart from this year’s Smart Brick wave, but I think everyone’s glad there were no exclusive minifigs included :snicker:

Not even an updated Mon Mothma or something? Booooooring

Eurghhhh, my manifestation powers are at it again, but this time not in a good way :hmpf_bad: The minifig selection is extremely boring, beside the concept art minifigs, and even those sound rather unexciting too tho. Luke Starkiller must come in a later wave then. Why did I have to be right??

  • Mustafar Duel: Anakin, Obi-Wan, concept art Han
  • Y-Wing: Leia, 2 pilots, astromech
  • JSF: Anakin, R2
  • Endor BP: Stormie, Scout Trooper, 2 Rebels
  • Bespin Duel: Vader, Luke, concept art Vader

Woof, that's rough.  It's odd that the anniversary figures are only in a couple of the sets - I get not including any in the BP, but I'm surprised that they didn't throw one into the Jedi Starfighter, because I can't really see many long time fans picking that one up.  It's a valid set to remake, but we've had both a Delta and an Eta since 2020, so anyone that's been into LSW for >5 years probably ha at least one.  The Bespin Duel minifigures especially are a bit of a letdown, I was really hoping that it would include more of the carbon freeze chamber area, but with this minifigure selection, it seems less likely.  Still possible, but 2 minifigures in a $70 set sounds like more "diorama" than "playset" to me.

I'm guessing the summer wave's anniversary figs will be Luke, C-3PO, R2, and Chewbacca?

Yup. That's extremely concerning, because it implies the $23 battle packs have been selling so well they think they can get away with $30 for a faction they have no recent BP sales history of. That just took me from easy 4-copy day 1 to "maybe if there's a few on sale" and going to bricklink to snap up some of the thankfully still cheap 2012 era rebels.

It's such a good figure selection... for $15 to $20. The good news is, it's not a clone battle pack, so without the frenzy, there's a good shot the two of us will be picking these up at $18 apiece before the august wave releases.

It is very interesting, but I don't mind it. Since they're different enough variants, it feels like a rare slightly consumer-friendly move- it's likely that someone wanting the bespin duel set would think the vader variant is cool, unlike... you know... Malak in R2-D2.

Aside from the fact that the price hike to $30 is pretty significant.... come on, man. Concept Art Han is functionally a new character and at the very least is a HUGELY significant new variant- you're gonna tell me that a bearded blonde man in a blue suit and cape with brown chestplate isn't a significant variant from your stock Han? I'll at the least give you that we don't know whether or not the Vader will be significantly different, but he has a pretty good chance as well.

Plus there being 2 Y-wing pilots in the Y-wing more or less confirms that we're getting a new character. The ANH Y-wings have only ever come with Dutch, so we're almost guaranteed either Dex, Evaan, Davish (The "stay on target" guy), Lepira, Hol, or Ryle. Maybe not the most visually different one... but if you're looking for visual difference, again, the fig in the mustafar duel may have the name han solo but it's an entirely different character, powerset, and costume. I would say at the very least it's better than just Dodanna.

My thoughts:

Anakin's JF: Unfortunate, but if the anakin figure itself is a knockout this could still be good. Given the endor news I am worried this delta is downsized from the 2022 one, which would be fine for the vehicle in a vacuum but not at $30

Endor BP: Lego just lost $120 I was gonna give them January 1st.

Mustafar: Depends on the build here, I think. If it's worth $40 it'll be an immediate buy, but given the endor pack I'm worried.

Y-wing: Good selection. I would have preferred an anniversary figure, but it seems those will be relegated to iconic moment sets with quote tiles, so I get it. Definite buy since my current Y-wing is almost as old as I am, it's good to see Leia on shelves again and I'm happy to pick up some more pilots- I don't have a Dutch, and the other pilot is guaranteed to be brand new to lego!

Bespin duel: Unfortunately low figure count, I'm interested to see what the build is- I'm wondering if this and mustafar are collector-focused if not overtly part of the diorama collection. Another one that'll depend on the build for me.

I think Stormtrooper is also a near-gurantee- they already have the shield piece and while he'll need a new helmet it's one they can use for canon TK troopers.

Not really. They could easily include an X-Wing pilot we’ve had before. The helmet should prevent it from being a completely generic character, but I’m not gonna get excited over a slight helmet variation

Concept Han is still the least interesting one of the bunch, apart from concept Threepio perhaps. Gimme concept Chewy, Luke, or Stormie instead! :snicker:

Maybe the $30 battle pack will have more substantial builds than normal? The $23 battle packs usually have around 100-120 pieces, maybe this one will have 200-250ish pieces? If they actually just raised the standard battle pack by $7 that would be pretty insane.

I freaking knew it the moment I saw that price tag! I thought I might have gone too crazy for even considering it, but nope... 50% price increase for regular Battle Packs, everybody! Lego must have thought they couldn't sell the regular ones for like half the price compared to the bigger ones. So it's only natural that you significantly raise the price of the former.  If true and there's nothing more to it, they can honestly go force themselves with their sickening corporate greed. Now you need 33% discount to just reach the old Euro price point you may still feel uncomfortable with.

As excited as I was for some of the sets themselves, I must admit these minifigure line-ups are unbelievably uninspiring. There is like zero element of surprise at play here. Nothing beyond the ordinary. Of course you don't get another figure for both The Duel on Mustafar and Bespin. It's obviously just Anakin and R2 again for the Starfighter... at least the former will probably be a standout figure. Not too sure about the Y-Wing, but it doesn't sound promising.

As a first impression, I'm actually a little angry. They had the chance to do something amazing and it took only some tweaks here and there to achieve it, but apparently they didn't. They blew it. Yes, there are still some actual builds behind the sets and some potentially cool anniversary figures. But right now I'm not filled with the utmost confidence that they will be enough to make me get some of these things.

This seems a little harsh, the figure selections are pretty standard, not necessarily sub par. I'd argue the concept art figs are beyond the ordinary. Not trying to shill for Lego here or anything, but we've yet to see any pictures so these sets could still turn out well.

The figure selection has pretty much turned me off to all these sets. The bp price rise is unacceptable. I think I’ve just saved a lot of money with this new info.

in just praying that (trying not to be a dick) but the prices are just US only and the rest of us are would get these at somewhere more normal.

In the past we’d get just that little bit extra to justify it. You know like a random separatist leader in the duel, a random bespin charcter in the Luke/vader set, a third figure in the Jedi SF.

I’d argue they are sub-par since they’ve usually tried to do something interesting with at least one of the figs. The 2021 TIE Fighter for instance could’ve included just a Stormie and a TIE pilot, but they also included the black protocol droid. Nothing new of course, but still a nice bonus. The 2023 TIE Bomber came with Rae Sloane, the 2022 Hoth AT-ST had a snow-covered Chewy variant and an unseen AT-ST driver variant.

This on the other hand is the most basic minifig selection imaginable. No interesting rare side characters, not even any recycled minifigs from larger sets that most people usually see as a win :snicker:

They easily could’ve added Dooku in the JSF, ROTS Padmé or a high-ranking separatist in the Mustafar Duel, an Ugnaught or Lando in the Bespin Duel, or Mon Mothma in the Y-Wing. But NOPE

I agree with this 100% they’ve done it in the past and the fact they aren’t doing it now baffles me. Even the JSF, the last one we had Ashoka, Anakin and a droid, the RTG one had Jedi bob, the ackbar trooper and a droid, obi wan had him, a droid and a kaminoan. Think of the last y wing from R1 that had so many more figures than just pilots.

even the BP right that should be one of their super pack ones with 3 of each faction. Scout troopers with a speeder and rebels with a little turret build that would probably justify the price tag. Again like it’s a mixed battle pack for factions that haven’t had a lot of attention which is why o think a super pack would probably get them more sales and more money as people could probably justify the RRP. Whereas this alone with 4 figures most sensible people will wait until it goes 20, 25, 30% off in a sale.

im glad that the wave has a lot of normal system sets but they are just basic the bare minimum for maximum RRP they think they can get away with and they do every bloody year

Don’t get me wrong, I still love the idea of the concept art minifigs, but it’s disappointing to see such a bare-bones minifig selection apart from them. I don’t think we’ve ever had a wave where every set just had the bare minimum :hmpf_bad:

I mean, look at it: the two duel sets only have the duelists, the JSF and BP have the absolute lowest-possible minimum, and a $80 hardly could’ve gotten away with fewer than 3 minifigs and an astromech. SW is pretty much always stingy with its minifigs, but this is really stingy, even for this theme :snicker:

Well yeah, a standard figure selection wouldn't have been as noticable in any other year, but for the 50th year of Lego Star Wars I expected more than this. Yeah, that's where the anniversary figures come in, but when it's pretty obvious they're not a bonus and just replace a regular figure from the set, you got nothing left. It's overall appeal shouldn't wholly depend on that. As assumed, it killed the third figure in the Mustafar Duel and I'm actually sick of getting three figures in a supposed $80 play set for the Bespin Duel. Yes, the actual builds might turn out solid and tip me over sooner or later. But this seems to be such a shame. As Lego clearly thought about this whole thing and wanted to do something special. But the minifigure line-ups just doesn't live up to that when all I can see so far is the bare minimum.

Welp, that's disappointing. I went from being excited over the prospect of fresh minifigs alongside iconic playsets… to now deciding which sets to grab on discount or pass altogether. The set selection is certainly wonderful, but now I question whether everyone of these could've been priced ≈20% cheaper if TLG was going to skimp out on minifigs. The prospect of quality over quantity is moot; I sincerely doubt we'll see arm printing on the likes of a Princess Leia or Obi-Wan, and I don't believe additional anniversary figures should ever count towards a set's price.

Anakin's Starfighter hurts most of all. Go ahead, rub it in my face, those who said Dooku wasn't going to happen… :sadnew: With only one unique figure, the set verges on overpriced for me. Depending on the accuracy of the Anakin figure (at this moment I doubt whether they can bring themselves to do the red and blue), I'll likely buy when it goes on sale.

The Y-Wing, like @Mandalorianknight and I were last discussing (last month ), is an essential aspect of any ANH celebration—I'm glad that was proven right. The minifig selection is the worst case scenario in my eyes, though; it's only saving grace would be if Wedge or BIGGS(!) is the second Rebel pilot (we can't have a ANH Y-Wing without Dutch, right…?).

I would really hope they do RedJammer as an homage to the first Y wing prop ILM ever made and the colors are more fun Red and Yellow,

Thank you for bringing it up (I think you were first too); my dream LEGO Y-Wing has been the Red Jammer for it's history behind the scenes as well as the epic colourway. In this case and this case alone, the build will absolutely make or break this set for me.
Speaking of which, I'm intrigued to see how the greebling will be accomplished this go around, what with all the new odd pieces at their disposal.

The Endor BP at $30 is outright disgusting. BPs have been envisioned as cheap ways to obtain a lot of characters, and no amount of superlative bricks which can be provided in a more substantial fashion elsewhere will make up for the price increase. Otherwise, I quite enjoy the fact that Endor rebels are back; perhaps some Ewoks should've been included too but I won't wade into that discussion.

The Mustafar Duel at $40 and Bespin at $80 sounded very intriguing at first. After learning that the characters of each will be limited to the participants of said duel only makes me A) skeptical of anything exciting build-wise and B) lament the loss of $20 duel sets. The worst part is that both of these include the concept art figures—TLG are playing their cards right, I suppose, but it turns the celebration into a gimmick.

MiFi is overpriced, but decent to see one.

No thoughts on the Vader art or Upscaled Luke other than "Wait and see," which I presume is more positive than anyone else. :roflmao:

So we've got a pretty good chunk of the 2027 spread across these leaks. From the Smart Brick, the ones thought to be this year and this most recent leaked sets. Might not be much more than Starfighter sets left. And do you know what I'm noticing? No clones. Really think 2025 was pretty much doing whatever they had left in the tank and moving on.

That's true, and a bit worrisome. Given Starfighter is an unknown commodity, I wonder if TLG will limit it's exposure to 3 sets—if that.

As for the lack of clones; also true, but I believe that reveals the flaw in TLG's strategy. All clones one year, then next-to-none in the next doesn't create balance, but a wave of complete interest then total disinterest. (Not to mention all of these sets retire at different rates anyway.) I'd rather see a little here, a little there than spurting out a repetitive wave laser-focused on one era. At some point, people will complain about the lack of P2 clones (they already are, in fact). Some of these 2025 and 2027 sets could've swapped spots and I think world peace would've been made.

Oh yeah, and the Sandcrawler and AT-AT were revealed while I was gone. To put it briefly, I love them both. Even despite owning and preferring the TESB variant, the new AT-AT still proves to be rather tempting. I'll definitely buy the Sandcrawler for the fact that I don't already have one, the build finally accomplishes the perfect playscale model of this vessel, and I needed Kuiil and the Mudalorian yesterday.

Forget saving the groans on the twice-the-pride-double-the-fall, I've been so broken by nerd culture that just seeing the word "potential" makes the Fantastic 4 "say that again" meme flash into my mind.

Yeah, at times it felt like they took who Sabine was and shunted it to the side to give Ahsoka an apprentice. But I also can buy that after losing Ezra she cut herself off from her people and religion- which also helps with the fact that she didn't ever show up in Mando. (Though that's more on Mando, it's ridiculous that Bo doesn't seem like she gathered anyone beyond her own clan in the attempt to retake mandalore)

I get that at this point we SHOULD hold off for the time being... but I want both. One of the reasons I've been advocating for a big flagship-price-point Trench Run set with the X-wing, a TIE, the Advanced, and an exhaust port/turbolaser turret. The Y-wing I think realistically just has to happen if lego even remotely knows ball, it's been so long since the last one, and was one of the first 5 sets. (If we don't get a trench run set, packing it with the advanced as an anniversary throwback would be nice.)

Yavin IV MBS set would be awesome, it's a shame how infrequently we get that style of set. It could definitely include a lot of pilots we don't typically get, though I don't think we'd see more than 6 of them in a single set given how similar they are. The designers could maybe be sneaky and throw in a rack of pilot helmets somewhere to get us the clean-shaven OT pilots, and then make more facially distinct ones like Biggs, Porkin, etc the included figs so we could purist the rest with generic pilot faces.

I'm very much looking forward to the sandcrawler and it may be the only non-gimmick SW set this year (or since march 2024, actually) that I buy. Though I intend on sticking a ton of random brown plates and tiles to the exterior to cover ~60% of the surface.

Potential Man in a Fant4stic meme? In this economy?

Agreed there. Felt like everyone but Ezra had their personality sucked out of them—and only because Paul Eman Esfandi is quite possibly Ezra himself. I always thought too that Sabine took Ezra's request of protecting Lothal to heart and would've stayed there forever—unless Ezra could be brought back.

Good thing that LEGO knew ball then.
A D2C Trench Run in '27 would be incredibly cool. I doubt if TLG'll ever go that far for an anniversary besides their own, although I see a nonzero chance of it happening.

Excellent point; I was being a little too greedy about extra Rebel pilot minifigs.  At any rate, getting all of Red Squadron via one set would be an unbelievable dream come true.
Hang on, strike what I said about Biggs(!) or Wedge. It's Porkins in the 2027 Y-Wing or we raid Billiund.

I might do the same. Even in the Mando episode, it still looks brown to me; it's this and Doc Ock's grey coat that make me question the LEGO designer's eyesight. (I kid, I kid… but seriously.)

Regardless of the circumstances surrounding them, I am beyond hyped for anniversary figures. Most anticipating Darth Vader, the Stormtrooper and maybe Starkiller (see below). I'm expecting new molds for each and all of these characters, unique lightsaber blades, arm prints and dual molding—the works.
I am curious whether we'll see Luke Starkiller (as seen in that iconic original concept art with him facing Vader) or the female Starkiller as seen in art alongside Jedi Han and Zebacca. I pled for the former, but for reasons of inclusion I'd understand the latter.

Didn't want to speculate before getting additional leaks, and I still hope some key details are still missing, but the news are a huge disappointment so far.

The lineup wasn't perhaps the most exciting for people who are collecting Star Wars for years, but fitting for an anniversary plus we'll be getting the concept art special figures. I'm fine with that.

But 4 figures in a 30€ battlepack, basically 7,50€ for a regular soldier, just crazy. This is certainly not a cheap playset for kids anymore... I don't expect any significant side builds at this stage. Just a speeder + a tree. I really think Lego just wants to minimize the losses related to smart play. Everything else seems very expensive too.

And the low figure count is another downgrade - again; Anakin's starfighter - no 3rd (anniversary) figure really?; only 4 figs in the 80€ Y-wing, no alien figure of course. If we get 4 Ewoks in the Ewok village I'll be surprised...

It’s possible that Disney has been increasing the licensing fee quite a bit after M&G’s abysmal box office to recuperate profits. But this is likely just corporate greed from Lego.

That or recent escapades in a certain desert region disrupting 25% of the world’s oil and the newly announced tolls on oil have increased the costs of making Lego bricks (which requires oil). Still unacceptable though.

Surely Lego realises that there’s a bubble that’s going to pop at some point when it comes to these prices. I’m now just even more amazed the AT AT is the price it is.

I honestly don't mind it, it's the figures you would expect with a Y-wing. Wedge or Biggs would both be nice, though as a Y-wing I was kind of expecting it to be a new Y-wing pilot, which would also be nice.

In every economy. (I'm seemingly one of like three fans of the character... but given that all my previous favorites in that show were either gruesomely killed or rendered powerless I probably should just join in on the potential man memes)

I would say Sabine's the only member of the rebels crew that had much of a personality change there- Hera and Chopper felt the same, while not in the show Zeb feels the same, and like you said, it's like they were modeling Ezra after his live-action actor the whole time.

At least with this one set, yeah. I agree the trench run is not particularly likely, but I do think it would sell just fine a the least.

Bigfig Porkins or lego clearly doesn't care about the fans.

It's a case where, as much as people whine, lego clearly does try to cater to people who own previous versions of all the sets. It's the same with the MTT, going with the much less iconic grey version because they've done the more iconic brown one before. (And in both cases, realistically the fig selection would work with either color.)

I'm worried they won't do Mcquarrie vader justice, but the stormtrooper and Luke Starkiller should be sick.

I hadn't even thought about that particular way Lego could drop the ball, but you're right, the mcquarrie art doesn't really have any female characters. That said, Luke Starkiller is probably second only to mcquarrie vader in terms of the popularity and merch, and subjectively his design is the coolest and most different from the actual character. (Aside from Jedi Han. Or Alien Han) I think we still probably get him.

Everyday I wake up, I start to break up. Lonely is a man without TIE Avenger. (Especially on the 424th day.)

I also realised I missed the chance to roast the Lime 212th reskin 2 days ago.

Excellent meme today. (Though isn't it the 442nd? You still have time)

I don't believe that's how the licensing fee works, nor do I think that disney would react to a movie bombing by increasing the licensing fees, since TMAG failing shows a lack of confidence in the brand that would imply such a change wouldn't help them much. So this is 100% a case of lego believing they can just gouge more out of the army builders.

The unevenness of the prices implies that isn't the case. I guess it's possible the Y-wing and JSF are just tiny now, but given that they've been trying this stuff for battle packs forever I think it's more likely they're just continuing to push their luck.

I blame Clone Bros /s (except I do wonder if the 327th BP’s success did have a hand in this)

It has to have done so. If it sold well at such an absurd price, of course lego thinks they can continue to get away with this.

Both duel sets also have concept art figures, and the prior versions also only had the duelist. The JSF with 1 figure and an Astromech used to just be the standard, a third figure is cool but not really necessary. Both previous Anakin starfighters had the same figure selection. Like it would be cool to get these extra figures but I don't think they're super necessary to their respective sets.

The Endor battle pack is the most disappointing because it's so expensive to army build at $30 for 4 figs.

The battle pack only having 4 minifigures is disappointing but not surprising honestly, the 327th was $45 with only 4 minifigures and some droids (which I would say Lego typically doesn't consider to be full minifigures). Nonetheless it is pretty disappointing, I was hoping to get at least one of these but I definitely won't at that price. I'd say the jury is still out on most of the others though, the minifigure selections aren't amazing but they're pretty logical for the subject matter (jsf line up is disappointing but not unexpected). What it'll really come down to for me are the builds, I could definitely be convinced to pick up the Mustafar and Bespin duels but it'll depend on how they come out (especially Mustafar since I own the one from a couple years ago, but it's puny enough that I wouldn't say no to an upgrade).

I was hoping that the Bespin Duel playset set might include a decent number of minifigures in view of the predicted RRP.  However, it doesn't sound very promising and could easily just be an upscaled diorama type set, or something similar to 75296 (Meditation Chamber).  I'll reserve final judgement until I see some images of it, but I'm already preparing myself to be disappointed! :hmpf_bad:
