  1. Sweet idea! I should really get the last version of Myst...
  2. Thanks for another outstanding review, WhiteFang! I think we're all very pleased to see the "original" CMF series return - and with one of their best series ever, to boot! For a history guy like myself, series 12 really hits the spot. And luckily, two of the figures I want the most (princess and wizard) will be the easiest to find through "touch and feel". Splendid. She's the Fantasy Castle queen from Drawbridge Defense.
  3. So unfair that you guys still get Winter Village Market - it's listed as retired here, in LEGO's home country! Does the US calendar usually apply to the ROTW as well? That elf set looks pretty good.
  4. 5 Legolas polybags at about 50 % off. It has some nice bricks (olive green leaves and cheese slopes). I'll probably offload most of the figs, though.
  5. No no this was more of a craigslist type of thing, in Denmark. And I did get a couple of other nice sets from the same seller, though I wanted this one the most... and I won't give up!
  6. Sweet haul, congrats! I'm still hunting for Shipwreck Hideout myself. I was veeery close to getting it for cheap about a year ago, but someone *just* beat me to it... it's the only one (apart from the Imperial Flagship, which I'll sadly never get) I still miss from Pirates 2009.
  7. Sometimes double.
  8. I agree completely. These names gives us hope that the sets will be in veign with earlier Pirates sets - as opposed to something action-gimmicky like Ninjago.
  9. Blue coats would be awesome, it's what I grew up with. About the complaints that the names sound too much like the sets from the last line... what else would you want? There are some sets that are given for a Pirates theme, sets that has always been done: Pirate ship Good guys forttress Pirate island hideout Pirate raft Those are pretty much always a given, as they represent what kids know about pirates from popular culture. And honestly, I don't mind at all - it's always nice with fresh takes on old classics. As long as they make sure they're somewhat fresh and not just boring rehashes (like the last Castle theme).
  10. Oh well, I guess it was too good to be true anyway. :(
  11. Well, there is this: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=99478
  12. I absolutely love dark red and dark green and usually use them in combination with black (which goes with pretty much everything). I'm also quite fond of the medium azure blue, but have yet to find a good use for it... honourable mention to olive green, dark orange and lime green.
  13. This would most certainly be great news if true. Together with Pirates, 2015 could become a very interesting (but expensive!) LEGO year.
  14. Fantastic news, thanks for sharing David! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be of a quality achin to the 2009 theme and that they won't botch it like they did the last Castle line...
  15. A very impressive collection in a very impresive condition. Lucky you. :)
  16. A fine review of an average set. I like the colours used (a lot, even) and, in part, the minifigs - but the actual set design is so/so. But worth buying for some good pieces in interesting colours and some elves that can easily be de-fleshified.
  17. Good and fun review! I'm not a Harry Potter guy, but this is actually one of the few HP sets I'd like to own. It may not be fitting for the books or movies, but I think it's a great set by itself.
  18. Great review, like the other one - but just like the other one, I feel this one is below average for the same reasons as the other battle pack: too few minifigs, too high price and low quality plastic. I will say though that these Dragon knights are way better than their Lion adversaries when it comes to their shield and colouring.
  19. Great review but below average set - bordering "poor". It should have had an additional minifig and/or lower price or at the very least better plastic. And the fact that I'm no fan of these latest lion knights doesn't help my perception either.
  20. Nice review, average set. As I don't particularly like the figure, which is the main selling point of this bag, I find it hard to get too excited - but the accesories are nice and the bricks have a good colour scheme. And it's always good to get an army builder in a polybag for a change, instead of all the Frodos, Gandalfs and Legolas'...
  21. I'm usually not a fan of flesh, but those narbilu-armies do look great!
  22. Yeah I too got that one a few weeks ago, mostly for the eye and Saruman's hair/beard. Some nice molds, those are!
  23. I got The Goblin King Battle for roughly 55 % off. I never really liked the set and always considered it to be among the very weakest of the LOTR/Hobbit line, but at that price I just couldn't resist. I hope to be able to sell the figures and get a fair share of the price back that way. I also got the LEGO Game Minotaurus at about 1/5 of the ordinary price. Not really interested in the board game per se, but the baseplate alone is worth more than that.
  24. Looks like something straight out of Heroes of Might and Magic III, fantastic!
  25. It seems logical to me that LEGO would want to re-use their elf molds, and a Forestmen/elf cross is a good fit indeed.
