  1. Thanks for the effort, they actually look pretty nice together. Better than the two fort sets.
  2. Skull Island looks good, with great figures. Thanks for the pics!
  3. It's the same here, except that it was Series 4 that shops bought huge loads of and kept on selling up untill Series 10. Yeah, the Simpsons Series didn't look like it sold too well here, either. Personally, I didn't get a single figure - in spite of being a huuuge Simpsons fan when I was younger.
  4. Sure, if you own Target, I can see why you see such an urge to correct the "error" (if it is a such - it could just be Target wanting to boost their sales). But as a consumer, I really don't get what you have against cheaper prices on an over-priced product. If anyone is losing money from this (and I'm not convinced they are), it isn't LEGO; It's Target. LEGO sell their products to stores at a set price, with no reliance at all on whatever price the store sells the products for. It doesn't matter at all to LEGO if a product is marked up, sold at retail price or dumped at clearance.
  5. Why on earth would someone need to do that?
  6. Meh, I can't get worked up over this. I doubt many people can take those idiotic views seriously anyway.
  7. Great review, horrible set. I cannot comprehend how such an abysmal set can even sell at this price. Worst set of the year. But eh, LEGO probably know what they're doing.
  8. Thanks for the renders. I actually think this new ship looks better after seeing it this way. It's slowly winning me over - though I still think it's too similar to the last one. And I want a new parrot!
  9. You guys live in messed up areas, it seems. I have never, ever experienced any LEGO items being visibly opened in any shops I've been to in my country - in spite of LEGO being absurdly expensive here.
  10. Not in their CMF series, not really, no.
  11. Wow, nice find! It's so similar that it's hard to imagine the designer *not* being inspired by that house.
  12. 6103, hands down. It's probably the best battlepack ever, and I got countless of hours worth of playtime from this set when I was a kid.
  13. I think the thing with this set is that only die-hard Hobbit fans sees it as good value for money. For more casual LEGO fans, the set really has nothing going for it except for the figures (which, as evidenced through this thread, not even all the LEGO Hobbit fans appreciate); the build is bland and messy (though I do l ike the colouring of the main structure), the oversized ballista is a weird fit and takes up too many bricks and it's a damn expensive set for what you get. And the main selling point, the figures, aren't really that great from a non die-hard fan's point of view. I don't see many "casual" LEGO collector's, who's not aiming to complete this theme, buying this set. Frankly, I see this as one of the worst sets of the entire combined Hobbit/LOTR range.
  14. Sounds like an extremely dissapointing series from the perspective of a Castle and Pirates guy like myself.
  15. That's great! How tall is it?
  16. From my tests with other hats and heads, it seems that it's a little bit of both - but with the heads being the biggest culprit.
  17. From the sound of it though, it's a problem across the board. So I doubt that will help. But thanks for the suggestion. And I already contacted customer service, as previously mentioned in the thread. They did not mention such a possibility.
  18. I don't get the hate against panels, they're great at bulking a structure up. And baseplates are fantastic, I still think LEGO could have thrown in 3-4 small blue baseplates to make this new fort look like it's actually in the water. I think the new ones look better now that I have seen them connected and next to the 2009 fort, but I still think the latter is the more impressive model. The minifigs might be a bit better with the new ones though.
  19. Well it was a big deal to me, and I sure don't regret notifiying LEGO about the issue. The hats on my Princess and Jester figs drop off with the slightest bump, and they are nowhere near being clutchy enough to allow me to hold the figs by their hats. It was my two most anticipated figures of the set, and given the rather high price of LEGO compared to other toys, I think I am right to expect better quality from their products.
  20. Well I wrote LEGO about the poor quality of this latest batch of minifigs, particularly the Jester and Princess. I think it's important that they get some negative feedback when slacking up on quality like that, in the hopes that enough people doing it will make them sharpen up their future products. They responded rather apologetic, promising to look into the matter. And apparantly, they're sending me a couple of random Series 12 packages to make up for it. It wasn't something I was looking for, but it's a nice gesture. I would of course rather have proper quality versions of the ones I already have, but as it seems like it's a problem with the entire batch, I guess that's not going to happen. Let's just hope this won't be an issue for Series 13!
  21. Amazing, nothing less. Wow!
  22. Damn, it's sold out now - I was planning to buy it tomorrow. :( Does anyone know whether it has been retired or is just temporarily out of stock...?
  23. Too bad they chose neither, eh?
  24. Interesting. Thanks for sharing.
  25. I pretty much agree with this. Medieval Market Village is one of my all-time favorite LEGO sets, it's simply amazing. Get it if you can. And try, if you can get them at reasonable prices, to get some Kingdoms sets. They're heaps better than the poor 2013 line.
