TLG Individual Parts Sales - Unknown to USA/Canada
medib replied to LEGO Historian's topic in General LEGO Discussion
these are real interesting. I remember they had service packs through Samsonite Canada in the early 80's. Free shipping on items, but it took painfully (at least it felt like that) a long time to get the items (4 to 6 weeks shipping). -
Faefrost, IIRC, the early Lego Direct sets had to come out of parts existing in the current inventory. However, I think Lego realized what a cash cow the modulars and other direct sets have been and now may have a more liberal policy on things. I know the Factory line: Market Street, Space Skulls, Star Justice, Factory Train set, Garage set all had most of their elements available for purchase through Online pick-a-brick.

MOC: Pennsylvania RR's York Coaling Tower and Yard Office
medib replied to Cale's topic in LEGO Train Tech
love all the details. love the "dated" look of the control tower and adjoining building. Its just Perfect, Cale. -
do the doors open or were the hinge plates just for fine detail? very nice rendition of the model in mini and micro-scale. Also the hippie version is very cool.
-
the only real criticism of this "set" is the lack of a black hotdog piece.....
-
That would be cool if it was a Triple E. Of course, the wallet wouldn't be too happy. Or the Storage area, for that matter.
-
im thinking if its the same sku, it would probably be a re-issue. But I'll agree that I would enjoy and most likely buy a newly designed Maersk ship .
-
It a nice addition to your model.... good upgrade

The chances of re-releasing market street are very slim, since the set was designed by Erik Brok, who passed away. I wouldn't mind if they made sure they had all the elements available for on-line pick-a-brick so you could make the market street, but even then you'd be looking at over $200 to complete the model. I would be open to see a re-designed Cafe Corner in recognition of the 10 year anniversary of the modular line. Though if it was up to me, I would prefer if they re-released a new Sante Fe SuperChief engine. :)

As far as Elrond smiling... I don't picture him smiling at this point in the story line. I think more appropriate times I think he does smile are: when his daughter gets hooked up with Ellissar (Aragorn) when he is on the boat at the Greyhavens on his way out of Middle Earth to go over the sea

I would have bought some of the "bad guys" if they would have been wolves instead of dragons. this line-up looks a lot like a rehash of the Knights Kingdom way back in the day, especially the Main Castle set. The Dragon Lock-up looks like a poor substitute for the Wizard's / Skeleton Tower set when Kingdoms first came out. If you are going to rehash sets, why not put out another Mill Raid set... that one looked nice and while I'm asking, why not include a goat or two... ;)

I think its almost appropriate that it doesn't have a front window.... I like that old style cash register. I don't think the building is up to "fire code" because it doesn't have a rear window or door in case of fire.
-
It doesn't look too bad... I was going to suggest that you add more lights... especially on the side, but you are from Brazil and police vehicles, especially special response vehicles may look like what you designed. Also adding a few more lights on the front ... like a pair of fog lights / flood lights good job overall. Have you tried trying to get those doors from Lego Parts Replacement Service?

The Winter Cottage was available on Walmart.com website, but I don't think so anymore. I know its still available on Amazon (for now) at full retail of $99.99 US. The winter Village Bakery is still listed on Lego.com (US currency) but its status is sold out.

It turned out very nice. I really like that switching tower.

nice job... L.A. I would consider it a "small" combine. It is really cute.
-
Interesting use for those minifig head / lamp elements on the top of the front of the rig
-
bakery looks like a "corner shop"

Overall, I am disappointed by the lack of pirate sets in 2013, but the LOTR set does potentially does look promising.

I could see that the woman would get her car towed during a live stop (see Parking Wars - like forgetting her drivers license or proof of insurance, etc) ....and have a face that is very upset...
