MOC: Engineering Wagon Using New Panels from 4434
medib replied to tbroyd's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Looks very innovative and a neat idea. You could also use the car as a coal gondola. -
Lego electric light bricks use with power functions
medib replied to PFtrainsman's topic in LEGO Train Tech
That's just a PF extension chord. You want to get 8886 Power Extension Chord: The one end has the 9V metal ends so you can use the 9v "legacy" stuff like the light, motors, etc. I hope that helps. -
If we haven't seen any pictures by now, it probably won't be coming out soon. My best guess would be in March or April, or perhaps maybe in the summer... As far as the Grand Emporium, it was sold out for a week or so, but it looks like they are still available, and in my January 2012 Shop@Home catalogue, they are still in there along with the Fire Brigade and the PetShop.

I was just going to see if there was a thread started about this... ;) I'm definitely not into the miner stuff, maybe perhaps that yellow service pick-up at the right price on sale. I don't mind the overall look of the hospital, I'm just not really thrilled about the way the upstairs looks.

It looks like Fuzzy was the closest with his prediction. Kudos Fuzzy.

Weak source with much speculation and rumour Ok... the source says there is a rumour that LEGO:The hobbit is in the works due out "Winter 2012" in time for the release of the hobbit at the end of 2012. So maybe I was a bit specualative and assumptive... but I've got nothing else concrete and if I really did have concrete information, I would not be saying it here online.

I am holding my breath on Lord of the Rings. If I have read correctly, that there is a Lego: the Hobbit game coming out later in the year or in the beginning of 2013. I would not be surprised if a game comes out, they'll be some sets from the hobbit or from the Lord of the Rings. As far as 2012 for kingdoms, all the big sets for kingdoms are sold out. The only castle sets out are the Midieval Market Village (on its last legs) and the new Castle Exclusive set coming out just after Christmas. I hope we see a few Kingdom sets out in the spring or summer.

I really love the carriage and that the minifigs are wearing tophats. It looks really cool. The building is also nice. It all goes together really well.

Hi, I've been busy with LDD the last couple days, much to the wifey's (quiet) displeasure. Here is what the fire station looks like in real life: Here is how the front looks like (there are a couple of things missing, such as the "glass bulbs" on the lights, the bay doors, and the grey arches at the back of the station, should be black, but I was using LDD without the universe mode...) The rest of the pics, showing each of the rest of the sides is in the folder: Brickshelf Station6 Folder Enjoy. I had fun "building" it virtually. Especially when I had to "tear it down" and move the one side forward. The building is like 48x48 with an additional 6x12 (modular add-on) for the electrical room. Each bay is 8 studs wide, 10 studs high, and should be long enough even for an extra long Aerial Truck (around 40 studs). If you were to order this from lego, it would cost around $500, and there are 500 steps on the insructions. Ben M.

I guess its all down to pure speculation then... Im hoping for a set that's just slightly larger than the regular modulars, but like I said I am curious to see what Lego will put out and will put it on my list to buy ... eventually.
-
That would mean a $199.99 US and a $249.99 Canadian price point. A bit on the pricey side, but I am definitely looking forward to seeing what Lego has in mind for the town hall.

On the second day of Advent, Star Wars Lego gave to me... a Nute Gunray minifig (much to the Mrs. disappointment, who was jealous that I got a fig on my turn to open a door)
-
On the First day of Advent, Star Wars Lego gave to the Mrs... a microscale rebel blockade runner.

I had about 3 weeks from order to arrival into Canada. That's the longest its taken and I've had several PAB orders. DBM = Design by Me HRT = Hero Recon Team (Hero Factory)

Nice. Thanks for posting. Almost makes me want to kick myself for not waiting until this week to buy the vw van for my dad at Sherway. Oh Well.

I didn't see the red cargo train at the ToysRus in St Catharines, I seen the old cargo train and the passenger train both at regular price. I did see that they had a bunch of the left over magnets from Bricktober...multiples of all 4 magnets in a bin, selling for just under $4.00. A bit disapointing because they were giving them away last year...at least in St. Catharines. Switching topics... Did any of you get an invitation to the Shop@Home BrickFriday deals. Same deal as last Saturday, $49 or more, free shipping; $99 or more, free gift; $149 or more, 10% off entire order. Offer good all weekend (Nov. 25 - 28). I tried to order just using the regular ordering system to no avail. I had to go through the link provided by the email invitation, only then was I able to get the free shipping, free gift, and the 10% off. I am curious, did anyone order online and ship it to Canada. I decided to ship mine to my US Post Office Box.

I'm almost embarassed to say this, but.... the set that got me "out of the darkage" into serious collecting (for 12 years now) is the 4561 Railway Express. It was the first time in my life where I was financially able to buy a lego train.

Comparing the Maersk's availabilty to Emerald Night's availability is like comparing apples to oranges. For 1, the Maersk is a licensed model where as the Emerald Night is a lego original. Maersk has the final say on how many units get produced and gets a share in the revenue for each unit made. 2, Emerald Night is a steamer and may or may not appeal to a certain taste of Train Enthusiast, where as the Maersk is a regular (Diesel?) locomotive. I don't really have a handle on which train would have greater appeal to non-train enthusiasts. 3. In my opinion, having 2 cars (meaning, you can put containers on each of the cars) besides the locomotive makes the Maersk more marketable. Buying two sets, and you have a start to a decent train (two loco's and 4 container cars). The Emerald night has a very nice steamer locomotive, a nice tender, and a very nice pullman passenger car. You have to buy more than 3 sets to get a nice train. If Lego would have released a companion set for the Emerald Night, you would have seen the Emerald Night sell out a lot sooner. Case in point, if you look at Bricklink, you can see that there are a high amount of Emerald Night's selling just the locomotive and tender, because the seller needed the passenger car for his/her collection. 4. The Maersk blue color appeals to a certain type of collector, versus the dark green maybe appeals to others. To each his own I guess.

Last time I was at Sherway, they had the new city sets and the dino sets. The city sets included the large forest police station, the new police car, some of the other police sets, the ambulance, the garbage truck, and I think the car with camper, if I'm not mistaken. Speaking of holiday sets, I got the Winter Bakery last year, and the Mrs and I built it together last night. It was nice to do that together. She reserved time to put together the Holiday post office, which we got at the end of October so we could get the Christmas gift set part 1.

I dont need a PO Box for Brickfriday, but it helps. also... thinking about it, Lego hasnt always extended the brickfridays north of the border. Only just recently, if I think about it.

Thanks for posting Nick. We like the Sherway Gardens better, because its closer to the house and on the way the monthly meet-ups at Swiss Chalet. By the way, if you want to meet up with Nick, you should ask him to show you his lego creations. Really nice and detailed. I like Ricecracker's stuff better, just because I'm more into Town/Train, but Nick's are also nice. And so are Si-Moc's. And Blue-and-white's. And there are most likely other Canadian Eurobricker's with cool lego Moc's.... ...and my wife makes decent cakes.
-
... or you can save some $$$ until the week of Brick Friday and see what offers Lego is giving for the weekend. I don't wait for Lego to send me an invite, I just look at the offers at Lego.com and then order. Of course it helps to have a US Postal Address (PO Box).

no offense, but it looks like Santa has been "dumpster diving". Seriously though, it looks fun and the brickwork excellent. Kudos.

I really like that train bridge. Yes its simplistic, but totally realistic. Nice job.

I am wondering about a VIP invitation as well. whether I do or do not get the invitation, I plan on putting an order for BrickFriday... Free Shipping and a free gift. I'm hoping for $10/$20/$30 off depending on how much you purchase, but I'm not holding my breath.
