In other fields such as music, school, etc., collaboration is encouraged. Why is collaboration so rare in Lego world? I can't think of the last time I saw 2+ builders collabing on the same model (not dioramas, but cars, etc.- individual MOC).

You could always go third-party with real RC motors, see this thread:It is not purist (it uses non-Lego parts) but it will be much faster and cheaper. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=114558 with non lego motors you have more options such as internal gearing, etc.

Model will be purely for show, showing advanced features which in reality increase fragility (gearbox, brakes, lockable differential). How could I do Ackermann with this setup (most Ackermann I see is for 4 wheel vehicles, would it be different in this case)? Thanks

Someone should build a 10x10 like this: I bought 9398 last year (2015), so then it was a 3-year old flagship and still on shelf. Not sure what average shelfspan for Technic flagships is though. I would guess it will be in stores until 2018, maybe only online or in certain stores or with 1 or 2 rather than 6+ though.
