  1. That's really great. I love it.
  2. Well Lego can't just keep producing all of their bricks in all their colors just because some people missed these sets; that's the kind of thing that almost caused the to go bankrupt. Lot really satisfy that need, they would need to perpetually produce all of the modular sets because there will always going to be people who missed them; some folks missed Grand Emporium foe example and if you started recently its as much a classic modular as these two..
  3. I only want a reboot CC if it looks different; it would be a reboot in the sense of be8ng a hotel. Independent of nostalgia value it’s not that interesting of a design, more like a medium-level MOC. But if it’s not a copy of the original it really won’t satisfy people who missed it the first time round.
  4. Clever gold wings. I agree it needs to be a t-top.
  5. Love that. Perfect
  6. I like it. I think it would be cool to design extensions for the platform which can connect with pins.
  7. I did those because I plan on putting led lights inside and they will illuminate as well. Light passes through to the car’s interior. It will look cool for the kids who view our public displays.
  8. Hey guys, first train specific post. I finally bull my 2x Horizon Express and I combined one set of car 2 and car 3 into a double decker. Other mods are 4-wide doors and Jacob's bogies; need to order a couple of parts for the bogies.
  9. Sure, and some people will just be offended. Regardless, your Bricksburg looks great.
  10. Looks pretty good. I like the checkerboard on the truck bed.
  11. Hey @fred67, our club is DixieLUG on Facebook. We meet every other month and will have our next display at the Cobb Galleria in March for the NMRA’s National Model Train Show.
  12. Brick separators have very little clutch, for obvious reasons, so the way those are doubled up in the train platform means they can get bumped off. Not as bad as if there were just a single row. That’s why mine are connected to regular bricks in my bus stop.
  13. I think it will look really small next to the older modulars which were larger buildings. Personally I think you could mod it into a corner building.
  14. I have a hard time believing that is the best light-rack they could design.
  15. So I don't have time to go in-depth, but I'll talk briefly about my most recent one. I started out with the bay window pieces from the Creator Park Townhouse set and decided I wanted a roof greenhouse...that was the initial idea. Then I figured a dutch style house would fit best, and despite having a Dutch mother, I never made a dutch style house. I have a lot of those lighter blue 2x2 plates from the front so I then decided I would go all in and use the friends colors I had laying around. As you can see from earlier photos I didn't have the garage planned and was going to use some weird vertical stairs to reach both the second and third floor. When I decided to add a garage on the back I got the City Crooks Island sets and figured those olive green panels would be cool and I used the jets launcher to make the scooter stand inside. One thing to mention is that when I was building it I had no windows and was just using blocks of colors I had at hand; I wasn't concerned with the color of parts because I either didn't have all my bricks nearby or I didn't have them in colors I would use later. If you can't build this way because the various colors bother you you can always take black and white photos of it to see how you like the shape. I would then replace blank walls with windows as I decided on the style and gathered parts. The rear deck with plant guy and the beehive was a later addition. I first added the stairs and then realized I had to inset them one stud or the brown garage door wouldn't open all the way. LOL
  16. I know using them for a roof is not a new idea, but our town needed a bus stop and I have a bunch of these. Photos are from a layout we are doing this weekend at the Trains Trains Trains show.
  17. Maybe use the dark red you have in the second floor windows. The flowers will help make it look like an MOC instead of a set.
  18. I like the chrome pieces up top, gives it a bit of pop. I would suggest doing something between the white pieces at the top of the first floor; nothing major but that would add a little interesting detail. Also, you should vary the flowers a little more; right now they just repeat the same colors and heights. I do like the green bit behind the ground floor ones and the brick-bricks work well there.
  19. I agree with the idea that Lego should sell cars independent from sets. To reduce cost they could make them online-only and use cheaper packaging, maybe as big polybags. Doing them as a 3-1 kit would be cool because you could adjust the cars or even make three different kinds of cargo. Long trains are cool, but most parents aren’t going to spend 2X $150 just to get their child some extra cars. An observation car or double-decker car would be great for the high speed train. When given the choice between a duplicate of the set they have or spending $150 on different Lego few are going to choose the second train set.
  20. Its a simple thing, but I like the grey 1x8 vertical tiles which mark the first and last car.
  21. Right and I'll need to make the orange undercarriage parts which sit between the bogeys longer as well.
  22. That means that if I have two sets and convert them to all Jacobs Bogeys, I should have enough parts to get rid of the technic axles. Right?
