i personally don’t have a problem with its increased cost in the US. I understand that everything in life costs more as time goes on and I want Lego employees to be able to receive raises. I would rather Lego not keep prices artificially low by outsourcing everything to China. Maybe I will only be able to get 20 sets this year instead of 25, but that’s fine. We’ve all seen the effects of what happens when business is driven by the lowest price possible and that’s not what I want for a company I genuinely like, one which brings me much happiness.

I agree that AS offers a better value than CG, but of course I already own AS but don't own CG.

That's a good question, is there an internal reinforcement which makes the jumper technique more secure or do you have to be delicate when handling it?

The angled window piece really helps shape the entrance to the interior. Very nice boat design.

Here is my first big update to the library. What does everyone think about the right side being rounded as opposed to a rectangular building?

The train roof is similar to what I did on my Trackside Loft roof over the tracks. I used notched hinged bricks, covered by tiles, on either end but the idea is the same. I filled in the spaces with the 1x8 (and 1x2) plates modified with door rail.

You could use them to keep dust from settling on your Lego town.

First of all, I love it. I have to ask, was the excess number of curves in your collection the inspiration for its design? That’s how it works for me sometimes.

I have plans to change the right side, but adding depth to the windows was too hard with the sign that way.

How to integrate Ninjago City & Docks in a Modular town layout?
gotoAndLego replied to SwissBrick's topic in LEGO Town
Our LUG has some water tables which are lower than the regular tables. What we've found is that it integrates well if it sits on the water tables which makes the second floor walkway almost even with the city street. We also have a big highway bridge going over the water and the Docks look cool under the bridge.- 47 replies

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
gotoAndLego replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
The problem with having a supermarket is that due to how much Lego is now focusing on interior play it's either going to be physically small or very expensive. -
Hey guys, I wanted to show you the latest thing I'm working on. It's a library inspired by the Kansas City Library's Parking Garage facade. I'm in the process of building it from real bricks and haven't done the interior yet. Here it is in our LUGs recent show.

Lots of great techniques, I like the grey rods on the black spoof slopes.

Thanks, I had all my other MOCs in the display as well. We set Ninjago City on the lower water table which helped it blend with the other city buildings.
-
Looks great and not particularly parts-intensive which is nice.

There's a London Black Cab on Ideas...is that what you are looking for? Googleing "Lego London Black Cab" returns a lot of results, which ones do you like the most?

The contrasting styles loo great and I really like the colors.

I ran my Emerald Night for the first time ever motorized, it had been bagged in storage for years, and I'm happy to say that the various fixes were excellent and it didn't have any problems running for hours at a time.

Hey, here are the photos from our recent display in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Ten of us contributed MOCs and sets, the split was around 70/30 in favor of MOCs. https://www.facebook.com/dixielug/posts/1646321208766738

@Venefic should watch the Smokey & The Bandit movies to see the car in action.

Even with an interior, I would still choose GG or FB over CC. CC’s exterior isnt all that interesting and there aren’t many details or cool building techniques. Most people prize it for nostalgia or because its the one they didn’t buy.

Its a good suggestion. A HP themed creator train is probably the best way for an Creator Expert to be very profitable. Hopefully they would also sell separate passenger cars.
