Advice on displaying a layout at a local train show

You can upload your pictures to Flickr and then deep link them back here in the 800x600 size. Here is a tutorial on how to use Flickr with Eurobricks by Pandora: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=97921 Do you have two engines on your HE? Is one of them using the technic axle bogie? I replace the technic bogie on mine with one using standard train wheels. Rolls much nicer and less friction. I've used a tiny bit of silicone lube on the techcnic axles on my Great Ball Machines and run them all day at events. It cuts down on the ABS dust. I haven't tried graphite except on Kadee HO couplers. -
Picked up my PAB online order from the post. It was shipped on Oct. 28th. Took only 17 days.

We have stanchions. Kids will crawl under them or lean against them. They want to see things up close. Plexiglass can get pretty expensive. Don't display any figs you'll cry if it gets "lost". I learned the hard way. missing trooper by dr_spock_888, on Flickr -

Don't forget Star Wars. There were Star Wars figs for several years' annual raffles. -
I think you just have to set your buildings back at least 16 studs near the curves. It's fun watching it going around those curves.

Nice layout. Pneumatic seems like a good solution to controlling switches.

It wouldn't be difficult for LEGO to mold an existing element in a different color if the mold already exists and still useable. I think making new molds would be challenging if the financial business case isn't there.

Pretty good for a child. How old were you at the time?

Thanks everyone. What else is there to do when you're snowed in? Build LEGO.

Thanks everyone. I don't think I took it too literally. There are supposed to be some new crocodiles coming out with the 2015 Pirates sets. They are rounder and have painted eyes.

I ordered a few battery boxes for double VIP points October. I guess that put their available inventory over the edge. I don't think it means the battery box is going away. They didn't enable the "retiring soon" indicator for the product on the web site. They probably didn't make & stock enough to meet demand. Predicting demand can be more of an art than science. It looks like the 88000 is still available on the USA S@H.

Great MOC. Looks like a nightmare someone with too many brick separators and doesn't appreciate them might have.

In the back of the LEGO MINI Cooper instruction booklet. "The MINI logo, the MINI word mark and model designation are trademarks of BMW and are used under license." Minifigures or MINI figures?

I would like a holiday train or a train full of presents. -
Issues with terms and conditions is best addressed between your LUG's ambassador and LEGO through the LAN. Participation is voluntary. If you're not happy with it, don't sign up.

Nice use of rifles for handrails.

We're getting some crazy snow weather. What is a Catwoman to do to keep her paws dry and warm? Ride her motorcycle or convertible sports car? Catwoman's rides by dr_spock_888, on Flickr No way. She needs something with more traction that can get her through deep snow and take care of that pesky Batman. Presenting the Catwoman's Snow Cat. Catwoman's Snow Cat by dr_spock_888, on Flickr Batman doesn't stand a chance against the tail claws. Catwoman's Snow Cat by dr_spock_888, on Flickr It has a powerful engine and winch to pull out of deep sticky situations. Catwoman's Snow Cat by dr_spock_888, on Flickr It has independent suspension on each of the track to crawl over uneven terrain or 2x4 ice blocks. Off to Mr. Freeze's dinner party with the catch of the day.

Thanks. It is not installed yet. It's scheduled to go in for December. I'm just trying to get it done before panic sets in. It'll be interesting to see what feedback we get from the store mgr. Maybe we can get some idea of what kind of demand for winter train sets. Personally I equate trains with Christmas but I'm old school. I am not sure what kids and young parents think these days. I think it could be a good sign if many people ask the store folks if they can buy it.

MOC: Union Pacific City of Los Angeles passenger train

Sweet. Love the dome car. Nice use of the 7mm hose tubing for springs. Do you have video of it in action? -
Is your LEGO city or town on a tight fiscal budget and buried in snow? Not enough tax revenue for dedicated snow removal equipment? Fear not, we have an economical solution with the ABS snow plow attachment for your garbage trucks. Put your garbage trucks to double duty while collecting the trash on the same snow covered streets. You can realize more savings by using 4 wide trucks instead of 6 or 8 wide since they require less ABS plastic. Contact ABS Inc. for more information. Aren't you going to be building one too once you get the PDF instructions guessing prize?

Interesting idea. I just finished building a Christmas train and station for the local LEGO store community window display. I don't think I'll submit it.

PF Battery Box or PF Rechargeable Battery Box
dr_spock replied to legotrainfan's topic in LEGO Train Tech
You can also buy AAA batteries practically any where in an emergency. When you enter in the dark ages, the rechargeable AAA can be re-used for your TV remotes and other electronic devices.
