Monster Contract: The Wolf of Drond's Feelds
Zerobricks replied to Mike S's topic in Guilds of Historica
I just love how massive and spikey he is! Very well done. -
Nice idea with spheres for wheels, I like it.

Chassis is done, rear axle also uses pushrod suspension. And here's an idea of the look in LDD: To be honest I'm not so inspired by this look and chassis, I am thinking of maybe making a different type of a truck, maybe unimog... What do you guys think?

50 years ago people thought we are gonna have flying cars...I dont tthink 30 years from now diesel or driver will be fully eliminated. Sure there will be hybrids (which this truck will be) and the driver will still be needed in some situations just like pilots even though they have autopilot.

I decided to also try the Mercedes 2045 challenge, and here's what I made so far in LDD. Its a very compact drive indepent suspension with pushrod suspension...the truck will be 4WD More info and updates soon...

Steering works fine, even when standing still it manages to steer the 4 wheels even though 60% of weight is in front. It can lift over half a kilogram, weight is limited by winch motor and pneumatics lift cylinders. Merc competition? I have no idea Yes the chassis is very sturdy and can be used for many other purposes, I may make an LDD file for the chassis The video will be relased near the end of the competition, still have to record 2 more models which are priority. I wanted a different, more modern and more intimidating cab, there's a lot more hidden stuff I didnt show yet.

I'm not sure about the weight, my scale goes only up to 2 kilograms, but I estimate it weighs 5-6 kilograms...

Thanks, but ran out of red I will see what I can do... There are no rollers, because the crane has a very heavy counterweight and the turnatble is driven by a dual drive so it can overcome the friction with ease. The size is a bit over 90 cm long, 25 cm wide and 30 cm high when all is folded.

I know you've been all waiting... And here's the time! The truck is 90% done, its my biggest, heaviest, most motorized and detailed model so far... Here are some WIP pictures, the final ones will of course be better. More detailed pictures and description of all the functions coming in about a week, at the moment I have another technic competition to concentrate...

MOC Race rod
Zerobricks replied to 9 fingers's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thats an awesome model. it looks so retro-futuristic and its fast too! Those thin wheels sure help reducing the rolling resistance. -
Braiding Machine
Zerobricks replied to Splat's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The bobbing echange mechanism is just hypnotic! Only thing I'd suggest you to do is to use longer axles in the worm gear holders, maybe some 3L with stud at the end and a bush on the other end to keep the triangles from sliding apart.- 9 replies

45 Degrees in technic
Zerobricks replied to Alien's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Dont forget about #4 connector, which is 45 degrees. You can also get 45 degrees by using 5x9 bent liftarm and the inner ellagonated pinholes. -
