  1. Nice. Jar Jar is a great touch.
  2. The sets are incomplete. The sails are faded. I'm sure it will fetch a fair price, but it's not the find of the century. It still has 6 days left.
  3. They average $1 each on BrickLink. Lego could have added them to the set for much cheaper than that.
  4. I've always loved this set. It's so simple, but it looks so good. I don't have it, but I guess I probably have the pieces to make it.
  5. So it seems that the universal consensus is that this chess set sucks, but it may be good for parting out to sell on BrickLink. Note that the board is sideways in the box photo. Cons: • New bandanas • Only one shako • The king is… a soldier? • Ugly palm tree • No monkeys • The island looks like a heap of random bricks thrown together at the last minute • The castles look very not-castle-like and… a small barrel is supposed to represent a pirate ship for the pirate castle? • The studs on the squares are centered, so the minifigures will always be misaligned Pros: • Price is good In my opinion, this is the most disappointing set of the year. I will only buy it if the part out value is really good. I won't buy one to keep, for sure.
  6. Woah… something I touched in real life is on the front page of Eurobricks.
  7. Wouldn't it make a lot more sense if the bluecoat king was actually a king? What the heck? He's wearing a shako?
  8. What set comes with the Futuron guy?
  9. I don't know whether this has been mentioned already, but we're getting a new shark head mold with printed eyes. http://imgur.com/a/GNCUf
  10. They both have the same element ID. Somehow, just2good must have gotten an error piece. It may be worth more in the future.
  11. I have one of these flags. Mine has printing on both sides. You say that as if the new bandana is a desirable thing. It sucks.
  12. I think the reason they're normally available for so long is because they're typically not sold in other stores. 60052 was sold in department stores, so it makes sense that it would follow a similar cycle to other sets like The Hobbit.
  13. It took me a long time to realize this site isn't only for Europeans. For about a year or two after I heard about the site, I didn't join because I thought Americans weren't allowed.
  14. I hope they don't drop it. 60052 is one of my favorite train sets ever. I wouldn't be too surprised if they did, though, because it wasn't a Lego exclusive.
  15. They're available in the US.
  16. Another popular forum had the same issue. (They were using the same forum software.) It seems to be related to the forum software, not the ad service. The issue was that when someone clicked on a forum thread from a Google search, they would be redirected to an ad page. The ad page would set a cookie so it wouldn't happen to the same person twice, which makes the attack less noticeable. It doesn't seem that Eurobricks is having this issue anymore, assumably because the admins have updated the forum software.
  17. How do you know they will be bigger soon?
  18. Do you guys think we'll see the 2014 worm screw return after some fine-tuning?
  19. My theory is that we will see a wave of Wild West sets in the third or fourth quarter this year. It's the only explanation I can think of to explain why they changed the blue baseplates to tan at the same time they brought back Pirates. Blue isn't helpful for Wild West. Tan is good for both themes.
  20. I see people talking about the Schaumburg store. I've only been there once, but I have a friend who raves about it all the time. He was banned from the Indianapolis store for asking a new employee to sell him a PAB case after the store manager said no. The manager of the Schaumburg store will set aside cases for him whenever he asks. Personally, I've never had any major issues with the Indianapolis store, except there's one thing I witnessed that really bugs me. There have been several times I've asked to buy a case, and they told me they don't sell cases. Last time I was there, a kid (about 12 years old) asked for a case, and they didn't hesitate to sell it to him. So apparently, the "we don't sell cases" rule only applies to AFOLs. Yet another example of how Lego treats us as second class buyers, although we spend 10x more than the average parent (at least). The employees are always friendly. When they're not swamped with customers, I often see them feeling the minifigure bags for customer requests. Once, I even saw one of the guys (in Indianapolis) give a kid a minifigure he brought from home because the kid was crying.
  21. I wrote that story when I was about 7 or so. I was looking at the scans on that page, and I missed that. I was looking for it to be in a more prominent location. Thanks!
  22. I have more, and apparently I had vendetta over Fright Knights because my parents told me stories with witches were evil or something. http://imgur.com/a/tNQfS
  23. Thanks! That certainly explains the names I used in this story. I wasn't able to find those names in the magazine scan, though. I wonder if the scan is incomplete. I'll have to look at my copy when I get home.
