Personally, I've found all of the currently released film sets to be very disappointing, especially this western sets because I'm a huge fan of the Wild West theme and these are just awful messes. I would have liked to have another printed wanted poster, and it stinks that the poster is part of a larger sticker on a piece that wouldn't even be very useful in building a sheriff's office. I'll probably get this set though because it has a lot of parts I'm interested in. I'll probably build my own saloon using these parts, keep the female minifigure, and sell the others. I want to put a dress in the window of the general store in my display, and that dress looks perfect for that. Also, I think it was a huge mistake not to include the bases to those cannons. That makes them pretty useless unless you're satisfied with making your own base, but I'd be impressed if someone was able to make one that looks nice.

[WANTED] Blue Coat Bilbo & other LOTR/Hobbit
jodawill replied to General Magma's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I'm building a large western layout, so I'm looking for pretty much anything from that theme. The things I need most are 1996 cavalry minifigures and Legoredo-style log walls and bricks. Indians would be OK too, but they're a lower priority because it will probably be a long time before I get to build that part of my display. I don't mind trading for incomplete minifigures. If you have a lot of western stuff to trade, I could give you some more minifigures. I have a lot of Star Wars to trade.. about 30 of them I think. Also, if you're hesitant to trade with me since I'm new, I would be happy to ship my stuff first.- 3 replies

Thanks for checking into that for me. I'm not sure yet whether I'm going to buy some more right now. I actually don't have space to add onto my display right now. =( I'm moving in May though, so I'm hoping to have enough room to expand there. I realized this morning that I would have to build two more of those guard towers for my fort or it would look silly. I can't afford to buy more of those windows (those are pretty rare colors), so I took out the window sills and put cannons in the towers to make it look cool still. I built the third and fourth towers, but I had to put in a Bricklink order for some pieces for the roofs. I ordered a couple hundred of those dark red slopes. I'm really excited about those! I also increased the dimensions of the fort quite a bit. I have a lot more of those log wall pieces than I expected. I built a fairly large two-story headquarters building for the back of my fort. If I use the red slopes for the roof, the roof would be ridiculously high, so I'm thinking about just leaving it as a flat roof. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I'll be back with some photos of my fort after I get my Bricklink order. (Or maybe I'll start my own thread so I don't hijack yours.) Keep us updated on your layout!

[WANTED] Blue Coat Bilbo & other LOTR/Hobbit
jodawill replied to General Magma's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I have one to sell or to trade for anything related to Wild West. I actually have quite a few LotR minifigures that I'd be willing to trade. I mainly bought those sets for the other parts that came with them (Helm's Deep has a ton of "brick" bricks, for instance). Do you have any wild west stuff, brown log pieces, or tan baseplates?- 3 replies

Good eye! These sets do look very similar. I won't have a lot of money when this comes out, but I'm very tempted to buy this ship.- 2,626 replies

Two or four more of them would be great, but I wonder if the shipping would be outrageous since I live in the USA. Last night, I tore apart my entire western town. We had some new windows installed and the guy who put them in got filth all over my display. So I used it as an opportunity to build something better. This time, I started with the fort. I'll post photos at some point. Here're a few photos of the work I did last night (except the train, of course): http://imgur.com/a/akN6n Do you have any suggestions for my fort? BTW, your layout is looking great. I'm really impressed by how many minifigures and baseplates you have. That's awesome.

Working for LEGO? Have a look at the open positions.

You'd probably have to live in Denmark to get a job like that. -
How were you able to buy so many of those road baseplates? I'm so jealous! I only have two of them and I'm also working on a huge Wild West display. They're really expensive on Bricklink. Did you pay a lot for them?

Sets you have not opened yet ... and why?
jodawill replied to DrJB's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have 1 Helm's Deep, 2 Constitution Trains, 1 Jet-Copter Encounter, and a few small LotR sets still in the packaging because I want to sell them in the future. I'm hoping the money I get from them will be enough to pay for the ones I bought for myself. -
Hi! I'm still new to this forum. I'd like to start a Bricklink store. (I currently sell on eBay, but I'm getting tired of all the problems I've had with zero feedback buyers.) What do I need to know about starting a store? Are there any recommended tutorials on how to sell on Bricklink? Is it worth it to sell individual parts, or should I stick to sets and minifigures? How do people with large stores keep their parts organized well enough that it's not too time consuming assemble orders? Thanks!

Or how about a minifigure of the Lego Maniac from the '90s? Remember how white his skin was?- 2,626 replies

I'm very excited to see what they're going to do with the western theme. I'm really hoping for some sets that fit perfectly with my classic Wild West sets. (Or if not the sets, at least a lot of the parts, especially the old log wall pieces and minifigures.)- 2,626 replies

I'd really like to have all the Lone Ranger minifigures in yellow. This is the first licensed theme I've been really excited about because I've always been a huge fan of the Wild West theme (I have a HUGE Wild West collection, and Fort Legoredo was the first big set I ever owned). I would really love to make a Zorro MOC with the Lone Ranger's head, but I don't want to use the skin tones.- 2,626 replies

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion

(Hey, this is my first post. Howdy, howdy, howdy.) I'm really hoping they release all the classic minifigures, like some cavalry guys and the 1980s space men. I just hope they don't try to do anything cute with it, like make the 1980s space man's paint look old like it is in the movie (which is fine for the film, of course) or update the classic minfigures to make them more modern. I would be so happy if they are creating some new sets that fit in perfectly with the original themes. They could make a saloon with Flatfoot Thomson, Dewey Cheatum, and Black Bart in there getting drunk! haha. (As a side note, when I was younger, I never noticed that "Dewey" sounds like "Do we," as in "Do we cheat 'em?")- 2,626 replies
