  1. It's not even a rumor. People were just talking about how nice it would be.
  2. I sure hope not. The real Pirates theme is so much better.
  3. I think collecting sets just for the sake of having them is polar opposite of the spirit of Lego. Lego is all about building and being creative.
  4. There were five sets. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=6280-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=6244-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=6249-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=6296-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=6204-1 Do these count? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=6232-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=6248-1
  5. http://brickset.com/minifigs/pi014/Imperial-Armada-Green "Greencoat" isn't a great description since all of the other minifigures from that faction wore red shirts, but that's what the OP was referring to. The Armada would have been the coolest faction of all time if they had produced more sets. An Armada version of Eldorado Fortress would be amazing. I'm planning to make my own eventually.
  6. There actually were several sets in 1996 featuring the tricorn, but they were used for the pirates. http://brickset.com/sets/6289-1/Red-Beard-Runner http://brickset.com/sets/6296-1/Shipwreck-Island http://brickset.com/sets/6248-1/Volcano-Island http://brickset.com/sets/1747-1/Treasure-Surprise As for the coins, it does look like chrome gold to me. I thought people were saying they were the ones from a sprue. I highly doubt that's the case, but it definitely looks like chrome gold. In my opinion, that's the only outstanding feature in this set. I actually find it insulting that they're trying to pass this off as a retro set. As I've said before, there's nothing retro about this set. They could have at least used the same flag they used in the regular 2015 Pirates sets. Using that cartoonish piece of crap is so… uncouth. This set would probably be much better received if it was sold in a polybag at grocery stores. This is the kind of thing I would love to find on clearance somewhere.
  7. What makes you guys think those might be old coins? I can't tell from the picture.
  8. It's not a huge deal, but I find it annoying as well. So many times, I've clicked on some thread titled, "My first MOC: Uber-awesome clickbait thing," and then it's just someone saying, "Hi, I'm going to make the most awesome thing ever. Check back soon. Surely, OP will deliver."
  9. The space one was available in Europe months before we even knew whether it would be released in the US.
  10. What about this set is supposed to be retro? Not the bandana, the palm tree, the face, the torso, the flag, or the bottle. This one's going to get two thumbs down from me. The only interest I'd have in this is the booklet.
  11. I'm going to add my voice to the chorus here. I agree that it's pretty silly to release these sets when the game is past its prime. I honestly doubt the movie will be any better than the Super Mario Bros. movie. I really wish they'd cut back on the licensed themes and release more original material like they did before Star Wars. A new wave of classic space would do very well.
  12. It doesn't look like this has been posted yet, so I'll go ahead and start it. TLG just announced an Grumpy Sparrows theme to coincide the movie coming out next year. Thoughts? http://www.thebrickfan.com/official-lego-angry-birds-sets-coming-in-2016/ Never mind. Apparently, it has been posted. No one's going to find it if the filter isn't fixed. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=110494
  13. Lately, I've just been using incognito mode to use S@H because it helps me avoid some of the problems associated with cookies. Tonight, it won't let me view the second page of a search. And by search, I just mean clicking on "Sales and Deals" and hitting page 2. SMH I don't understand why they're still using this crappy software after all this time. It's unusable. This is the biggest toy company in the world. It doesn't make any sense.
  14. This poll isn't going to be as helpful in this subforum since it's mostly Ninjago fans reading it. But I saw the thread in the new posts, so here's my take on it. I thought Ninjago was really cool when it first started. I bought one set on clearance. It was that ninja training camp thingy set. I thought the old Ninja theme was making a comeback, and everything was awesome. Then things started getting weird. They changed the clothing so they don't even look like ninjas anymore. And why would a ninja be riding in a plane or a car? That doesn't make any sense. I miss the old ninja theme. To me, all of these weird changes ruined a good thing. The kids still like it, but would they have liked it less if they had stayed more traditional like the 1990s theme? I don't think so. Ninjas are cool. Kids love ninjas. Skeleton warriors are cool. Why do we need vehicles and ninjas who don't look like ninjas?
  15. Apparently, it doesn't exist. http://www.lego.com/worlds/
  16. They (finally!) updated the product description. It now states that the baseplate is "Bright Green." I'm still hoping that they'll go back to the standard color, though. I'm still very frustrated with this change.
  17. I love the train, the track, and the bridge. My only advice is to try to hide those BURPs. Put a few bricks and slopes on them so it isn't so obvious what piece you're using.
  18. Yeah, when I saw your original video, I wondered how you were able to find so many of those old tracks! That was a ridiculous number of them. I just ordered 275 more of the new tracks. I thought that was a lot. (I'll have about 400 altogether when the order comes in.) That's nothing compared to what you're doing! I wonder how many times the batteries will die before your train reaches the end!
  19. There's a typo on your ideas page where it says "40,195 meters." I remember your last world record. It was really cool! Will you be using blue tracks again?
  20. I'm very glad TLG hasn't changed their minifigures.
  21. This is a great solution, but the grade is too steep. I think the typical recommendation is only one plate per baseplate.
  22. I would buy all of the Fabuland sets if they released more! If they do bring it back, I hope the minifigures use the same (or similar) molds as the originals. It just wouldn't be right if they used regular minifigures.
  23. It looks like a Shengshou to me.
  24. This is the first time I've noticed someone use those dark tan masonry bricks in a pleasant way. (I've never seen them put to good use in the sets.) They look very nice on this building. And yes, the skylight looks great.
  25. Maybe I'm wrong then. Still, I would never recommend something smaller than R40. R40 isn't large enough as it is. You'd have to really slow it down for a smaller radius.
