I'd love to buy at least one more of those cargo trains, but I'm getting married on Saturday, and I don't think my wife would appreciate that, considering my Lego collection takes up half the apartment already.

Flex track can only create a bigger loop, not smaller.

The Lego website does include a description of all the PF elements included, but you can see a complete inventory on BrickLink. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=60052-1 This new cargo train is one of my favorite sets of all time. It includes a lot of useful parts – so many, in fact, that I didn't even finish assembling the set before I cannibalized it for my steam engine. They're releasing a new cargo train this summer that, in my opinion, is not quite as good as this one (mainly because it doesn't include the cow ;) ). I highly recommend you buy this one before it's discontinued.

Is 8867 tracks compatible with tracks 7499 and 7895?
jodawill replied to KyuTsa's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Do NOT buy flex track to make a loop. This is not what it's designed for, and you will be very frustrated if you try to do that. Buy some curved tracks off BrickLink. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=53400 -
That's actually not uncommon. Probably most people in LUGs have a room dedicated to Lego. I have one. He does have a nicer arrangement than I do, though.

Are Lego Pirate the worst sailors of all time?
jodawill replied to David Thomsen's topic in LEGO Pirates
Actually, historically, sailors wore eyepatches so they didn't have to wait for their eyes to adjust when going above and below deck. Since the lighting was so poor down below, they kept a patch over one eye so that eye would be able to see in the dark right away. -
Existing Castle parts in new colours wishlist

They've already done that. Please don't make us suffer through another wave of rainbow warriors. http://www.bricklink...em.asp?M=cas262 Edit: I just realized you said not these guys. Still, it's already been done. -
Blue Track (1966-79) and Gray Track (1980-91) Box Images

Wow. So much interesting information! I didn't know they'd ever sold sets completely assembled like that. I wonder how they did that back then. -

I said "someone," not TLG -- at least not as a set. It would be a lot bigger than a table though. It would probably have to be at least twice this big: http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/4/2011/01/foto_4.jpg

I don't understand all the hype for these. It might be pretty cool if someone made huge vehicles for these guys, though. Can you imagine a Han Solo constraction with a full scale falcon for him? That would be amazing. These aren't much more than weird-looking action figures, though. I don't see any value to the parts outside of the sets, but I'm sure some creative person will prove me wrong.

Parts you'd like to come back
jodawill replied to DrJB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I completely agree about the 9v transformer and the Technic figures. The new PF controllers are ok for certain situations, but the old transformers are a lot more useful. -
That photo of the knight in front of the castle wall is amazing. Could we see more pictures of the venue? Where was this?

I miss the old artwork from the '80s and '90s. It would be awesome if we had access to high resolution photos of their backdrops. Oh, and it's pretty sad that the pirates are so helpless that they've resorted to trying to get away on that crappy little raft.

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions

The artwork shows the board facing the wrong direction, so they stopped producing them until they fix the error.- 502 replies

When I was a kid, I only had two cannons – one from Fort Legoredo and one from Bandit's Secret Hideout. When I got back into Lego a few years ago, I went way overboard with the cannons. I probably have close to a hundred of them now. In the '90s, before we could order them through the Internet, it was indeed a dang shame that cannons were so uncommon. Ironically, now that they're so easy to come by online, they're also very common in the Pirates sets. Every set in this wave has at least one of them, which is a first. And they've fixed the coloring in them too. The 2009 cannons looked like crap. It's too bad so many of mine are from 2009.

I like how this looks like it was made from some kid's Lego tub in the early '90s and not something that consists of dozens of BrickLink orders and thousands of parts from LUGBulk. I like that old time look.

This bird bobs down when you roll the mouse over it. Is that an easter egg? I really like the water effect with that background. The cursor seems to be off by a few pixels. Found one. -
I'm not familiar with the game, but this is amazing. I don't think I could ever do something like this.

At the risk of being labeled a whiner, I'm going to offer my (hopefully) constructive criticism. I agree that the coloring is a little off. I think a baby blue background would complement the image. That said, I like the image (sans background). The snowman is funny, and I'm always happy to see more Fabuland imagery.
