  1. I’m hoping there will be more Hufflepuff/Ravenclaw robes included - creating a proper Hogwarts is impossibly expensive if you want to try and build up a fairly even spread of students from each house. I’d be very happy with Ernie MacMillan with a standard Hufflepuff torso and more Ravenclaw/Slytherin too.
  2. I'll add to the army of those in favour! I get Pirates Castle and Space may have slightly wider appeal but the whole spirit of Adventure and Archaeology is very much alive. If this was to be a one-off set, I agree Egypt would be a good way to go. A great chance to bring back all the printed hieroglyphics pieces, plus CMF Egyptian parts and Pharoah's Quest Anubis figures... and a big opportunity to bring back the camel, which would have been a great addition to the Adventurers line. We can then talk about the Amazon follow-up after!
  3. I agree - for years it always seemed City was the theme that never really saw new moulds. However, more recently we have started seeing new parts and pieces, particularly animal and food moulds. I hope this continues and we continue to see Lego City not afraid to evolve. This should result in more variety of trees and plant life, including more seasonal colours (e.g. not just standard green) and more minifigure variation. I'm also all in favour of sets that are based outside the City limits (more the world around us) and explore different continents and environments like forests, rainforests, outback, ocean... One thing that does annoy me is the lack of cutlery knives - we get a lot of forks and spoons but Lego seem reluctant to include a knife in case it gives the wrong message. It would just be nice to have a butter knife in the pearl silver colour as Lego Friends used to have these in other colours.
  4. Very nice recreation. I remember wanting the original to go with my Metroliner. Glad we have a much wider colour palate these days!
  5. I built the Alpine Lodge at the weekend. Not as great as I thought it looked on first impressions but a lot of that has to do with the sign as I don’t use stickers (yuck)! I hope the ‘log’ effect pieces become available in a less orange based tone too, like nougat. The light brick is cool and I like having more ice rink parts.
  6. As long as the branding on the sides of the train are not stickers, which will really cheapen the set at not make it worth buying for me.
  7. I get that and would agree about the iconic status. Just think the Gold City Junction might allow for more interpretation as lots of fans try to create a Western town rather than a fort setting.
  8. I'm still hoping we get a tribute figure as part of the CMF series - in a more classic outfit - either the braces/suspenders torso or green tank top - with a magnifying glass, jewel and some sort of map would be ideal. The hat from the CMF25 detective would also be useful in Adventurers - a bit of a Casablanca vibe perhaps?
  9. If we have a tribute to old Town sets - I'd like something along the lines of 6552 Rocky River Treat - I really liked the early 90's Leisure subtheme Also a big fan of Paradisa - I think 6416 Poolside Paradise would be the most iconic. Adventurers is slightly more recent than Pirates and Castle but a long standing theme much loved by fans - I think 5988 Adventurers - The Temple of Anubis would be most popular/lucrative I also liked the Western aspects of the Lego Movie sets so perhaps 6765 Western - Gold City Junction would be good a choice.
  10. Yes please! Really hope this happens but I guess it will depend on how well the set sells. I always liked the club car released after the Metroliner/Euro Express released in the early 90s.
  11. I really liked the 2022 ice rink set so hopefully something that can be linked to a City environment but with an Oriental influence would be good.
  12. Sorry - just speculation from me! The only thing I heard was that the HP Hagrid’s Hut set will include his dog, Fang. No idea if that is fact or just speculation though!
  13. The City set descriptions seem to suggest mainly Space, Police and Fire, plus some Racing. I can’t see the Space sets having any animals and the others all suggest they will be in an urban City environment so I doubt anything too exotic in terms of new animals. My hopes would be the Fire Truck with Lifeboat or the Police Prison Island could contain sea lions or the Ambulance and Snowboarder could include an Arctic version of the hare. Perhaps some forest creatures could feature if the fire sets are based outside the City limits or possibly pigeons if everything is very City-centred? Hopefully the summer wave will be themed in a wilder environment - preferably safari again to fill the giraffe/zebra/hippo/rhino void I’d like to see represented. If not, possibly rainforest or Outback. I guess there is always the possibility of Lunar New Year sets including a Panda at some stage?
  14. Sorry, Sam - I think this is a bit of an overreaction from you here. The CMF line only has a small selection of 12 non-licensed figures each year. I think people are entitled to express dissatisfaction if we feel that Lego has not provided a selection of figures that fill certain gaps that interest us. We’ve also both mentioned what we do like about the series but just frustrated about the missed opportunities, which I think is valid criticism. Apologies if it offends you for expressing what I feel the series is lacking but I am entitled to provide an opinion on a forum and I don’t think anything I have said is offensive to provoke being called out for being ‘exhausting’ and for you to decide my comments are not constructive enough!
  15. I wasn't sure about it to begin with but every time I look at it I like it more and more. At the end of the day, it's Lego so if it needs enlarging or you prefer different colours, it should be easy to customise!
  16. As usual I am in agreement with Klaus-Dieter (I think we have similar taste when it comes to what we want from Lego). The lack of a new animal is very disappointing - annoying to have a different dog mould when there are so many animals still not available, especially as the goat is coming in another set next year. Still, let's hope next year's City sets make up for this. The lack of a musician as well is annoying as it would be good to build a full orchestra with proper instruments. Also, there are lots of other sports figures that could have been made above the gym lady. Having said that, I really like the dinosaur suit figure and the toadstall lady is cute but not so keen on too many in this wave.
  17. Do we think the rumoured ‘dome’ will use the Friends Botanical Gardens piece?
  18. I would very much like some Andean figures but not just one, which would be rather useless on its own. Would a llama be too big for the CMF line? The silhouette of the middle figure looks like a Big Fig to me - ogre or troll?
  19. The names of the 2024 City sets (according to Bricklink) don’t sound too promising as an opportunity for new animal moulds. Here’s hoping the summer wave takes us out of the city. Think our best hope is the next CNF wave but this will limit the size potential. Would love it if there was an annual set dedicated to animals (like we get a Winter Village, Lunar New Year…). A safari theme still lacks essentials like a zebra, giraffe, hippo and rhino. i also don’t know why fans are so outraged about the lack of goats, when the camel has been absent for far longer!
  20. I think there is something charming about the classic smileys - for me Lego is an escape from our everyday aggressive and high pressure society where people don’t tend to smile at each other. I always liked the fact everybody in Lego Town was happy.
  21. I’ll use my last list with a few amendments… Hoping for an all-animal accessory series. However, my guesses are below (also a semi-wishlist but I think all are possible but probably not together as all 'City' themed) 1) Gondolier 2) Egyptologist (Dr Kilroy tribute) 3) Cricket Player 4) Airline Cabin Crew 5) Marching Band Musician 6) Canadian Mountie (with beaver)? 7) Koala Suit 8) Train Suit 9) Wildlife Expert with sloth (like a Zookeeper) 10) Basketball Player 11) Barbershop Singer 12) Dentist
  22. Can anyone tell if the side writing is stickered?
  23. I’d like to buy this set but concerned if the writing at the side of the train is stickered as in that case I won’t bother as this is an essential part of the train’s identity but just ruined if it is a sticker.
  24. Well done to the winners and thanks to everybody that joined in. Some great MOCs proving the the thirst for adventure still exists. I’m hoping Lego brings back some sets soon!
