  1. Yes - the medieval village is a real disappointment. Let’s hope Lego aren’t so reluctant to give us a greater abundance of animals in the jungle sets for the summer.
  2. This looks hugely underwhelming and an easy pass for me.
  3. I’d certainly be in favour of a Winter Village modular. I’d like to build a New York street that can be adjusted for each season.
  4. I’d also like to know more about the double points - how often does Lego usually have this?
  5. Just saying that new harbour sets would be a perfect opportunity to get some sea lions.
  6. I thought I had read at the time it was released that the number was used as it is gamer slang... 1337 Meaning & Origin | Slang by Dictionary.com
  7. Junior Lego Set Designer: The usual suspects over at Eurobricks are moaning about the lack of animals in the recent winter City releases, boss. Senior Set Designer: *Sigh* Go fetch the Current Random Popular Animal Generator… (Current Random Popular Animal Generator flashes past Llama/Narwhal/Meerkat/Wombat, etc before eventually slowing down and stopping on Red Panda) Junior Lego Set Designer: Red Pandas huh? That’s going to be a tough one to integrate into a City set, particularly as they live in coniferous forests rather than the jungle environments we were planning for the summer… Senior Lego Set Designer: Nah, make it a small set and stick a quadbike in it for good measure.. Junior Lego Set Designer: A quad bike? Not sure if that’s realistic, boss. I mean red pandas are quite shy animals and we just tried something similar with the otter sets which are now retired after just one year.,, Senior Lego Set Designer: *Glares* I said give ‘em quad bikes…
  8. Excited for the gorillas! Is it too greedy to want three sizes though if we get a baby, adult and silverback!
  9. I really wish they had got rid of the train track parts from the Orient Express set and replaced it with printed parts for the interiors (particularly as it doesn't come with a working engine).
  10. Thanks for this - wasn't going to buy any of these if I didn't know what I'd be getting but if this works, then I will give it a go. Any chance we could book mark this at the start of the thread to make it easier to find?
  11. Great work as always, Andrew!
  12. Annoyingly looks like stickers 👎👎👎
  13. Yes - Playmobil have been much further ahead of the game than Lego when it comes to animals for decades!
  14. Exactly. Strange that Playmobil can do it though!

  16. Lego would never be so generous as to give us a Wiltopia-style Advent calendar!
  17. The rumours suggest we are. I enjoyed these concepts in the video and would hope for something similar. I hope Lego don’t just give us a bare minimum and rehash what has come before but lots of new animal moulds, better plants and trees than we usually get and some decent but realistic vehicles.
  18. I’d love for any zoo released to become an annual set (like the winter village or lunar new year). That way it isn’t a one off subtheme that appears once and we never see it again for a decade. This could allow a couple of new moulds and re-use some previous moulds.
  19. I think this is why the regular series (particularly when there were 16 figures) work so well - something for everyone. We could have a new alien species AND a costume fig, plus something for those into Sports, Castle, Music, Pirates, Mythology… We all like a series of just our favourite themes (I’d personally choose Adventurers or an all Animal series).
  20. Any updates if Lego intend to modify the spelling issues for Munich and Bucharest for future manufacture?
  21. The butterfly with the toadstool lady reminds me of the Morpho butterfly found in Central and South America. I’d be very happy with Lego exploring this area and more rainforest animals. The toucan is too good not to be reused and I’d love to see sloths, capybaras, tapirs plus a dark green recolouring of the baby crocogator would work well as a caiman. If they were to explore the Andes too (like this year’s sets covered both reef and arctic ocean climates), then a llama and coral recolour of the flamingo would be wonderful too! With all the tributes to classic space, pirates and castle in recent years I’d also like to see Adventurers getting similar treatment. Starting with an Egyptian themed set reintroducing the camel mould and then an Amazon set the following year to incorporate a lot of the animals above.
  22. Just seen the sailboat - a nice addition and one I will aim to buy. Good to see Lego bringing out more affordable sized sets this year, as it just felt like everything was getting too big, which puts off younger collectors.
  23. Never been a big fan of the January city wave, as usually largely police and fire sets. Summer is when we tend to get all the good stuff. Works out well financially though with the museum, orient express and family reunion all released in the winter. I do like those mesh fence pieces though.
  24. I think older fans do need to take into account that the theme still does target children and therefore releasing sets that have been previously made is necessary as the products only have a limited shelf cycle. This allows new generations of HP fans to purchase Lego depictions of the main locations, even if a similar thing has been produced several years before. Obviously most of us here are Lego collectors for life but many of the target audience will only be active from say 7-10. I am never bothered by how sets really look or how accurate they are, as these can easily be modified. For me, it is about getting decent parts. It’s disappointing not to have more Torsos for Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw but these offer something new for long-term fans with the owlery and boathouse, plus I do like that there are plenty of smaller sets like the car, which is much more like the Lego of old where there were a number of more affordable ‘pocket money’ sets and not every set was the one you had to wait until Christmas to get (or otherwise you’d never get it)
  25. I do like the nods to Dr Kilroy and Pippin Reed in the Museum Modular and Orient Express. Still hoping for some proper remakes at some point though with other characters in the theme in their Adventurers gear (plus lots of new animals).
