  1. I don't suppose any of the characters summoned a giraffe patronus during the Battle of Hogwarts?
  2. Some nice parts in the new Monkie Kid set… https://www.newelementary.com/2023/01/lego-monkie-kid-review-80044-monkie.html?m=1
  3. I think as most sets are Hogwarts based, many people will try to put these together to create as big a castle as their finances and room size allows. However, as the majority of sets include one or more of Harry, Ron and Hermione, the Gryffindor uniforms far outweigh the others (particularly Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw). I’m therefore keen to get some of the banner sets for the other houses, though this could be expensive to populate a castle with a proportionate number of students per house. What I would like is a Hogwarts carriage set, which would be the same set but options for each house and should include variations of different skin tones for generic students. This would allow builders to expand their train without having to buy the front carriage every time and to boost representation of various houses.
  4. Let's hope that a lot of the 'Dreams' are set somewhere in the Savannah and we end up with the giraffe, hippo, rhino and zebra that were so glaringly omitted from last year's City Wildlife subtheme! If we could also have a version of this please Lego and I promise I won't moan about all those dreadful stickers you put in your sets for a whole year. Thanks in advance. 5. I’d be in favour of this if it provided some national flags parts (not stickers).
  6. Merry Christmas Jelle - I love the Christmas scene build!
  7. It would probably make them a bit more expensive but it can't cost that much to print basic tiles and bricks. I hate the fact stickers even come in expensive sets - if I have to pay that much I shouldn't be having to apply stickers to make a set look better. The passenger train before the current one is a good example - it looks like it should be a great set but when the stickers are not applied it doesn't look as good, meaning the stickers form an essential part, rather than optional. the Boba Fett throne room and the Dark Troopers sets also are spoiled by relying on stickers and the Harry Potter moments sets too.
  8. Yep, stickers are the absolute worst although I think that’s quite a popular opinion.
  9. Looking forward to seeing these changes @DeanLearner I do like the new double bass piece - makes you wonder if there are any more unused Vidyo instruments?!
  10. I'm not too worried about the goat, as there will be plenty of opportunity to fit this into future sets, whether a new mould or the old mould is resurrected, as goats will fit into the castle theme as well as farming. I'm more worried that we had safari sets last year without serval prominent animals (giraffe/hippo/rhino/zebra). Who knows when this subtheme will resurface?
  11. Do we know if the Koala is detachable from the (Eucalyptus?) plant piece yet? I agree about Rocking Horse Girl - would have been better in a cowgirl costume.
  12. Hmm - I went for an Australian (Steve Irwin type), Koala costume and a Wildlife Expert!
  13. Build A Minifigure - they have a section in official Lego stores to create mini figures from parts, like pick a brick but you get 3 figures consisting of a hairpiece/hat, head, torso, legs and an accessory (sometimes this can be an animal).
  14. I was thinking the same but particularly given the Winter Village music shop didn't have any new moulded instruments it does seem unlikely. I suppose it is possible one of the figures in the next CMF wave could have one. I'd like a proper trumpet - there was an old bugle mould in the 90s Western theme.
  15. The old parrot is miles better than the dreadful dual-moulded one. Somebody mentioned a wings-spread parrot above. I’d like the reverse for the seagull and both wings spread and non-wings spread for a pigeon too.
  16. I’ve not seen the show yet so cannot comment if your creation is faithful to its original, but it’s certainly a nice modular build!
  17. I wonder if Lego’s recent Dungeons and Dragons link on the Ideas site could produce something for future CMFs, given that the game often focuses on the characters. I never played D&D but did have Warhammer Quest, which was a similar concept… For example a Wizard, Barbarian, Elf, Dwarf, other ‘Heroes’ and Dungeon villains/monsters.
  18. Thanks for the link - very useful!
  19. It was your idea to start with @williejm - so I’m blaming you that I want it so much! I reckon 2023 is going to be another big year for us animal fans. So many sets last year probably wouldn’t have included them previously, but seems like Lego are finally listening! Of course, if they really really cared, CMF S.24 would be the animal series! Come on, Lego, make it happen!
  20. I wonder if there will be any new animals in the Winter Village set? The flamingo needs to come in coral colour in BAM! I think we should make a list of animals by year they were first introduced to keep track!
  21. Nobody should have to stop talking about things they enjoy just because one member might be bored - they can easily scroll past any comments that are not of interest and generate conversations about things they do enjoy, to which people will respond if it is interesting to them. I have previously set out a detailed response as to why new animal moulds are an important part of new City set for me nowadays. Those of us who have been collecting for decades want to see things we don't already have, things that haven't appeared before and things we cannot create using existing parts. The lack of animals available has been a gaping hole in Lego's depiction of the world around us for a long time and it is only recent years that more have become available. City sets are still available, but the inclusion of animals generally doesn't detract from the set as a whole but provide a huge incentive to buy. For example, the kittens in the fire brigade set. Of course the set would be fine without the kittens but I wouldn't buy it, as there's nothing much there I cannot create from my existing collection.
  22. The turtle was included (albeit recoloured) in set 60328 - Lifeguard station. I also really want to see the camels appear again in a set and want justice for the ostriches! Excited to hear there will be a regular CMF series again in Jan - will be very disappointing not to have any new animals. Beaver is a great shout, although I'm hoping sea lion, swan, koala, wombat, sloth or capybara. Would a llama or kangaroo be too large?
  23. A museum would be nice - I'd like something that brings back a lot of the Egypt-specific bricks and prints (hieroglyphs from Adventurers, Anubis Guard from Pharoah's Quest) I'd also like a florist and the return of the old-style flowers in orange, purple and blue. Does anybody know what is the latest date a modular has been revealed?
  24. Who would you have picked as the 4 for each @BrickBob Studpants?
  25. Hoping for an all-animal accessory series. However, my guesses are below (also a semi-wishlist but I think all are possible but probably not together as all 'City' themed) 1) Gondolier 2) Egyptologist (Dr Kilroy tribute) 3) Cricket Player 4) Airline Cabin Crew 5) Australian (a Steve/Terri Irwin type) 6) Canadian Mountie (with beaver)? 7) Koala Suit 8) Dinosaur Suit 9) Wildlife Expert with Sea Lion (like a Zookeeper) 10) Basketball Player 11) Barbershop Singer 12) Dentist
