Would be nice if there is a seagull without wings outspread for variety but I'm not sure if Ideas sets are given new moulds. Do we think there is any chance of more farm or safari next year?- 5,902 replies

There certainly were some great City (Town) set in the 90's. Sadly, I don't think we'd see another Paradisa released concurrently with the Friends line but it would be good to have some sort of 'Tropical Island' subtheme (would be even better if they brought back some Paradisa style 'beach print' baseplates. Airport - like set 6396, a small passenger plane and airport with a viewing deck, 2 palm trees, airport & airline staff plus minifigures dressed for a tropical vacation (Hawaiian shirts, etc) Water Skiing - a small set with a speedboat, driver and water skier Marina - like set 6543, a couple of small boats and shops (gelateria, cafe, surf shop), fisherman on the jetty Dive Boat - a boat with Scuba instructor and divers with air cylinders (light blue and purple flippers) plus the CMF coloured turtle Luxury Yacht - with a captain and several glamorous and wealthy minifigures Lifeguard station - something very Baywatch like @adwin's [MOC]: Lifeguard's Shack - LEGO Town - Eurobricks Forums and better than the recent City offering - including a new seagull mould without wings spread for variation Beach villa - a remake of 6146 Poolside Paradise with two flash sports cars and a BBQ next to a pool

I like the supermarket set but it seems rather overpriced. I just want several trolley/shopping cart pieces to build a bigger supermarket.

Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
lifeinplastic replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
It's a good question but I guess it's because Lego has in recent years started to make more animals but that there is a great deal still missing and many of us have been waiting years (in my case decades) for more animals to be included. As a kid, there was only a horse, shark, monkey and parrot that I can recall - so I had a very strange Lego zoo as a child! For me, I have a huge amount of Lego bricks and I can build pretty much anything I like in terms of creating City vehicles and buildings, as the bricks are widely available and, although the variety of bricks is even better these days, there have always been wheel pieces, windows, doors, etc. Therefore, new City sets don't often appeal if they are just a reiteration of another police station/fire engine/cement mixer that we've had time and time again, and therefore those of us that have been collecting for a long time want to see something new that we haven't had before. OK, we could potentially create brick build animals but in my opinion they look very out of place next to today's specific moulded parts. There are a lot of fans that moan about not having enough variation of certain licenced figures. For example, fans wanting every version of Batman costume that has ever appeared in print/media. However, most animal fans aren't really asking for anything obscure, just a representation of some very common creatures that have been frustratingly omitted over the years - it really shouldn't have taken so long for Lego to finally produce a sheep mould. Also, Playmobil have been miles ahead of Lego on the animal front for a long, long time and we want Lego to catch up. It is also ridiculous that we have minifigures dressed as certain animals but not the actual animal itself! For what it's worth, I did also respond to your question in the Q&A Lego Survey thread about what I'd like to see that doesn't relate to animals, which hopefully shows it isn't the only thing that interests me. However, there does need to be sufficient unique or new parts in a set that makes me want to pay for more Lego to add to my City collection and including new animals is far more appealing than something like a bunch of thieves dressed as ice creams?! -
Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
lifeinplastic replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
βThey donβt need to go overboard with animalsβ - Who is this impostor and what have they done with the real @williejm?! π Iβd agree though, koala and kangaroo are the most obvious missing animals, but who knows how long weβd have to wait before Lego βCityβ would revisit Australia again - another 20+ years Iβd assume?! In that case I demand every marsupial and indigenous species that can physically fit in a box, most of all wombats! That is what bothered me about last yearβs African Wildlife sets - there were a lot of basics still missing, with presumably little probability of a swift return to the theme. No giraffe, zebra, rhino, hippoβ¦ and to a lesser degree with the Farm sets - still no goat return, a roosterβ¦ For me to buy any set there needs to be sufficient reason to pay the asking price and this will only be the case if there are enough parts or pieces I donβt already have. Filling a set with merely a high volume of bricks just isnβt sufficient if there arenβt enough new parts/moulds/re-colours. That doesnβt just relate to animals - for example, the supermarket sets this year were so much more appealing (particular given the high cost) due to the trolley piece and food parts. Any set with more variety of trees and flora too are always welcome (more availability of tree leaf parts in autumnal colours, dark and pale green, please Lego). Iβd agree on the penguin front though, there are plenty of more essential gaps to be filled before we need a wider variety of penguin species! I would like to see an alternative seagull though - they tend to βhuntβ in packs here in the UK and so Iβd like a static seagull without wings outspread to allow some variety. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

I think Iβd rather have a non-licensed Adventurers CMF series than Indiana Jones. Doubt it would happen but would offer a lot more possibilities of animal accessories. -

If you could pick just five (minifig-scale) animals to be introduced next year in any of Lego's non-licensed sets (including CMFs), what would you choose and which sets would they be available with?- 5,902 replies

Aside from animals, Iβd like to see more letter tiles & bricks (only recently reintroduced in Dots) in different colours and sizes. Also, national flags like the following: https://mobile.twitter.com/FireStarToys/status/1139567319657721856/photo/1 We also need a knife to match the existing spoon and fork. Plates and bowls too. Inverted tiles to complement curved tiles. Wider availability of all rollercoaster parts to ensure availability of all pieces of track to match existing colours. Wider availability of all water slide parts to ensure availability of all pieces to match existing colours. A return of the old style Town roadplates and Paradisa beach-effect plates. More sets reflecting βout of cityβ leisure activities like the early 90s. Some great sets then like the Rocky River Retreat, white water rafting, fly by marina, air show, surf shack, restaurant, pizzeria and all Paradisa sets. Better trains like the Metroliner/Euro Express with Options to buy single carriages like the Club Car. Better trains needed, as too many ugly offerings like the new Passenger train. More every day civilian vehicles like cars and buses, plus leisure boats - canal boats, speedboats, super yachts, scuba dive boats. Less frequent police and fire waves. Far, far more variety of tree parts and bushes/hedges/plants/flowers, including more availability of seasonal tree foliage (orange leaves, and more light green/dark green as opposed to the standard bright green) A return of minifigure packs, perhaps representing a theme - e.g. a wedding, a safari. Light bricks A Lego City football (soccer) team or two (sponsored by Octan)! A passenger plane as good as the one from 2006 and an airport subtheme with several sets. Ideally one located on a holiday island to recreate a vacation destination rather than a City airport. A swimming pool. A Zamboni A tuk tuk or several. A cricketer mini fig with bat and wicket/stumps. New coloured bicycles - purple/new hospital blue/lime green Adventurers and exploration of the world around us. Smaller, affordable sets Also, to banish all those utterly dreadful stickers!

Really enjoyed seeing the evolution of your City @SalvoBrick! It does show how much the Lego colour palate has changed. I love the fact that the majority of the buildings appear to be your own designs too - very neat!
-
Yes - I asked for sets like the minifigure sets 'Fun at the Park' but geared more towards animals (e.g. an Amazon rainforest set, African Savannah...) For me, it's about providing things that are missing in Lego form relating to 'the world around us' - I can construct buildings, vehicles, parks, etc using existing bricks so there is usually very little 'new' to brought to the City line that makes a set worth buying. Brick built animals don't really fit in my opinion. I'm glad we had a supermarket this year and would like to see the trolley released elsewhere in grey, as this was a part that was needed.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
lifeinplastic replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
If Lego really doesn't want people to know what they are buying, I cannot see this being a success, especially at the price per minifigure. I already don't buy most of the figures if I don't really want them because feeling the bags takes too long, whereas if I knew what I was getting I'd probably pick them up on a whim. RIP Collectible Minifigures. -

Now you've made me want nothing more than a coral-coloured flamingo! I went to Celestun in Mexico about 15 years ago and loved the boat trip to the flamingo lagoon. I'd also love to go to Laguna Colorada in Bolivia - the pink flamingos against the deep blue sky = beautiful!- 5,902 replies

There is also a new cub in the set 60353 'Wild Animal Rescue Missions', which I assume is a baby black panther. I really hope to build a Zoo before my nephew gets too old to enjoy it and so I really wish we soon get a non-Friends giraffe and a hippo where the upper body and head can be detached to look like it is half submerged (both adult and baby versions). I'm not too worried about getting big cats, as I always feel seeing them in a zoo does not allow them the space they need (perhaps this is unfair on other animals too, but I feel better about those kept in a suitable environment that are well looked after for conservation efforts). Currently, I would include the following for a zoo: Penguins - from the CMF series and the recent Lunar New Year skating rink Elephants - from recent City Safari sets Monkeys - from recent City Safari sets Flamingos - from the CMF series, although would prefer the legs to be re-coloured to look less like garden ornaments Camels (from Prince of Persia - these need to be re-introduced in current sets) Ostriches (from Prince of Persia - these need to be re-introduced in current sets) Crocodiles (I wish the new baby matched the dark green colour) Turtles - I prefer the CMF coloured version to the recent City lifeguard set Toucans - from the CMF series Most wanted - giraffes, hippos, sea lions, sloths, llamas and koalas (it is ridiculous that we have a giraffe and llama costume minifigs but no actual versions of these animals, yet new moulds are made for useless features such as the helmet with pigtails, like in the new Stuntz sets)! I personally would not complain at all if the next CMF series was just different zookeepers/wildlife explorers, each with a new animal mould (any of: sea lion, koala, sloth, baby hippo, meerkat, orang-utan, wombat, red panda, lemur, capybara, vulture, stork, baboon, tapir, hyena, iguana, gazelle...)- 5,902 replies

Great build, Dfenz. Using my phone at the moment but looking forward to seeing this on a bigger screen!

I missed out the on the last coaster so Iβm pleased there will be a new one. Not too sure a yellow track will look great but hoping to accumulate lots of one colour of all the track types and hopefully build a MOC. Just looking at Bricklink to see which colours already exist.

New coloured hare (based on Room of Requirement mould) and recoloured baby croc in 60353? A real shame as I was hoping the wildlife rescue set would be something more like the new set 41717 but Friends got it instead!- 5,902 replies

Thank you for sharing this. I note you have pictures from 2012 and 2015 and just wondered why you decided to return a second time? Cannot look at this today though without thinking of the people of Ukraine.
