  1. It seemed a reasonable possibility based on the event listed on this month's shop calendar for 6 Oct., or at least more reasonable possibility than announcing an announcement of something we'd already seen (which is what happened).
  2. Forest Ambush had pearl gold 1x1 round tiles as coins, as well as jewels, in the treasure chest. I'm guessing this will be more of the same. Chrome sadly seems to have gone away, maybe because it chips off so easily over time...
  3. Oh, well what a shame then (ha, just2good you're awesome, thanks!!!)
  4. Has anybody seen images of the Beach Hut anywhere? I'm curious.
  5. It was this one. 5th birthday present from my grandmother. It wasn't until a few years later that I went to a friend's house and saw some Aquazone sets and suddenly realized that I would need a lot more than Basic bricks . . .
  6. The store calendar promised to reveal an exclusive set today on the facebook page NicT mentioned (I haven't got a link handy, but google "Lego October 2014 calendar" and check today's date). Since the Slave I had already been revealed it seemed likely that it would be the new modular. Edit: here's a link: http://www.bricksand...re-Calendar.jpg I suppose it's technically accurate, since you can "see the next exclusive set" on that page, but it seems odd to announce that date on the calendar when the same pics were on the main LEGO facebook page two days earlier.
  7. Fantastic job! So classic. I wonder how one might brick-build that arrow sign...
  8. https://www.facebook.com/officialLEGOshop So it looks like the announcement today is for the Slave I after all, even though that had already been revealed a few days ago...
  9. The guy fixing a toilet by sticking a jackhammer down the bowl made me laugh. I like a lot of these. Thanks again, just2good! Edit: Or I guess he's demolishing the toilet! Interesting approach, anyway...
  10. Even more curious now. It seems like two buildings with an alley in between would have to be connected in some way (fire escape between them?) for stability. And it might be tricky to reach into a 6-stud-wide alley between two buildings. Have already checked the facebook page once or twice. It's the 6th in Denmark already, after all.
  11. Except that Pet Shop is older than Town Hall. Very interesting...
  12. I think with one more post you'll have permission for both...
  13. There is one 2x4 plate, and that and the hose are the largest pieces in the whole body. It's crazy.
  14. This is amazing. Also I want to try it with ghost minifigs for Halloween. I wonder if my slow setting will be slow enough or if I'll inadvertently smack myself in the eye with a LEGO...
  15. The detail and presentation are wonderful, and can I say that I'm also really impressed that you got it to balance!!!
  16. According to the calendar, some exclusive set will be revealed on 6th October on the LEGO shop facebook page. I'm hoping this will be it. Otherwise there is another exclusive reveal on the November calendar, but hopefully we won't have to wait that long.
  17. Yeah the way the figure is put together, the flexibility and stability of it, and the fact that those characteristics belong to something made out of so many *tiny* almost insubstantial looking parts is amazing. It just looks great with the minifigs, the turtle, and the suggestion of a base that comes with the grate and barrels that seem so simple but help the display so much--it's different from any other kind of set, and the experience of building it is well worth the price of admission, to me. Obviously it will appeal differently to different people, and obviously a spare 40 euro means less to some and more to others, but if you're asking the question you're at least tempted, right?
  18. Maybe it's true and maybe Will Ferrell and his son are the last people on earth and the "toy store" is really a place where they've hoarded the last of the rations and supplies they could scavenge from the wastelands! Also, I would just like to take a moment to acknowledge ResIpsaLoquitur's awesome username.
  19. It wouldn't be too surprising to see some Friends colors introduced into the Modulars. The olive green of the PR was originally made for Chima, no?
  20. That must have been really brief--about 4.5 hours after your post and it's sold out with the "Limited quantities may be available in October in LEGO Stores" message again...
  21. Couple of series 12 CMF.
  22. I got mine and a LOVE it. I will say that while it's sturdy for posing once built, one of the trickier parts of the build is finding places to hold onto while you're putting some piece or other into a clip, and I kept knocking off little greebles. Doesn't bother me because you just put them back on and, oh em gee, neo-Classic Space LEGO! Might be frustrating for a kid though.
  23. Ghost Vitruvius minifigure. YES.
  24. Totally agree that the Wizard is better in real life. I actually really liked the cape--the usual cape material is much stiffer, so it's hard to make figs sit down. Also love the shiny stars printed on it.
  25. Sell it, use the money for one second hand set and one steamroller rental.
