  1. I think the Toy Shop & Grocery is the next thing in this vein, but it's a little smaller.
  2. Hmm. Got to say I hope it's not licensed. Ghostbusters will only start shooting next year, so that kinda seems unlikely for this coming summer. Is there a new Scooby series? If not, maybe it's more like the classic movie monster tropes with different non-monster characters.
  3. For comparison, in 1995 the 6090 Royal Knight's Castle was $95. According to the internet (with necessary caveats), that's $147.89 in 2014 money. So a $150 or $160 modular seems a comparable "big present" for a kid who's old enough not to lose the pieces/get frustrated with the tiny details.
  4. I'd be interested, but I'll hold out for the designer video. It looks again like there's a lot of attention paid to the interior, but my vision isn't good enough to make out enough from the pic of the back of the box to know what I think yet. I do love the detailing around the roof, and I'm curious for a closer look inside that alley.
  5. There's a lot to like here, although I've got to say the exterior seems a bit flatter than usual in spite of the masonry bricks. I like the ruggedness of the left side, but might want to change the color scheme on the right. Will be very curious to see the designer video for this.
  6. Would love to see an image if anyone has one to share...
  7. Blue and yellow with a bit of orange? Hmm. It'll be interesting to see how they do this but that doesn't exactly scream "film noir" to me, which is what I think a lot of us have had in mind...
  8. Real-life female scientists are probably easier to tell kids about than what pirates really did to each other...
  9. Wish I'd been able to get one.
  10. We'll see in a month... Although that may be another announcement for the Fairground Mixer, who knows
  11. Anybody else just leave all the stickers off? I just got mine and thought I'd leave them off at least for the first build and I think it looks fantastic. I also love being able to see so much of the lobby interior from the outside.
  12. True, but if we only get five-ish sets in the theme it means that the fort takes up two of those slots instead of just one. In other words, it's a bit like a four-set wave, albeit one with some great things in it.
  13. Do you still have a mint box from the old one? Do you want a mint box for yourself? If you have a box and don't want a box, get this one and resell it with the nice box. Then you get a TH for yourself and a nice box to sell.
  14. What's already been said--keep it if there's a valuable set that you might sell. Or just go ahead and sell boxes to retired sets now, is one way to get rid of them. I personally don't have much use for the boxes (I do miss the old ones with the lift-up flaps) so I just recycle them all.
  15. LOL so it's made of LEGO? I was wondering why you'd used that other stuff... Great design, btw, it does look, uh, bad
  16. That happened when I bought a used Black Seas Barracuda to replace the one I had as a kid. Frustrating, but it's a quite satisfying project to take inventory and watch it take shape, as well as possibly come up with some modifications of your own. I feel for you though...
  17. Oh hi there's a box for writing stuff, cool!

  18. I will probably stick with Lego rather than Shell since petrol is less fun to play with, smelly, and harder to store in my home.
  19. My inner child is so proud that this thread became about toilets
  20. I think it's amusing that there are two(?) toilets in the 2015 City line but neither of them is connected to a building. It does make you wonder though, if minifigs need toilets where have they been going before the advent of the Pet Shop? Was that the first LEGO toilet? These are the questions that keep us up at night.
  21. Ignoring which will go out of production first: Pet Shop or Palace Cinema? A lot of the building techniques that seem interesting in the Pet Shop are similar to the Parisian Restaurant, which I already have so...
  22. After my dark age, 6248 Volcano Island was one of the first sets I tracked down. I think my original copy was actually my brother's, but it was and is one of my favorite sets anyway. I love that the new Treasure Island looks to be a fresh take on a classic. Nothing like secret treasures hidden behind brick-built skulls
  23. We are on a rumor thread. What else is it for? When there is real info they'll make a thread for that. I bet the next modular is a vacant lot. No interiors, but maybe a unique color for the baseplate.
  24. Definitely that all makes sense, and I didn't mean to criticize LEGO for any of that. I only meant that speculating whether we might see a modular this week was based on the little bit of info we had, and that it had at the time seemed to me more likely after Brickcon (and the main LEGO facebook and youtube channels also) already revealing the Slave I.
  25. Fair enough, and I'd prefer chrome personally. I just don't think we're likely to see it in these sets.
