That engine is just perfect.

Thanks for responses! One thing I'm still not sure if the height of the platform, which is 2x bricks + 1x plate + 1x tile (or 8x plates in total), is sufficient for passenger trains? I don't have any to test unfortunately.

Does this mean new version may not work under Linux at all? Even under Wine?

I got 71044 set for myself and it looks great. However I felt like train station was half finished. Yes, it is build for play-ability, but looked half finished. Since I was never going to play with it and didn't really like all the Disney logos and associations next best thing I could think of was to modify it. First thing the station was missing is, obviously, the back side. My idea was to use the actual train station which is located one of Disney parks, to build the missing back, but strip it from any Disney logos. Most of the build is quite easy since it replicates the portions of the existing set. However getting around to build those windows at the bottom floor was a bit tricky. Last thing original set was lacking is a platform. There's nothing fancy here as it is built on top of two baseplates. These can be separated though, as well as the train station. This makes entire model to be easy to move in three pieces. This is my first train station. So I would be glad to hear reasonable suggestions how could I improve it or its surroundings.

This MOC began quite like in the Inception movie. At some point I've seen a symbol representing generic house - floor, two walls and 45 degree slope roof. After a while it then struck me I can build a modular to look exactly like that. So here I am with a modular that looks like contemporary house you can see being build these days. As you can see there are three floors. It was designed with intention to have a full interior. Someday it will probably, most likely, I think, will have the interior Here it can been seen incorporated between my two other modulars.

FYI, there's already a blog with similar idea - ArchBrick. I'd rather keep checking your topic here on EB than going somewhere else. And I might be not the only one, so separate blog could get a much smaller audience.

I use Rebrickable to keep record of my LEGO collection. There is a feature allowing you to create custom part lists without publishing an entire MOC. You do this by either placing your parts manually or uploading LDD, LDraw files of and then "build it", which will show you the missing parts. It will be easier to find a unicorn than Bricklink shop having all the missing parts for my MOCs, yet still decently priced. So it it is unavoidable to have many orders for a single model.

Why not the 1L Technic "beam"-connector instead? This would have less contact surface with middle gear and still keep other two from going anywhere.

Stickers will survive even if you put them into water for a short while, so wiping with damp cloth is going to be fine.

Technic 2019 Set Discussion
zux replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
These are renders anyway, so we cannot be 100% sure yet if white arches don't have stickers on them. But if that will be true, then the fact TLG decide to release (yet another) Porsche with parts (we need) being printed, will be NO-NO. -

Thanks for sharing. Love these behind the scene videos. It is even more interesting than the final video captured for LEGO. -
Technic 2019 Set Discussion
zux replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yet another (big) Porsche? What the hell?!?! 911's are all the same for past 20 years. What's the point of releasing almost the same car in two year difference? If there was a real need for one, Porsche has some other cooler models. Disappointed. I like the fact this time big vehicle is not purple, some odd shade of blue or orange. So we get some good selection of parts in standard colours. Oh boy and those headlight covers are hideous. Enjoy while you can. PF2.0 is awfull as hell at this point of time. -
The issue with Exosuit was the hype around green Classic Space minifigures (I believe) and the limited number of sets (the usual numbers for Ideas set). Due to sucha huge "hype" TLG produced another batch of sets and this is where everything was ruined.

Best tires for drift cars?
zux replied to Chilli's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
They are kind of soft, so rather grippy. A layer of clear tape or camber change would help. -
From this limited views I would assume parts are held purely by gravity and are not attached to each of two sides. One of those 4 non-hatched plates could be Plate 2 x 2 Corner, just to keep it from sliding. Speaking of length of that tile. It is hard to tell from a single blurry picture. My assumption is that this is made of two parts, one of which is attached from below. Again, this is purely speculation, as given information is very limited.

Technic 2019 Set Discussion
zux replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Alright guys, I've missed the leaked pictures and I kind of unable to find them anywhere (Good job TLG!). Anyone mind to post pictures of real vehicles (or whatever was there) to understand the vibe of 2019H1 sets please? -
[MOC] Pendulum Waves

Great, nice and clean model. That's the kind of Technic set that deserves to be released as an Ideas set! -
learnt from experience, never use storage box with division
zux replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sorting by colour is great when you have sufficient space to store each part-colour combination separately. Otherwise it is advised to sort my form/part type. In such way it is much easier to find required piece in needed colour rather than looking for that tiny part amongst similarly shaped parts of the same colour. -
[MOC] AXI Phantom M

Cool combination of brick-built body over Technic base for a car model. You don't see this combo really often. -
LEGO Technic Rainbowgatti
zux replied to kraai's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It looks perfect! Reminds me of BMW M3 GT2 Art Car by Jeff Koons. -
While the model is great for its scale and is excellent as a MOC it just doesn't have this appeal required for an Ideas set. Tbh, model is just too generic and cannot even be recognised as JEEP. Think out side of the box, something that a non-LEGO fan person would be interested in purchasing for a worthy Ideas project.

Technic brick and plate w holes doesn't match
zux replied to Awerick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That is known fact. Please have a look at this presentation. -
Comparing 60051 with short locomotive 214 extra parts are required. With long locomotive number of extra parts is increased to 260.

Thanks for explaining. It wasn't immediately obvious from your initial pictures, but now that you've explained it I can see this is going to be fine. Looking forward seeing you built it with real bricks!
