A car rack on the back. When you look at the picture, there's a "grip" on the back of the car, which I think is supposedly where you put the bike. A very, very, very simplified version of:

I've already got Pet shop… ;) Have to agree, don't really see how they got >1000 pieces in that set. The price would roughly translate to about 70 euro's and that's a bit much, too, though it is somewhere in the ballpark of recent bigger sets.

Yep, he posted that message on brickset yesterday, and said the site would be down quite some time because of that. There's been some trouble over the last few days with servers. Also, they're busy migrating to a new site-layout.

I'm curious where the notion of this set being "1000 pcs" comes from. The first time I saw this mentioned was just after the first blurry photo of the preliminary box appeared, but that said "000 pcs". I'm guessing someone misread that and made it to be "1000 pcs". And, to be honest, it's just a typical Creator building. Slightly larger and more realistic than a City building, but decidedly smaller and less realistic than a Modular. Have to see the price first before I decide if I want this. Ideally I would want 2 of these, to make a building that would work wit the modulars in my city, but I think I can also make it work with the stuff from the old City Square I got last year.

Don't really care for the arctic theme - wouldn't know how to fit it in with my town - but 60035 is interesting in that it could provide me with a lot of parts that can be used for municipal vehicles...

They did something like this before, just not in city… ;) Prezes: great pictures! This is one of the sets I want to pick up this year, sadly "it" has apparently been decided that we have to wait a while over here in the Netherlands. None of the non-police sets of 2014 has appeared in the shops over here…

What's with the yellow sticker on the back beam? Is that required to keep it together? Looks really good, though!

I doubt you'll see as much livestock as can be seen in this pretty little scene… ;)

Well, Lone Ranger is a quite specific take on the wild west theme, and it never was that big over here (not in the past and apparently also not with this movie). But maybe you are right and wild west in general is a thing that just isn't that "hot" anymore with kids. Must take a look at the Playmobil sets next time I visit a toy store, just for comparison.

These sets are still on the shelves over here. Lots of them, actually. I don't think they've sold that well over here, the shelves always looked pretty "full" with them, meaning it looked as though none or at maximum 1 or 2 sets were sold. To be honest, they are pretty expensive for what you get and the movie didn't do very well either over here (The Lone Ranger never has been "big" over here), so I'm actually not that surprised that shops still have quite large quantities of these sets left. When I was in an Intertoys in Amsterdam two weeks ago hey had some of these sets on sale with quite big discounts, up to 50%! I was tempted to buy the Stagecoach, but didn't buy it as even with such a large discount I still thought it to be a bit too expensive for what you get.

I've got 5 of the orange ones. Find them quite useful. I keep them stored with my collection of loose bricks.

Works fine on Safari for me...

Piranha posted a site that also hosts them: #851

Lego have done quite a view of these in the last years. Look at the Creator series and to some extent the Mopdulars (Pet Shop has a townhouse in the set, for example).

Love the little touches, like the crumpled up front fender on the car...

I would have never imagined I'd buy a Simpsons-theme Lego set, certainly not a house. This set I would buy for the house alone, I really like it. Just a mundane "normal" house from the outside, but that's exactly what lego is missing at the moment (Creator/City houses are a bit too colourfull for my liking, the modulars are more city-oriented houses). But I'm also afraid this one's going to be way too expensive to buy as just a house for my lay-out. There will undoubtedly be a premium to pay for the license and there's also a lot of Simpsons stuff that will be unused by me, but will add to the set-price. Well, we'll just see what happens there.

Nice review! It was used like that in this year's advent calender too, on the toy steamtrain. ;)

At first I wasn't really sure about the shape of the nose on this truck, but helped by the pictures of this topic I built it myself this afternoon and am convinced that it looks the part after all. Would keep the bumper a bit higher, though. I am still not sure if I will buy this set. I think it's pretty spot on in it's overall shape, just like the truck-recovery vehicles you see over here too, but it's a bit too bulky compared to the rest of my vehicles.

Yep, looks like a photoshop to me, and quite a bad one at that too. The "bakfiets" seems to consist of two cut-up bicycleframes and a wheelbarrow with its handlebars and wheelholder cut off. For what it is, it looks like one of those modern "bakfietsen": Personally, I like the old fashioned ones better:

Might be the same for me...

It seems there will be at least one classic style spaceship and it's going to be a whopper: Discussion over here: Special Themes Boy do I want this one… those classic style "engines"!

Weird! Over here the only listed price that I can find is at bol.com, at € 24,99. However, I bought 60043 for 20,99 at Intertoys, which is the same price they charged for similar sized sets this year. So I think Bol is just a bit cautious in putting up the prices (they don't stock them yet) and in the end the price will end up at the 20-21 mark over here. With a bit of patience, however, Kruidvat (a drugstore that also sells a small selection of lego sets) will have them on discount in spring (I hope), which usually means around 14-15 euro's for these sets. Got quite a few of the "great vehicles" at that price in the last 2 years... edit: ah, that makes more sense, so it was a wrong price after all!

Easy (ok, not easy to find): use the "share this photo" function, which is the icon of a box with the arrow pointing out of the top right hand corner of it on the right of your screen. Then choose the "pin" option and copy the link, which gives you all you need to post the picture and a link to that picture on Flickr.

My girlfriend secretly arranged it so that this arrived a good week ago. She's just lovely. And this calender is too, especially partswise.
