  1. lol at the presentation. :)
  2. I'd never even heard of a transporter bridge until a couple weeks ago. Very rare type, indeed. Cool to see someone thinking outside the box. :)
  3. That's why people do it through BrickLink. Much cheaper, especially with a couple minor modifications, such as not using sand green 1x8 bricks... Read through this whole topic, and you'll get ideas on how to do it easily, and if you want to save some extra money.
  4. Must be a Poland S@H sale... Seems to me that the typical LEGO sale doesn't cross between calendar months. I'd be surprised if whatever you see goes past the 30th. You can always call and ask.
  5. Darth Reaper, Put all the parts you're after on a wish list at BrickLink. You can then sort stores by which have the most parts you need. This will typically save you $$$ in the long run by minimizing shipping charges.
  6. Thinking out loud here, but I've never been all that excited about the idea of inside corner modulars, but quite a few people are. My thought is that this is a feature that virtually doesn't exist in US cities, but isn't so rare in Europe... Maybe it's just Europeans that are excited by the idea?
  7. This seems appropriate to the discussion... I've got a young daughter, so I'm very pleased that LEGO is being more inclusive with their direction.
  8. My only complaint is that you haven't shared the LDD parts list so the rest of us can make this amazing improvement to our own Fallingwater sets.
  9. I've read a couple places that if you turn the knob to close the door one way, it only closes loosely, but if you turn the knob the other way that it closes nice and tight.
  10. Indeed. I'm in the US and I found some great deals from BrickLink stores in Germany and Denmark. I expected the shipping to be crazy expensive, but it worked out it was still less expensive than going with US sellers.
  11. For a color pop, often museums have large banners on the front for the exhibit within. Something like the movie posters on PC, but turned out 90* to look like banners might be a nice touch.
  12. With the price of getting in to one of the factory tours, I wouldn't call that a 'free' set. At the same time, a company that uses minifigs as business cards shouldn't surprise you that they give away bricks. :)
  13. Mostly OT, but if I think something is cool or interesting from another era, I will pick that up too. I've only been out of the dark ages for a year, and I'm a full-time college student (at 41) so I can't get everything that I want. Mostly because I like some things outside of SW such as Architecture, the modulars, and the Creator Expert line... Starting to look at some of the headline Technic sets, too.... My wallet hates me.
  14. No kidding. Most people can't even buy it and he's already MODded it!
  15. You gonna make some folks maaaaad! Were there a lot of stickers, or is it mostly printed parts?
  16. I think the standard smiley face is perfect in the modulars, and if you're doing scenes or whatnot, you can substitute newer style faces for key players, making them stand out more. Being given a different set of expressions actually sort of forces you into certain scenes or scenarios to an extent, but with the classic smileys you can set up anything you can imagine.
  17. So... what hoops will we need to jump through to receive this British Racing Green little marvel?
  18. I'm sure an aerospace engineer could do the math, but I sincerely doubt that you can achieve the necessary HP to weight ratio necessary to achieve heavier than air flight with LEGO motors with an entirely LEGO airframe and unmodified LEGO battery pack(s).
  19. Looks pretty darned good for what looks like 82 pieces.
  20. Just got my 'young' Vitruvius... With a snow-white beard past his waist, not sure how young he can be.
  21. I don't think the disagreement is settled. The movie wasn't offered as a preorder at all. My preorder from Wal-Mart actually got here just a couple hours after Amazon sent out the e-mail alerts for those who didn't get in before the original preorder was shut down.
  22. Seems more like a multimedia or game project...
  23. I think a lot of non-AFOLs have trouble recognizing Technic as LEGO.
  24. If the goal is to build a city... Yes. Not counting the building around geographical features, that's typically how they work outside of European city medieval centers. Once a block has 4 corners you can add as many or as few straight buildings between them as you'd like. Even if all you want is to do both sides of one street, you'd still typically need four corners to cap both ends of the street. ...and frankly, even though HH is a very nice building, it belongs in a residential neighborhood, not a downtown core.
