  1. Dang near every site is saying UCS except those that are quoting the TLG press release verbatim. Someone had a box image up yesterday but I can't find it now... It said Ultimate Collector's Series and had the same symbol from the Sandcrawler, but in blue... Unless it was a VERY good photoshop...
  2. I think the combination of scale and shape together is a better gauge of accuracy than either one alone... 7662 has a very nice shape and a much better scale. 75058 has a very nice shape, but the scale is pretty weak. All those inappropriate openings in the new one take away a lot for me... I did think of something interesting, concerning scale. The minifig droids can't fold anywhere near as compactly as the movie ones. So, either way, these MTT would hold quite a few more than the 16 or even 6 that these sets come with at the current scales.
  3. I can't believe this had fallen all the way to page 5... Anyways. Has anyone seen Trevi on store shelves in the US, or are they playing the strict street date on this?
  4. There's a problem with your comparison image, Phil: only one has anything in it for scale comparison, the left one. I'm betting that with a droid in each of the other two, 7662 starts to look a whole lot better.
  5. ...and yet you still didn't get me one for my birthday?
  6. So, I was messing around with BL last night and I found one store that had 57/60 lots for Jurgens Ultimate that I needed, but he wanted $200US for them... A few lines down, I found a US seller that had about 45/60 for $40 ...and a second seller with the other 15/60 for $30 WTH? SOLD. So, I think all I'll need now is 4 M-motors and 2 IR receivers and controllers.
  7. I know that the pod's steering was mostly by camber adjustment... (until the wheels somehow rolled sideways) I don't remember, did the tumbler itself steer differently? ...and it seems that it would be easier to send the drive function to the front wheels and steering through the back maybe?
  8. I used to get that sometimes. It can be related to your antivirus software, that was almost always what caused it for me.
  9. As if this argument wasn't contentious enough.... UCS Tumbler was leaked today by USA Today, and virtually every Lego site blew it up from there. UCS: Definitely not just a Star Wars thing any more.
  10. Several people have in Europe. I don't think it's hit any US shelves yet, though.
  11. Do NOT go to the Licensed forum right now if you want more info on this. They've blown up like 7 pages already on this today.
  12. Um, all online PAB orders come from Europe. I believe they are filled in Poland. BNP orders are filled in Denmark. Lego Stores order PAB selections from an even smaller selection than we get online. Some they carry because they have to, the rest the manager gets to choose. It's why each store's PAB wall has a different selection. Whatever they order, they get thousands of that brick and restock the buckets several times before they need to make a new order. The distribution center down in Mississippi has full sets, not bricks. The sets are all packaged in Europe, IIRC, even though individual bricks are made in many different countries around the world.
  13. Gotta keep in mid that there are different takes on The Joker, even in the comics. Ledger's is VERY accurate in the sense that he based his characterization on a few key things: 1. A conscious decision to avoid similarities with Jack Nicholson's version 2. The original 1940's 2-issue introduction of the character 3. Batman: The Killing Joke and to a lesser extent, 4. Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth According to interviews, he also took inspiration from A Clockwork Orange and Sid Vicious. Definitely not. My UCS Red 5 X-wing and UCS B-Wing have several, even apart from the spec plaque.
  14. ...and no arguments about whether or not it's a UCS, it's got a spec plate.
  15. I've never had anything from PAB take that long. You make someone mad?
  16. I thought you guys were talking about the OTHER Kenner transport vehicle... It was a action figure carrying case based on the spaceship design of the Rebel transports that escaped from Hoth... Held like 25 figures, IRC.
  17. TSA searches thousands of bags daily. Having traveled extensively, I've got a stack of those cards.
  18. I'm just thinking how all the US street sweepers with a side brush I've seen work, which is to rotate out on an arm with a very slight rise as it tucks inside the hull. With that lego brush, it's never going to actually touch bristles to ground, so to me it's just a matter of looking good while swinging in and out...
  19. If this maintains the trend of the first 5 days, it would cap out at 90,000. If it maintains the pace of days 3-5, it will sail past all the stretch goals. Of course, the normal Kickstarter drive has a big surge at the beginning and another at the end with a much slower middle period... So if we want this to succeed, spread the word!
  20. Like any of us know all of the contractual legalese between major global corporations? Or maybe we just have another surprise on the way, much like how nobody was aware of the impending MTT until it showed up on a Lego Store shelf a month or so back?
  21. I'm thinking that the side brush could rotate to swing out instead of lower... That ought to save you a bunch of parts.
  22. I'm calling it now: Wuher or Dr Evazan And the howls of rage from the SW community will ring through eternity.
