I'm sorry, but are there STICKERS on the INSIDE of the wheels? Seriously? It's hard putting stickers on the OUTSIDE of a curved piece, where you have plenty of room to maneuver your fingers.

Drop the mic. That is stunning. Where is the motor hidden, and can you get a better picture of the sleeping bunk? -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 12 Rumours and Discussion
rollermonkey replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The skirt only goes around exactly once, no overlap, with three holes for putting it on the leg studs. The 'best' looking way (IMO) puts a leg slit on either the right or left corner, either the front or back depending on how you put it on.. Although I guess you are able to center the slit, I think it looks poor. On one, I have it so that the slit is on the back-right corner, the other on the back-left. Typing that out makes it seem like I put way too much thought into that, but I did the first one the other night in about 20 seconds, and maybe 30 seconds yesterday when I did the second one. Explaining it actually took much longer.- 1,109 replies

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
rollermonkey replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
My regular schedule doesn't work well with normal people's lives... I sleep 6a - 1pm, and my daughter's school has a function at 4, so I'd have to try to adjust tonight and go early. Ugh. I may try, but no guarantees. -

Is it odd that I got a second Spooky Girl, put her skirt on the opposite way as the first, put her teddy in the opposite hand and put them in my HH looking like the Shining twins?- 1,109 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I suspect that once the green pig has its operators inside and stands up, that the skin flaps on the front legs will sort themselves out just fine. If people are reading the steady stream of Episode VII rumors out there, I think JJ is corrupting the stream... There's too much, and there is starting to be a lot of conflicting bits... Which is good, but it will make speculation about future LEGO sets much, much more difficult. <Paitiently waiting for Just2Good's update, which I am sure will unleash a hurricane of activity in here once it drops. -
I've only built the first 3 of 6 bags, but it's a lot better than I expected. It may not have the interior of the actual ship as shown in the pilot episode, but it has a lot more than I was expecting. I'm an OT guy myself, (Star Wars was the first movie I ever saw in theaters as a kid) but I'm pretty open minded. I don't even think the Stormtrooper looks bad at all. Too many people just like to complain for the sake of complaining. Also, I really do believe it is priced extremely well when compared to other SW sets and strongly expect there to be a price increase soon. There are interesting parts for MOCing, even if you end up not liking the ship. Sand green tiles? How very useful if you want to make a Slave I...

Are you a collector, MODer, or MOCer?
rollermonkey replied to Paul B Technic's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Collector 99%, but that includes a couple sets I've bricklink'ed together from parts. I've tried my hand at a MOC only once since coming out of the dark ages, and it was a Technic/PF build that seems to delight in tearing itself apart. So, I keep collecting to see if I can get ideas what I'm doing wrong. -

I'm guessing one will be the modular reveal, and the other will be the SW Slave I reveal. The question is which comes first? -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 12 Rumours and Discussion

Hit the Lego store and went through well over 100 packs without finding a single Princess or Rock Star... I walked away to grab a SW set when they added a box to the shelf, found both in the first ten packs. I lost count of how many Athena I found along the way, but it was a lot. In all that, I only found one Genie Girl, which I gave to the little girl who was looking for one with her mom.- 1,109 replies

Picked up the Ghost... At $90 for a 929 piece SW set with 4 minifigs, it is bound for a "price correction" once the show starts or shortly afterwards.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The Emperor may have been dead for 30 years, maybe not. LOTS of rumors swirling around have him and Vader appearing in VII in some form... Force ghost, flashback, or maybe not actually dead... Difficult to see, always in motion the future is. -

Remember: modulars have floors that are easily separated. The Haunted House does not. Access is via the 'dollhouse' hinged design. If you go 32X32, the mod will be more extensive than just plunking it down on a 32X32 baseplate if you actually want to get inside. I like your idea of 3-16X32 plates. You can keep the current dollhouse design and add the front yard on another hinge... OR... Put the front yard and the front of the house on a 32X32 and the back of the house on a 16X32. You keep the dollhouse design, can incorporate the larger plate into the standard modular row, and set the house back from the 'street'.

That 'twist' was pretty well foreshadowed by all the real world stuff we had been shown long before Emmett jumped out the window. -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 12 Rumours and Discussion
rollermonkey replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The Walgreen's near my college had exactly one S12 minifig, I think it was a wizard. The next one I checked still had Simpson's, and the third one had about a dozen. I got the Spooky Girl easily, even though it was the last one I checked, and I wanted a Princess for my daughter, but I ended up with two Wizards. I definitely know the difference between the crystal and the frog now.- 1,109 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The preliminary image had a label that was pretty clearly Jar Jar Binks. Pretty unlikely they'd sub a generic Gungan for a named character. Wow. fatalistic much? Just because YOU (and some others) feel this way, we have no way of knowing that Rebels will be a failure at this point. It could be huge and make millions for TLG, even though it isn't what you want today.
