LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
OK, cool... Also: Just2Good just dropped a bunch of final images for TLM sets and says that he's got the SW final images, too... (And DC, and Speed Champions and others) Now, to wait patiently until he gets around to us for sharing. -
2015 The LEGO Movie rumors and discussion
rollermonkey replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yeah, I'm thinking that the DDC set is like the closing titles image for the TLM sets... I'm not expecting any more after these until TLM2. -

Since the October calendar doesn't have any release dates, does this mean that the UCS Slave I will not arrive in 2014? -
A couple. Does Denver have one?

The real-life articulated dump truck has double-axles on the rear half. One of the prototypes did, IIRC. What is the primarily black model between the Dell and Apple monitors? (box against the far wall)

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The premier episode of Rebels is available for streaming on DisneyXD.com now. The wookiee gunship and AT-DP make brief appearances, the speeder bikes we saw in the preview, the Ghost is shown pretty extensively, including interiors (they have the same chessboard as on the Falcon), TIE fighters, but not the Advanced prototype just yet... Sabine turned out pretty cool, her armor is actually even better than I expected, and yeah, the wookiees look pretty horrible. Phantom isn't used yet, but we do learn why Ezra has a stromtrooper helmet in that set. Oh, and the troopers actually look pretty good, IMO. The difference between them and OT troopers seems to mostly just be due to the animation style rather than actual conceptual or structural differences. In all, it actually does make me more interested in the Ghost set, I wasn't expecting that. The ship is cooler than the set pictures make it look, I guess probably because it is a lot bigger than the minifig scale made it seem. -
The value of the Imperial Star Destroyer (set 75055)
rollermonkey replied to Something_Awesome's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I don't? I guess I'd better tell my econ professor to explain it to me again then. :P The set costs what it does and the figures cost what they do. Just because the figures can be sold doesn't change the initial cost of the set or the PPP of the rest of the pieces. -
I still have the one I bought with the intention of putting on eBay someday...

The value of the Imperial Star Destroyer (set 75055)

I don't think you understand economics... The aftermarket prices of figures don't change the opportunity cost of buying complete sets. -
Just wow. Somebody doesn't like reverse engineered models and everyone dogpiles on him like he's the biggest jerk ever. Maybe his tone was harsh, but then again, not everybody here has the same cultural interpretations... Frankly, I kind of agree with the Italian guy. While it may take a skill to do it, I don't see the point. In a few months, we can build the actual sets. Are some people really so impatient? For that matter, if they wanted to make these things, why not MOC them before TLG designed them? I looked at the leaked images and had no desire to make them before the sets came out, and when the reverse engineered versions first started popping up, I didn't really care for what I was seeing, I just didn't say anything. But god forbid someone come up with a topic that everyone doesn't feel the same about... That might spark interesting conversation. /grumpy rant

Very sorry, I didn't notice the set number. I thought you were talking about the new, small one from the Architecture line. I don't have the Creator Expert one. ...and dropbox / Word? Really?

So, are these just the 2015 1H sets, or was this year's split only due to the LEGO movie messing up waves all over the place?
-
A picture is worth a thousand words... I'm on campus, so I'll have to look when I get home. That said, I don't remember any particular oddities when I built mine.

...and in a 'well that's certainly out of place' kind of moment, the new Imperial Star Destroyer (75055) has a coffee cup sitting next to a radar screen. How Spaceballs is that?

Spare bricks
rollermonkey replied to Tacker's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
On the main page, there is a link for "missing bricks", once through that, you can buy loose bricks a couple different ways. -
Blakbird, while OP did indeed ask what the sets would go for, the stock answer is always check BL and eBay, and the topic title certainly suggests that he hasnt reached a decision concerning selling.

He broke up your list of characteristics, which have never been combined into a single character, and chose a bunch of characters that each had one individual trait from the list. Ahsoka seems to represent colorful hair... Which of course ignores the entire point of your post by being pedantic and nit-picky, in the typical SW fanboy fashion. :P :roll -
I hope that you don't decide to sell... But if you do, please consider those AFOLs who were in the dark age and don't have such lovely sets as 8043, 8110.

This year's ISD, which leaves me very close to done with SW for 2014, just wanting the figs from the B-Wing and a second Cantina. ...and Slave I if it drops this year, of course.
