  1. Urban Exploration Vehicle?
  2. Love all of the extraneous whirly bits!
  3. Does anyone think we'll get a replacement for Tower Bridge in 2015?
  4. The products are all still there if you search for Technic.
  5. Music was a tad bit overdramatic, eh?
  6. It won't matter what version it is, people will complain.
  7. Really? He's usually better than that, but it may be something to do with Erin leaving the Lynnwood store very soon...
  8. On Wednesday, I finally actually saw a Tumbler in the local store. Actually, I saw two. Both were on the way out the door with two different parties. Fortunately I had better luck on Friday, and picked it up on the last day of double-points. I'm building it now and just finished the bags #1. The new tires are VERY cool. I may have to order another pair or two to MOC with in the future. Flipping through the instructions, (5 books!) it actually looks like this uses even more Technic than even Star Wars UCS sets.
  9. Are you specifically referring to the 2/3 fingers vs 1/2? Because they still have hinges that are in the same plane as the plates that are being connected.
  10. He hasn't posted in 6 weeks.
  11. That's not what I pictured happening at all...
  12. Not as likely as GE or TH, both of which have been heavily rumored to be retiring for months, with nary a peep about PS.
  13. Safe? Normally. Guaranteed? Nope. Rumors are swirling about that a couple of the 2014 SW sets will be retiring this year... But other sets have disappeared in 12 months, just not a modular.
  14. Ezra has hair and helmet, and there are others.
  15. 2nd Cantina for more accurate build possibilities.
  16. A-wing was a large set?
  17. I am starting to wonder if some people prefer to search for loopholes in the rules than actually focus on following the pretty obvious intent of the contest... Build a MOC using parts from one or two sets which combined, total less that 600 pieces. All this "but what about" for weeks now!
  18. Great looking Cantina, but the thing that really took me by surprise? The fact that you incorporated the unfolding aspect! That was awesome!
  19. Really? Huh! Great use of perspective, then!
  20. I had to look more closely to see that it wasn't actually functional. At first glance, I thought that the keys might move the arms. (not that it would actually type on paper.) I do, however, see some movement of the carriage... Is that little bit as far as it goes?
  21. ^That isn't 100% true... You can still buy BTTF DeLoreans and Ghostbusters ECTO-1s... ...and don't overlook the fact that Minecraft is an entire line that started from LEGO Ideas. Some Ideas sets sell out quickly, and the common point seems to be licensing. Ignoring JAXA/NASA, the sets that vanish quickly are unlicensed. Something in the licensing agreements must require some sort of period of availability and/or minimum quantity produced. Maybe NASA and JAXA being government agencies weren't motivated to include such requirements or those agreements were formed before the madness of speculators was evident.
  22. I have one green one and more than 50 orange ones. He's not wrong. It is getting a bit ridiculous. Every Architecture set has one, and any other set over about $30 now, as well. They used to come in $100 sets, but that dropped to $50 sets a while back. I mean, the A-wing had one, and that's not by any stretch of the imagination a large set. I'm starting to wonder when they'll show up in battle packs and CMF pouches. When, not if. With the price of sets always climbing, and the sets with separators starting from lower price-points, I don't understand how people don't have any of the newest ones, yet spend significant time on a LEGO forum...
  23. That shock absorber is why I was imagining a turntable to rotate tracks, bogies, suspension all together. The shocks could connect below a turntable permitting steering. Those link arms are far enough out from centerline to get some good geometry/leverage to turn all of that together. That would mean the mechanism for steering would be in the middle of the vehicle (front-to-back) and the steering knob could then easily be on the back and out of sight, a-la 42009. I could be 100% wrong, but yeah. The speculation is fun.
  24. Absolutely agree. The back is much easier to see, and certainly looks uncomplicated enough that there's no steering back there.
