  1. I got more than 75% of the way through book 3 last night, so if I don't finish tonight (a definite possibility) I will definitely be done Friday. , Friday sounds like a GREAT day to announce a contest, Jim!
  2. What? I can't savor it? I just finished book 2, so it should start to go faster now.
  3. I'm so disappointed! The last black pin with a ball on one end floated up to the top of the bag with several hundred regular black pins, so I didn't get to look for 20 minutes like when I searched for the next-to-last one. I could throw it back in and mix them up real good, but that would feel like cheating...
  4. Hopefully I have time to finish this Unimog before you start it!
  5. I think all these in and out of stock issues for PS, TH and GE are resellers making bets towards whichever retires next, and it's making it impossible for anyone to actually tell which one it is going to be. Once the word retired pops up on one of them, stocks of the other two will likely stabilize. <H8s resellers who are only after huge profits at the expense of others.
  6. I don't have a picture, but the only real issue is that the balloon cart is unrealistically large/tall. (The push handle is eyeball-high on a minifig.) If you can deal with that, then it's a great fit.
  7. Near as I can remember, all questions concerning real-world strength / structural integrity have been ignored... At this point, I just assume it's an LDD-only project. I stand corrected. He talked about a metal structure on page 2.
  8. Holy... I was not prepared for how large this thing is! A few pages into book 2/5 now, and I'm just stunned how big it already is, but how much is still left! :o
  9. Everything retires eventually... Unless it's the Death Star.
  10. Sacre bleu! You aren't suggesting that AFOL/SW fans are a bunch of Negative Nancies, are you? :o
  11. MUCH better views of the AT-DPs in the second episode of Rebels, and I didn't see the yellow bits we've seen on the sets... Maybe/hopefully they'll be able to fix it before release. Lots of ep. IV throwbacks... but I won't spoil it for you.
  12. No... If it sold so poorly that its getting retired early, then there will be fewer available in the aftermarket, and thus command higher prices.
  13. There is a software/website that can help, if you have everything set up just right... Let me see if I can find it again. Pretty sure you can import your LDD file into you BL wanted list, then shop by wanted list and sort by (Unique) lots... But there is another way, if I can just find it. Here it is. the program is Brickstore, from BrickForge.
  14. He said he's interested in all three, PS, TH and GE. TH more than GE and PS more than TH. So, I suggested he get TH before PS, as it is more likely to retire before PS and be more expensive once retired than either GE or PS.
  15. I wish buggy motors and whatnot weren't so expensive on BL.
  16. which is why I'm suggesting that he get TH not GE... Was that not clear?
  17. They send an e-mail with a price quote in a little while (hours to a day or two) and you pay over the phone.
  18. ...because I was curious if he had a cool/funny story behind his MOC. Thanks Summo! That's funny.
  19. PS is most likely not the next set to retire. Virtually all of the rumors have been about TH and GE. GE and TH both seem to be on the cusp of retirement which doesn't help. I'd get TH at retail over GE, solely because starting at a higher price, it will also resell initially at a higher point than GE. If you get one, and the other retires, I'd rather be chasing after GE than TH than the other way. Further food for thought: Right now, there are 192 GE for sale on BrickLink, but only 80 TH. Scarcity increases cost, too.
  20. ? Chopper shoots a TIE with the Phantom's cannon in Spark... Although it is kind of a blink and you'll miss it moment.
  21. I mostly remember the little boxes sets like 420 came in. Tiny things, and displayed much like how Matchbox cars were sold at the 5 & dime stores. Little towers and you pulled one out of the bottom. Yellow sides, angled 'Legoland' banner in the top left... alternate builds on the back... And they were mostly cheap enough to buy with a week's allowance. And that blue plate wedged into the roof? Now, that's an illegal connection, but it was the only way to do SNOT back then! I bet that many kids today don't even know that a plate edge can be aligned between studs!
  22. His Milwaukee Art Museum is far more impressive, IMHO.
  23. That's ridiculous... In other words, perfect! Is there an explanation why it's being driven by an Octan robot in a pig costume?
  24. ...and look at that! Front Page love! Congrats!
