LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
As long as there's a Corellian coffee maker in the Falcon this time, it's all good. -
Also: thread title is misleading. Should be: Kyra's Speeder [MOC]

The height comparison between the Prototype and the standard TIEs in that pic from Rebels is a problem of perspective. The viewpoint is from below the center of the fighter and the standard ones are farther away. They'd have to be lined up side by side to tell how much taller or shorter the prototype is.

I could see some white where red should be on MM. The left edge of the bandolier(?) and on the right side of the buckle. Couldn't see anything wrong with GL or SG. You are being way too picky if nobody else sees what you see, and if this is the sort of complaint you've had before, good luck getting replacement parts in the future when something is really off... Like "tractor" being MISSPELLED as "tracor" on the UCS Slave I sticker. TLG makes millions of minifigs every year. If you were doing QA for TLG, you would be sending back more than half. There are acceptable tolerances in manufacturing, and complaining about anything within those tolerances is not going to get you anywhere.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I love that set, LN! So much complaining about spoilers, but also so much focus on finding stuff out long before the general public does... Don't want spoilers? Get off the internet until the movie comes out and then hide in a cave. There WILL be stuff all over the place, and it's only going to get harder to avoid the closer we get to the movie's release. -

The first LEGO anything my daughter built was the R2D2 minifigure when she was 3-1/2. -
Does TLG filter negative reviews on S@H?
rollermonkey replied to jodawill's topic in General LEGO Discussion
When they say "don't discuss info that changes, such as price" I interpret that to mean don't include the price itself ($8, €10, £29.99, etc) in the review, as that number may change and thus become outdated, plus it varies from location to location. Discussing value for price paid, particularly related to a recent change, should still be fair to address. -
Um... Is it congress or a library or both? From your title, I was expecting a building from Washington DC. :)

Opened this one last night. This was actually my first Micro-manager and first robo-skeleton, which is weird, considering that I have 8 other TLM sets. That said, I'm a little underwhelmed with this. Maybe if I'd gotten a set with a MM before, I'd have been better prepared for what was in there. I'm glad to get Angry Kitty and Batman, but it's really not a very impressive set otherwise.

So... I was moving some stuff around and I dropped the ITT about 4 feet, and it broke into about 50 pieces. Not very sturdy, that model is.

Does TLG filter negative reviews on S@H?
rollermonkey replied to jodawill's topic in General LEGO Discussion
A 60% increase in price is something to justifiably complain about... If TLG responded to him with a justification for the increase and the deletion, then maybe. The catch is that if you set up a place for people to provide reviews and feedback, then delete the ones you don't like, they might as well write their own fake reviews. It's dishonest. If TLG hadn't increased the price of baseplates in say 10 years, and explained that's why the price went up a lot, fine, that's fair. But to delete a fair complaint without response isn't good customer relations. -

I hope you're wrong... I checked the Bluetooth website for comparability before I pledged for my SBricks, and it said that an iPad2 is compatible with BLE. Or was it the iPhone 4S? That's my other option...- 771 replies

Yeah, but people would complain even more if that was $25.- 14 replies

Anyone try throwing a couple XL motors under their Arctic Truck yet? I'm kind of doubtful the servo motor is powerful enough to be used for the steering.

Certainly not surprised by the lack of TFA merchandise at the winter toy fairs. Disney probably wants one more marketing cycle to emphasize Rebels, simply because the TFA stuff will sell itself come next Winter. -
You gotta know it's shady when they don't use the right name for Lego Ideas in the "partnership" announcement.

I have to spread out my builds.... Can't do them all at once, or I'll have nothing to do for a month. I was so tempted to grab this one today. :)

LEGO 21022 Lincoln Memorial - now in stores + review
rollermonkey replied to henrysunset's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Done. Yeah. It's about as poor a build experience as I expected. It's even smaller than I thought it would be, too. This will go in the closet with Sungnyemun Gate as the second Architecture set that doesn't get displayed. -
Wow! That helmet looks fantastic! TLG, if you're paying attention, take note, and see what people do when you don't give them what they ask for! :P

Really? I got the Slave I and 2 or 3 promos. Then I put that in the car and had lunch. When I went back to get the other things I had been considering, I got the promos again.

Why isn't this month's giveaway one of the options?

What is your favorite miniature accessory?
rollermonkey replied to bitbang's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Um, there are no military sets... I got my first one from Green Grocer, where it's used as part of a lamp fixture. It has been made in three colors and has been included in 38 sets ranging from Harry Potter to Pirates. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
rollermonkey replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I'll say this: TLG certainly seems to have learned from the mistake of underproducing the Tumbler... My store had both of these and most of the other new releases in huge quantities, many held at the registers in shipping cartons instead of being placed on shelves. Tumblers were gone less than 30 seconds after the doors opened, and I got Slave I more than 2 hours after opening, and DOs were still being passed out frequently, too. -

I think they're just fine. I also don't have 100s of older OT style, and am not nearly as nitpicky as many SW fans are. Pick it up and decide. It's not so expensive, and you're the only one who can decide for yourself.
