  1. I like it, great use of some interesting parts like the vine and green 'hose', but what is Santa's sack supposed to represent?
  2. It's a Gozanti-class cruiser. This version has been seen in episodes 1, 4, 6, and 9 of season 1. There were also appearances in TPM, AotC and many TCW episodes, but they had some differences to what we're getting now. I guess I can sort of see a space-shuttle shape, but it doesn't bother me. It's plenty different that nobody would confuse the two.
  3. That Imperial Assault Carrier, wait for it... Is a Rebels set. And it looks fantastic. :)
  4. There's a BATTERY BOX in there somewhere?
  5. ANH came out in 1977. The fact that we get ANY sets at all from a movie that far back is staggering. I mean, when was the last time you saw NEW toys from Pete's Dragon, The Rescuers (original) or Herbie (goes to Monte Carlo)? Those all came out that year, too. I take what we get and am happy for it. I also watch Rebels with my 5 year old... And the OT, too.
  6. You are overreacting. I've talked about this before, with numbers and statistics, etc. Star Wars, from about day two, has always been for kids. Even the original trilogy. The amount of money made from the toys is staggering. It's more than the GDP of some countries. You say that you like TCW better? Well, don't forget, that started out pretty weak, too. Rebels is a CURRENT Star Wars property, and thus will get the lion's share of the toy production across all manufacturers. Your nostalgia for whichever generation of SW properties is irrelevant. I'm old enough that I saw SW in the theater during the original release as a kid, so I get the desire for stuff from those movies, but to make NEW Star Wars fans, toys lines from the current shows or movies must be at the forefront. Us 1st or even 2nd-gen SW fans won't be here forever, but if they keep making films and shows in-universe, there will be fans long after we're gone.
  7. Actually, this one is clearer and has no watermark. Looks like it's somewhere on the order of 52-55 studs long... No, don't be sorry. You did post something different. Someone was too hasty to compare and realize it.
  8. Probably should ask this in the Technic forum... You'll probably get more responses from that bart of the board, they love this kind of thing.
  9. Nobody's going to put you in jail. TLG designers aren't allowed to do certain things in sets that we can in MOCs or general building. I think the only example I know of is that a plate can be connected edge-wise between a row of studs... A 90-degree angle, without an approved SNOT brick, but it would be an "illegal" technique for a Master Builder to use. I'm sure there's more, I just don't sweat it.
  10. That more than confirms white, angled panels... It adds three more for five in the set! I can't tell, do you think the rudder actually work, too?
  11. My bad... All these videos are starting to look the same.
  12. Like IKEA instructions, LEGO instructions are universal and require no translation. :) Can you take and post a picture? If you don't usually build with Technic, it can sometimes be easy to put pins in the wrong holes... But if you post pictures, we can help troubleshoot, I don't remember having any issues with the forward crane in my Sandcrawler.
  13. Is the motorcycle finally out now? NVM, I just looked, the motorcycle still isn't available in the US yet, either.
  14. Wrong thread, guys... Unless I missed the part where the crane cab tips?
  15. ...and this Emporer's Arrival set comes with... 1000 Stormtroopers, plus various offers and specialty troops? Less than that and people will bemoan the inaccuracy and insufficient number of figures.
  16. That engine definitely continues under the battery box... But how far?
  17. I would guess that 3PO is just using a standard Santa torso from an old set as a place holder, and we'll get a new torso/ new print in the actual release... Luke having the wrong color lightsaber for the scene is so easily fixed, I don't even know why anyone would complain about it. ...and Imperial Guards are dudes in voluminous red cloaks... Would you prefer they use the slope block used for skirts? It would certainly be more accurate... Half the reason why pictures aren't allowed at the toy fair is that the sets are usually still in preliminary form, and they don't want to hear complaints about non-final product.
  18. I think a bulldozer would look much better with nice, big rams for lifting the blade...
  19. Pretty sure that the scale of LEGO's engine blocks is too large to ALWAYS recreate engine blocks with the correct number of cylinders in the available space... Or do people gripe as much about the one-cylinder engines on the motorcycles, too?
  20. No love for Teela?
  21. I find it intriguing that the new person feels that these construction figures are most like Hero Factory... If they are oversized polybags, that doesn't bother me either way... Because I won't get them either way.
  22. I think you just found the picture the designer used to model the front of the cab on this set. No matter if you think it ugly or not, you can't say it isn't accurate.
  23. Actually, it is. It was mentioned a few times that some people were getting taken to a closed viewing of the sets from Ep. VII. Anywho. What I came to ask is this: The Gozanti-class cruiser is supposedly able to carry 4 TIE fighters, or two AT-DP, right? And every indication is that the set will come with 4 small-scale TIE fighters that will connect to the bottom as seen on Rebels... What to you think the odds are that the AT-DP polybag giveaway set is the right scale to be carried underneath, as well? Because that would be awesome, and great synergy. :)
