  1. It varies widely depending on demand, and how many people got back-ordered in front of you in your country or region. The US website says 30 days...
  2. Well... Early "confidential" prelim photos of 2H 2015 Technic sets are starting to leak... It is possible that we might actually get some more news on the 2H Star Wars sets even before the toy fairs start. Although I'm guessing that security will remain tight on the Ep. VII sets for a while yet.
  3. Seriously? Wow! OK then, I guess the only challenge is to make it light enough not to sag, then.
  4. I haven't made the stand yet, but looking at the instructions, it looks like a quick swap between the hinges and the grille pieces would make it the other way if you'd prefer it on the side.
  5. I am amazed at his ability to create seemingly accurate renditions from what are apparently poor quality images. The guy must have a million pieces at his disposal. Here's your subtle hint: STOP ASKING FOR IT, on the board.
  6. I think you'd have to be careful, though. Any vehicle big enough to use 4 of these might be heavy enough to break the snap connection between links. ...and a flat tire would be devastating.
  7. Big, perhaps, but as blocky as Eames is, it wouldn't require very many non-standard pieces, if any. If I saw that a set was nothing but brick and plate stacking, I'd be pretty upset. I know Eames was rumored to have been a serious candidate for a set about two years ago, but I really, really hope they do something more interesting.
  8. I have been building this slowly, to savor the experience. It's a fantastic build, and I just finished bag 11 last night... Although there is a tiny bit of movement of the side I just made, I don't understand how people were complaining about bits falling off. I agree, with DarthBrickus, it's super-sturdy, I can pick it up by the tail and swoosh it. :) ...It's huge though, so I have to be careful not to hit anything with it.
  9. More recently, 42025 cargo plane to hovercraft is an interesting leap.
  10. A lot of people forget that the OT was rated G in a lot of countries. Even where it was PG, including the US, there was plenty of marketing towards kids. It's always been as much for kids as it has been for adults, and the age range of OT fans really backs that up. So, if you don't like TCW and Rebels because 'they're too childish' you might be missing the point. With the exception of some pretty pointless political drivel in the PT, it has all been somewhat childish. Hence the fact that @ 12 BILLION dollars has been made from the sales of SW toys out of the 27 Billion dollars including all box office, dvds, books, video games, etc. That's more than 44% of the total franchise revenue. Rebels and TCW are targeted to the exact same market as everything else. Maybe it's you that have outgrown the stories.
  11. After going back way too many pages, I just put these two items together and realized how different this is from what we usually get! A BIG BLUE CRANE?
  12. It really is pretty poor behavior from both sides: those bragging/teasing about the picture(s) and those who won't stop begging to get them. That said, sounds like we either have a great new set, or a great new parts pack on the way. ...and I'm pretty happy we're not getting so much yellow or red this year. It will be nice to be able to do thing in different colors.
  13. Who got two last year? UN Building, Eiffel Tower, Marina Bay Sands and Architecture Studio were all 2014 releases in most applicable regions. Also: Did anyone notice that first prize had a value of $129.97, but second place has a value of $159.99? When has second place ever gotten a more valuable prize than the winner?
  14. I have a bad feeling it could be a while before we hear of correctly spelled stickers. I almost expect they'll do a new run of a smaller sheet with just the corrected sicker.
  15. Every time I see that üfchen has posted a new topic, I know that I am about to see something I would never have imagined on my own, and often, wouldn't have believed possible.
  16. I'm sorry. To me, this "Willrow Hood" character represents the worst of SW fanaticism. I hope we DON'T get him, it would be a complete waste. The one HJR Holland made up there is plenty good enough. How many more days to Nuremberg? Clearly we're starving for new information.
  17. Yep. That seems worthy of the UCS moniker.
  18. My local LEGO store had them on January 1st.
  19. Anybody get word from TLG on whether or not they are going to make a replacement/corrected sticker for the plaque yet? I mean a spelling error should get a correction, right?
  20. I usually save them quite a while... This past summer, I got the AT-AT and the Construction Crew (42023) for free on August 1 and had some left over. Just before xmas I took $60 off the price of the big Technic Volvo loader. I mostly buy all of the largest sets, always on double point days, and they add up really fast when you get $250 and $300 sets during those windows. I'll probably go back to hoarding them a while now.
  21. I figured that each bag containing 1x1 tiles or plates had one extra of each type contained, and each bag with 2L or 1/2 pins contained one extra of each type contained... Also: small, tan bevel gears, 2L axles, bushings and 1x1 cheese slopes. Because that's almost exactly what every single set I've bought since coming out of the dark ages has contained for extra pieces.
  22. Inflation in the US has been pretty steady at around 2% for several years.
  23. I just saw this article today. (link at the end of the post) Somebody made new astronaut minifigs got them brought to the ISS. Not the first time LEGO have been in space, but still pretty cool nonetheless. http://toybox.io9.co...307/ rtgonzalez
  24. I just opened mine and started building... Is it just my copy, or is the color reproduction in this instruction particularly awful? I was trying to figure out where the dark bley 6x8 frames were when I flipped ahead and realized that they were the light bley ones I'd passed over three times I needed. I blame the choice of a dark grey background throughout the book.
