BrickLinking (another) 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon
rollermonkey replied to Lobot's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I placed a couple orders yesterday. Once they arrive, I'll be at 263/266 lots, missing only two of the hinges and the dark red 2x2 tiles. (over $100 if I get them all new) Started construction, finally. I'm waiting for the DBG jumpers from BNP for steps 17 and 42, but apart from that, I got through step 28 before going to before 46 tonight, but I'm about to be stuck, as I don't have 1x10 LBG bricks or 2x3 LBG wedges to start the engine room area. The only mods I'm doing for now are (of course) related to the radar and the engines. The radar is being replaced by ScottishDave's excellent TFA/new rectangular dish mod. In place of the rigging, (which I always thought looked wrong anyways,) I'm using the 33L LBG tubing from the bow rail of the large Friends boat.- 290 replies

25 lots from Bricklink for my 10179... Just 3 more lots to go, but it's going to be over $100 US, so it'll be a few weeks.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
^Probably a replacement for the Endor playset? I didn't see many bricks in the wampa cave shot, just it, Luke, the lightsaber, then Han on the tauntaun. Not really a lot of parts in use there to take away from the base itself. Oh, and if there's going to be a new UCS Millennium Falcon, my money is on a release with the just announced 2nd standalone film, to be focused on Han Solo's backstory. ...and don't even TRY and complain about spoilers, because the future existence of a movie isn't spoiling anything when we know so much about the character's backstory already! -
...and the whereabouts of AC-130U airframes at any times is classified, on the ground or in the air. Found that out when I was told that I wasn't seeing what was right in front of my face. :)

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Why on earth is there a clutch gear on the hangar bay door? No reason for that without power functions... More importantly, would they actually put a wampa AND a tauntaun in the same set? Instant buy if so. -

It works better with the older 6.6L bar. The ring is thinner (shorter?) which gives just enough room to fit the extra hand in there.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I would like to point out that the article says that there will not be any trailer or clips from TFA in FRIDAY's presentation, and that the next trailer won't be until Fall... That doesn't mean there can't be any non-trailer video on Thursday, Saturday or Sunday... I don't trust JJ Abrams even a little bit that there is zero potential for a 3rd teaser this week: Teaser ≠Trailer -
Down to 28 lots to go when the orders en route arrive. :) Sadly, I'll be able to order some in August, but not September. :/ Worse, I just did a complete inventory, and after getting 14 of them, I either misplaced or accidentally thought I received/had 38 of the 1x10 LBG plates, and of course they are used very early in the build.

Seriously. Can we get our hands on the rest of the 1H2015 sets before we think about next year?

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wednesday, 6PM exhibit hall opens. If the rumors are true, a whole lot of details about certain things will become very widely distributed. Even if the LEGO reveals aren't until Friday/Saturday, the news is going to have all kinds of spoilery goodness. Better roll that rock in tighter against the mouth of your cave if you don't want to know anything at all. The convention is long enough that they could reveal a set or two a day if they wanted to, and save the big ones for last, or for D23. I have a feeling that this year's D23 is going to be VERY focused on all things Star Wars. -

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
While I can't begin to understand why people who wish to know absolutely NOTHING about the year's biggest movie can't stay out of a topic which is discussing rumors and pictures of LEGO sets based on that movie, in 3 days, the exhibition hall doors open at San Diego Comic Con, where SWTFA is known to have an absolutely enormous presence, including at least one new set reveal. Do you think they'd save the rest of the sets to be revealed at D23 on August 14th-16th? That'd be getting pretty close to the street date of Sept 4th... -
LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors

I suspect there's some wishful thinking clouding the force. The future, always in motion it is. Difficult to tell. No way we're getting three principal characters in Rey's Speeder. Rey, BB-8, if there's a 3rd, it will be someone/something from the sand planet, Maz maybe. First Order Snowspeeder: Pilot, Snowtrooper, +1... Maybe Kylo Ren. First Order TIE: either what you said, or substitute a FirstOrder astromech for one (or both) of the troopers. X-wing: Poe, astromech, Leia. (Echoing the previous Y-wing figs) First Order Transport: Phasma, 3xStormtroopers, 1xFinntrooper, Pilot Command Shuttle: Kylo Ren, 2x Flametroopers, Pilot, First Order officer Falcon: Han, Chewie, Rey, Finn, BB-8, Threepio, 1xStormtrooper, plus one minor character like an Alliance officer or trooper -
[MOC] Santa Maria della Salute, Venice - Architecture Scale
rollermonkey replied to Rolli's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yup, that's the one I was thinking... They are almost in line with one another and located at the endpoint of adjacent sections... although pretty much everything in Venezia is on an island of various size. Santa Maria does actually have a small canal separating it from the south bank of the Grand Canal. -

Getting Shipping Boned on BrickLink
rollermonkey replied to S_Bartfast's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Heh, heh. Makes me chuckle a bit that I didn't even need to say a name. :) -
Thanks for the review, Jim. The nervous nelly in me worries that putting all the V2 pneumatics into one bag is going to pose a problem for some unlucky folks... Way too easy to steal what, for many people, is the biggest selling point of the set.

Placed an order last night that will get me under 40 lots to go. I also have some plates inbound that I needed to get started. I should be able to build the entire frame as soon as they arrive. <very excited Out of the lots left, the one I'm looking forward to the least is the stupid levers. :/- 290 replies
