[MOC] EpisodeVII - Apoca AT-AT on Jakku
rollermonkey replied to markus1984's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I thought it was some sort of midi- or micro- scale at first, then I saw it was minifig-scale and had to look again. Very impressive! Tha last pic in the original post really looks like the artwork. Bravo.- 70 replies

BrickLinking (another) 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon
rollermonkey replied to Lobot's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm pretty mad right now... An 60-Euro order towards making my 10179 has gone missing in shipment, last spotted at the Flushing, NY / JFK sort facility. The LBG 1x12 and 1x16 bricks, L and R 6X12 wedge plates and 6x8 plates, the hoses and several more.- 290 replies

About 10 seconds after the credits are done rolling on opening day for TFA, The House of Mouse will direct its marketing machine towards Rogue One full force...

Very cool... Needs a larger, more reliable system leading to the sensor. I mean if you are feeding individual skittles one at a time into the hopper, unless you were blind, you could drop them into the separate cups, yes? Did I see it accidentally send a strawberry one into the unsorted/purple cup? Lastly, I had guessed this was the same person who made the paper airplane maker and egg cracker machines... I guess he's not the only one thinking so far outside the box. :D

How do you build your Lego sets?
rollermonkey replied to Wonderpants's topic in General LEGO Discussion
When I came out of the dark ages, the giant R2D2 was the first set I'd ever seen with numbered bags, and I enjoyed the novelty of it. I was starting to find numbered bags silly when I bought Tower Bridge... And cursed TLG for three back-breaking days of building because it doesn't have them. I think numbered bags are desirable in larger sets, say 1000 pieces and larger, but the trend of smaller and smaller sets down to below 300 pieces is unnecessary. As to how I build, I open the bags in a set or a number, but don't tip them out. I find that the occasional ten-minute search for that one piece still occurs plenty enough for me. I just don't have time to spend hours on end building a set, and after too long, it actually gets painful for me and I have to stop. Normally the completion of a number is within that threshold even on the largest sets. -
Not all in one bag, but the instructions were in a second bag, also numbered 1.

My attempt at a 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon!
rollermonkey replied to EddScott's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've been slowly getting parts to do this myself... On hand, I have 162 of 266 lots with two more small orders inbound. Enjoy! -
I'd say that you've answered your own question then. :/
-
Not sure why you think the Creator Mixer is rubbish, particularly if you don't have it... and I'm sure that with the PF and lighting, your much, much larger version would cost far more. It's nice to see amusement rides, and yours looks very nice. I would like to see how you fold it down, though.
-
I would like to see a comparison shot of this and the previous incarnation(s), if anyone has them all.
-
Not my MOC, you copied the wrong post. :)

Instructions are in a bag numbered 1? That's new. ...and this is the weirdest parts selection. So many different colors on the inside for no reason whatsoever.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Fine by me. I think it'd make a GREAT parts pack for SW MOCs. But I like the ship just fine, so I'd get more than one to part one out. It's also FAR smaller than an ISD... So the scale isn't as far off as those are. -

Why am I not surprised at all the complaining about sets people can't even buy yet? -
Minidoll heads and minifig hats
rollermonkey replied to rollermonkey's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Those minidolls have far less clutch power on the necks than on regular minifigs... If I can't pull it out with pliers, I don't believe I could get enough clutch power from the neck to overcome the binding/clutch power between the hat and head.- 13 replies

Minidoll heads and minifig hats
rollermonkey replied to rollermonkey's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Starting to sound like one or the other isn't within tolerances, causing them to bind up. I'll ask customer services, see if they have any suggestions. Sent this: We'll see how that goes.- 13 replies

(2015) May The 4th Be With You Offers - Discussion thread!
rollermonkey replied to Lobot's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've got a bunch of Clone Lieutenants and a couple Hoth Han Solos. If orders are placed at different times, to the extent that they will ship different days, they drop the fig in both. I didn't do it on purpose, it just worked out that way. -
Minidoll heads and minifig hats
rollermonkey replied to rollermonkey's topic in General LEGO Discussion
This particular hat doesn't leave much space on the sides of the head... it's not even enough that the sides are parallel yet. <Very frustrated at this point.- 13 replies

Hey there, someone suggested I ask you for help on an issue: My daughter put the minifig princess hat/hair from the CMF on a Jasmine minidoll head, and we can't get the two apart. I've tried trying to carefully use pliers and small screwdrivers with no luck. Any other suggestions?

Minidoll heads and minifig hats
rollermonkey replied to rollermonkey's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thank you, I will. I suspect she just has a minor flaw in the parts that is causing the issue. I don't have needlenose small enough to grab inside the neck hole, so they are still attached.- 13 replies

Real question is do we see Rebels characters show up in Rogue One?

[MOC] X-wing
rollermonkey replied to Jeroen Ottens's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The s-foils and landing gear are awesome, but I'm sure the rest took just as much thought and effort. Fantastic! (although I, too would like to see a little bit more panelling used to make the appearance nicer) -

I guess I'll be buying the last two microfighters after all, just to qualify for the Ep. V and VI posters.
