Thanks! Thanks! I actually had to remove a section of the ship in order to get it to rest like on the angle I wanted. Very much like it crashed and lost that panel in the process! Thanks! I actually ran out of grey slope pieces on that! I had hoped to lead up to the ship like that, so I'm glad it worked! I added another pic to the spoiler, and there's one more on my flickr (link in my signature), but unfortunately I did not take many pics from other angles. I might revisit the ship at some point though, if I don't immediately dismantle it. Maybe I'll de-derelict it! Thanks! I was aiming for a very mild biomechanical feel, and it's very very loosely inspiref by Giger. I wanted it to appear skeletal in a way. Thanks! I'm glad so many people like the rockwork too! I would have done more, but pieces constrained me more than time on that. Thanks! We'll I was looking for a tech specialists, and wouldn't you know, the next person who signs up is a robotics expert who built on F09! I couldn't pass that up! It also gave me a chance to characterize Dr. Long as the obstructive bureaucratic hardass she is. "There's always a bigger fish..." thanks! I was inspired by the anomalocaris, and a lobster, but I agree with the suggestion that I may have channeled the ancient might of a decrepit draconic creature while building it. I have a thing for extinct sea creatures, though... high praise coming from you! Did you catch my reference to your build? Thanks! Hah! I saw the opportunity and I seized it! I wanted to provide a sense of continuity from Kodan's scene to mine, and establish Dr. Martenz. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Wow, Sal, I have to say, you never fail to impress me with your builds, or make me laugh at your Cave Johnson -esque approach to the scientific method. Also, seriously good job with all those little details! I see you've picked up many trophies and the Kawashita drone and so many other things! You're like the Easter egg king! great job! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Wonderfull! Mammoth indeed! This husky box for carrying modular pods is just so great! Wonderful modules, wonderful ship! I love the greebles particularly! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Wow! Very ominous setting! I got a "Jaba's palace" vibe from the exterior, and the interior is interesting indeed... what did they discuss!? Only complaint would be the walker legs, as Zeph mentioned. Great build! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Thanks! I've been working on that sucker for a while now. It features every single dark red piece I have, so, that's one reason I did not join Kawashita. My character is just following corporate orders! They wanted a sample of the super predator in-host. Dr. Long is obliged to follow all such orders on penalty of full forfeiture of pay.... not that she needs such incentive. She's more of an Ash than a Ripley. Thanks! Thanks! The landscape was mostly to frame the ship (and it ended up using up all of my dark grey slopes regardless of the BURPs. ) Oh no, I wouldn't Red Shirt you, you're plot shielded! Glad to see a tech specialists among all these wet scientists! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Great build! Love the faces! The gold inclusions on the rocks are great, and I love the back/bottom lit Lava! Sneaky strategy getting those spy outfits! I gotta agree. Mantis is a great combination of serious commandos and "for the lolz" space orcs! Kinda what I imagine Blacktron to be! Yes. I can confirm, as head Scientist, that we've been training our spies to not puke at the notion of eating disgusting maggots. In fact, that is the reason we attempted to steal some. We need to culture those maggots, obviously as our own food is vacu-packed and completely sterile, with the exception of our "pick-a-flavour!" Probiotic "smooties" clearly a Kawashita false flag op. Clearly. Octan is the "Nice" Corporation, after all. ~Dr. Long

Punk rock future techno minifig suggestions wanted
Dannylonglegs replied to PaddyBricksplitter's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Exotic force had a myriad of crazy hair pieces. It was obviously anime inspired. They even have a crazy jagged purple hair piece that I personally own. Very punk. Also the old Insectoids theme has some nice "cyberpunk" torsos (and the helmets are cool too) ~Insectoid Aristocrat -
Location: F09 Tags: Science, Exploration, Spying, Spaceship //"Log date 338, This is Dr. Danielle Long, reporting from the Axle. We left Xerillian today. Glad to be off that irritating desert planet. After filling the appropriate casualty report and seeking medical attention to my surviving Octancorp brand trooper, to whom I've bestowed the name Trooper 2, I was able to obtain several samples of the ubiquitous arachnoid creatures endemic to the planet. They are being analyzed as I speak in O.C.S. Axle's pristine labs. Naturally all paperwork related to such has already been filed. As head Scientist aboard the OCS Axle, and highest ranking Scientist in Octan's Andromeda branch, I ensure that all paperwork is flawless. Next target is F09. Dr. Long signing off."// //"Log date 339, This is Dr. Danielle Long. The following report is encrypted. Security clearance level: TOP SECRET. Dr. Long Signing off."// //"Log date 340, This is Dr. Danielle Long. The following report is encrypted. Security clearance level: TOP SECRET. Dr. Long Signing off."// Aboard the O.C.S. Axle, in Orbit of F09 Mr. O'Reilly: "You know, this was supposed to be my week off." Dr. Long: "Vacation requests may be denied on late or no notice should...." Mr. O'Reilly: "I know the regulations." Dr. Long: "Right... Of course. So. The team has been assembled. I still need one more crew member though... I'm not willing to risk any of my own tech specialists from the Axle on this. They're all doing Octan's good work, and I cannot spare one. I'm going to visit an old friend..." Later, aboard Dr. Martenz's research vessel on F09 Dr. Martenz: "Danielle, It's been too long. I trust you are here to inspect my pathogen research? I believe some of these specimens may be very promising to Biomass collection from this planet!" Dr. Long: "That is not why I am here today, Dr. Martenz." Dr. Martenz: "You did arrive before I expected you to... What can I do for you?" Dr. Long: "I need one of your new hirees for a top secret mission. According to his file, he is a robotics and technology expert. A certain Kodan Black." Dr. Martenz: "What?! Great Scott, Danielle! I'm hardly running with a skeleton crew here! There's so much to be done, and I have such little staff! I cannot afford to go without a single on! Not even a robotics specialist! Let me at least have an ensign from the Axle to carry out his duties in the interim?" Dr. Long: "This is not a negotiation, Dr. I will assess your shortage of staff on my routine inspection scheduled for two business days from today. Until then, I will hear nothing further on the subject. Now, would you kindly direct this Kodan to my office." Dr. Martenz: "...Yes, Dr. Long." Location undisclosed. Surface of F09. //"Log date 341, This is Dr. Danielle Long. The following report is encrypted. Security clearance level: TOP SECRET. Dr. Long Signing off for now."// Kodan: "Hey! Look what I found!" Dr. Long: "Excellent. I think we all know what to do with that. We've been looking for one of those for so long now. Excellent work. You were certainly the right pick for this job." //"Status update: Tech retrieval success. Files on the genetic modification process have been procured. And, of course, Trooper 2 generously unwittingly volunteered to play host to a sample of the Kawashita super predator's genetic material. He will be analyzed in a Maximum security lab aboard the O.C.S. Axle, as was corporate's order. Dr. Long out."// This is the largest hollow anything I have ever built. I was planning this for a few weeks. Got a bit rushed at the end, but I think it turned out well. I just regret not getting better pictures. More pictures on my flickr. Never had chance to set Display Name?
Dannylonglegs replied to Prairie's topic in Forum Information and Help
Yup. I made the same mistake originally and had my display name capitalized. I just asked a Mod to change it to a capital for me. ~Insectoid Aristocrat -
Oooh! That's a gorgeous MoC! I love the colour combos there, and the use of the flag piece, and the hands in the grill on the wings! Very aggressive looking ship! It has something of a scorpion feel to it! You should build sci-fi themed mocs more often! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

I will be filing a complaint to the Revelry and Merriment branch of the Human Resources department about all this rowdy partying. It is not Tacos and Tequila Tuesday. And all over the spreadsheets too. Ugh. ~Dr. Long

Lovely story! You really captured the bureaucratic nightmare I imagine Octancorp to be under the surface with the frustrating plight of your character! You containment ship's nice too! Don't let those monkeys out! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

What Bob said, but we could also discuss it in the Octan private message board or the Octan public meeting room, or the discussion thread if you like. I personally love the idea of a consistent feel for planets, which is why I told all of Octan about my "scorpion" build last week. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Sure, you can certainly build on Farmolis. A spaceship is awesome! A more strategic location than Homeworld would be nice if that's fine with you. And since it's a ship, you can always feature both and set the official location as the non-Farmolis planet you choose! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

//"I, Dr. Danielle Long, graciously accept the book. I'll admit, I've been keen to read it. So many fascinating strategems with which to exploit all these worlds. As a Scientist, I am an avid learner, and shall take to heart every lesson therein. Hail Octan, and Lord Business. Dr. Long out. "// ~Dr. Long
