  1. After playing the demo for Mass Effect: Andromeda, I did a quick build of the new shuttle. It has no interiors, maybe I'll get around to work on it sometime.
  2. Greater Direstan B08 – Nothing suspicious Junali 3815 After a quick scan of the surface below, Narbilu decided to do a solo survey of the planet. As it seems the large plains of grass attracts no danger. For miles and miles Narbilu shears through high grasses on his newly obtained speeder bike, leaving a trail that has the characteristics of a grain circle. Over ten miles he flies in a straight line, before treasure is found. A strange field of flowers, growing awesomnium. This is something our botanists and scientists should look at. If this is reproducible, this would be a goldmine. Instead of searching the galaxy, we could just grow our resources. Narbilu circles the area placing beacons for the extractors and filing photographic scans of the surroundings, so the planet is mapped and stored in our database. Greater Direstan seems harmless and save for Kawashita to dominate without any trouble.
  3. :: The Traig Treaty :: Junali 3815 In recent events on Traig I spoke to a society, calling themselves the Tron. Their marking had a resemblance to something I encountered in history books, but I can’t really recollect in what matter. Fey and Brazer are looking into that. Kawashita acknowledged that I am doing a pretty good job so far, so they freed me of my parol and given me extra authority. Basically meaning I can decide things for myself. Together with the Tron I fabricated a plan how to taunt the other two corporations speed in dominating Andromeda. Tron is part of an alliance called ALIEN, Alliance of the Liberated & Independent Entrepreneurial Nations. We are at the verge of a collaboration with this alliance, but they have some demands. These demands are of no concern of other members, maybe even a bit dangerous. For the sake of Kawashita I comply and agree to be escorted to Arium Major (F10). They supplied me with a spy outfit so the jumps are made easier. What my fate there will be is still a bit cloudy. I grab a small vessel, which was just assigned to The Collision. When I exited the docking bay a small squadron of four disc-like spacecrafts surrounded me and set course. We flew past a small dozen of planets before we entered the Arium Major subspace. My radio started to rattle. I expected to get instructions of one of the four spacecrafts, but instead the voice of Koro whispered in my com. He will report our conversation separately. In the middle of an asteroid belt in the outer orbit of Arium Major we halted. Now the leader of the pact contacted me just to tell me that we will hide in the astroid belt to conduct scans of Octan activity. We still float undetected between the large rocks circling around the planet as a lost moon, mapping the whole planet trying to find a save spot to land. .. end transmission ..
  4. :: The Traig Society :: Junali 3815 Hovering over the mountains of Traig, a strange anomaly triggered the scanners. It seems that there is some sort of life on Traig, and it appears they are intelligent enough to use metals and electronics. Something worth exploring. Fey drops the ship to the hard rock soil and Narbilu exits the vehicle in his newly obtained walker. Only a few clicks north before he encounters some sort of entrance. Narbilu was already spotted. A few manlike spacesuited figures guide him to their leader. Kawashita are the first visitors they could actually speak to in over a millennium. The content of the discussion won't be reported in this log, it seems to be secret and board members eyes only. What will happen and what is discussed???
  5. :: Technology Prospecting :: After our visit to Crentium together with the Terrestrians, they offered me to teach us the basics of prospecting for a small fee. I consulted with the board and we agreed on a payment in resources. 1800 ounches of awesomnium, 700 gallons of water and 500 ounches of biomass. A large hauler brought the payment to a moving spacestation of the Terrestrial, where they took me also. The leader took me to a research facility where they hooked me up to a device. When the lights started to blink and a buzzing sound filled the helmet on my head, my brain started to tingle. Only minutes later I stepped out of the chair. They were able to tap the knowledge directly into my memory. Back in my quarters I wrote the whole technology onto my pad and sent it to the Kawashita Group library and academy.
  6. Maian 3815 Serium B09 - deeper grounds After a thorough search of the shallow waters of Serium, myself and Fey swapped our landing vehicle for a more suitable vessel to travel the greater oceans. We searched the coastline of the small sandbanks, before taking our ship to deeper grounds. We were no three minutes out, when our scanners went beserk. I suited up and went overboard, when no live was spotted in a miles radious. The bottom was still not far from the waves, so I could explore the surface with the ship within handsrange. I swam south, Fey following my lead on the water, until I froze. I was face to face what seemed to be a statue. Serium once had, or still has, some form of civilazed species. Hopefully not the size and jaws the statue shows. They also valued awesomnium, because this statue was placed right before a large vain, scaring off anyone trying to get near the crater. Fey reported still no living creatures near, so we extracted some of the awesomnium to test its purity. After confirmation, I placed a beacon so the miners could track the vain. Another successful mission. Serium proves very resourceful for Kawashita Group.
  7. Location: G10 - Onix Tag: Building, Civil = = = = = = = = = In between missions, Alexander Vandangant's squad always find a moment to relax in a bar, be it on planets, space stations or like this time on a ship in flight over Onix. = = = = = = = = = Quick build of a friday evening. Enjoy!
  8. First of all, sorry for my absence. It has been very busy. I collected my thoughts and decided something, you can read in the following thread: Where is Narbilu Godspeed in Andromeda, I hope Kawashita manages to outsmart the other two.
  9. Prequal: A Leader Lost - Part 4 I climbed down the cliff with all I had, leaving the ridge with the closed portal behind me. Before descending I left a homing beacon, but it still seems all electronics malfunctions here. It was a rough climb down, being used to using jetpacks. But the soft soil containing grasses, mud and pebbles reminded me of the Salvaged Gardens back home. This place, this planet has it all. All the beauty of the stories my grandfather told me home was like back in the days. I shuffled my feet around, just being able to stop myself from taking off my boots to feel it with my bare feet. I looked up, everywhere towering trees with green leafs and pine blocked the burning midsummer sun from reaching the moss on the open spot I sat down to rest. After an hour, my head was clear again, my hunger was appeased and I was ready to investigate the surrounding area. Rations were getting scarce, so the main goal for today was to find food of some sort. But without my com-pad I was unable to scan or identify what I would find. Every bite would be a gamble. With sharp eyes my head glanced between and past the dense foliage, scanning for any form of life, food, but foremost; residences. Because where is folk, there is shelter and food. Probably some kind of functional weaponry also, which could come in handy in questionable situations. I was in luck. Something that looks like a building, just ahead. I circled the building from a distance for three times, before I stepped out of cover towards it. Up close, the building looks decayed. It is decayed, abandoned. The technique used to construct this seems outdated. Layers of bricks, uneven and stacked together with some kind of cement in between. Very old school, almost medieval. The door was hanging half broken down in its hinges, so entry was a piece of cake. Inside, I was surprised how spacious it was. One large room, some wooden furniture, stone floor and small stuff scattered all around on the floor. No light switch, not even a bulb to switch on. A small window in the roof provided me with a single beam of sunlight, casting large shadows on the floor. Phase one accomplished, a roof over my head. In a large trunk I found some rags, strings and a small blade. Could come in handy. The rags seemed to be of a fine quality, so I changed clothes in the hope that I would blend in more easily when I engaged the locals of this planet. The hood on the rags could cover most of my face when necessary. Now for the most important step, finding food. From the floor I grabbed a leather water flask, which I stuffed in my pouch. Nothing more of importance was scattered around this shed. I took a moment to collect my thoughts. I need a weapon of some sort, and this knife won’t do the job. Just outside I cut down a large branch and a few smaller ones, which I used to construct a simple bow. The next hour I took the time to sharpen the smaller branches to make a small dozen of arrows. Enough to keep adversaries at distance or hunt for small creatures. I practiced a few rounds, before strolling into the woods. My days as a sniper came in handy, the hunt for food didn’t last very long. A swine popped up from a large bush and before realising it was stared at, an arrow whistled through the air hitting the poor thing in the neck. Before nightfall, I was back in the cabin, next to a small fire, roasting the animal. With a filled belly, I had a good night sleep. Nothing was more true, the fire attracted someone or something. As I opened one eye, I saw something luring in the shadow of the western wall, just beside the door. I jumped up and charged in. The man lifted his hands to show me he was unarmed, so I did the same. We stared at each other for about a minute or two before speaking. I took initiative and it seemed we almost spoke the same language, his turned out to be the old, or even ancient, version of my native language. I invited him by the fire and gave him what was left of the piggy. His name was Fredrick, his eyes grew a size when I told him my name. Narbilu. Because that is the same name of the lost Lord of this region, Hemresa. (could it be?, did I travel back in time?). So I let the man talk for over an hour and my suspicions were correct. I am back in Historica, the time of my great grandfather after who I was named. All my senses sharpened and the rest in my head was gone. Dawn came quickly. I asked the man where to go to learn all about the Avalonia and its history. He promised to accompany me to Kaliphlin, a land far away, where the University of Petraea is. All knowledge is lodged there. We travelled for a month, I had a lot of new impressions, learned the way of Historica and blended in pretty easily. Maybe I will share this journey later with you. Fredrick somehow got me in the university, said his goodbyes, gave me a hand full of coins we earned on our way to Kaliphlin and left. We promised each other that we would meet back in Hemresa. A promise I can’t hold, if the university grants me intel how to travel back to Andromeda. Three whole weeks I stayed in the library of Petraea, reading all about the journey of my great grandfather, his role in Avalonia, Hemresa, his battles and where he disappeared to. Halfway the third week, in a dark corner of the library, I came upon a book about gateways, called “the portal to the unknown”. Could it be a way out? A quick scan of the content, made me decide to study it further. I snuck out, with the book under my clothes. It was no easy way out, guards everywhere, checking everyone before leaving, preserving their knowledge. I needed to wait until the shifts of the guards ended and security was at the lowest point, but I managed to pull it off. In the harbour I got on the first ship sailing for Avalonia. The captain was kind enough to drop me off on Hemresa for a few gold coins. The four day travel was useful time to read the book. The book described how to open a gate to whatever you think of. Sounds dark, unreliable. Still, it could be a way back to Andromeda, where my fellow Kawashita members count on me. Reading further, I come to the conclusion that it will be no easy task to perform. I need a hand full of supplies to craft a rod, but the hardest part will be finding a magic vein. After digging back in my mind about all the information I gathered about Hemresa, it popped to mind. Bow’s Arch was going to be the pride of Nar Bilu, a home town, a refuge, build on an ancient elven vein on the northeast side of the island. As expected most of the supplies were easy to find or buy. Except the emerald green stone. For a later concern, first I will try to find the location of where Bow’s Arch was supposed to be build before the Civil War. Knowing the elves still rule over Hemresa, I had to be careful. But when I strolled around the island I bumped into a few kids playing my great grandfather, a solid lead. I asked the small ones if they knew anything more about him, especially about the mystical place he was going to build. It turned out, I was close and for a small fee the little brats showed me the location. From a distance, because their parents told them never to walk upon Death Row, what it is called nowadays. With a pounding heart I walked the dusty part of the island, bones scattered all around, no living organisms and a single ruin were lit up by green, yellow and bluish sparkles. The magic vein, surrounded by emerald green marbles. I was thrilled, excited and humble all at once. I just couldn’t wait. The entrance of the ruin offered me a path down a stairs, where a trophy room awaited my arrival. As I sat on the floor with the book next to me, I started constructing the rod. I stood up with in one hand the rod and the other holding the book open at the page with the instruction how to open the gate. A little too enthusiastic I started to wield the rod and speak the phrases from the book. The earth started shaking, the floor cracked and my thoughts wandered off. Then it happened. Greenish glows, light beams sprouted out of the floor. Devastating screams filled the room. I was pushed down, blown back by ... ghosts, armed men with transparent faces. The gate closed when I stopped the murmuring. The creatures hovered along the ceiling till one stood still before me. He called me by name. Calling me Lord also. Instead of thinking about Andromeda, my mind wandered off to my great grandfather and his fallen soldiers. How I might be able to win Hemresa back for him, for our family. That thought caused not a gate back into the future, but a portal to the lost souls of Hemresa. To be continued....
  10. Location: E10 - Traig IV Tags: Spying, Building On a misty morning in the swamps of Traig IV, two Kawashita agents are out on patrol... Let's go back. It's cold out here. Sure. Hey, what's that? It's a giant... present? Well it is almost Christmas. Still... it's weird. Let's bring it inside! Or not. We don't know what it is or where it came from. Come on dude! It even has convenient carrying handles! Yes... too convenient. Oh well. Let's bring it inside! Yeah! I hope it fits through the doorway... Later, inside the base... I wonder what's inside it. Should we just open it now? Nah dude. Let's wait for the 25th, ya know, Christmas Day. It's just rude to open it before then. Alright. Let's discuss some important Kawashitan matters that should under no circumstances be overheard by the opposing corporations. Sounds good. Let's see, I just got a message in from Raven about our fleet movements for next week... Yes, tell me more... Thanks for looking! No extra shots this time. Mist idea comes from Dannylonglegs' Misty Patrol and the door from mccoyed's Kawashita Commissary. You'll be seeing that one again very soon...

  13. :: A leader lost – Part III :: :: Guinevere :: Astonished, I looked at the gate showing a Jules Verne like “Journey to the Centre of the Earth”. The temptation was pulling me towards the glowing centre of the portal. When I reached the portal at four feet the gravity pulled me further in and before I knew it a bright flash took me into a wormhole. Steaks of red, orange and yellow sucked me into a fifteen minute flight through nothingness, until my feet felt rocky soil. The lit stripes were replaced by a glowing sun. Blue sky everywhere, white clouds and the damped atmosphere pearled small drops on my harness. From my backpack I pulled the binoculars. The hi-tech gear didn’t seem to work. The energy was lost in the journey here. The same applied to every other piece of equipment I brought. All batteries and energy packs dried out. Even my plasma gun couldn’t fire a single shot. So I have to rely on my keen eyes and bare hands for protection. The small cliff that I was standing on, gave me an excellent view of the area. Small streams, green meadows, tall treelines and grey mountains. It looks like home, but prettier. Unimpaired. When I turned around to see what the gate would look like from this angle, there was only a silhouette of the portal. Stone carved, but no energy. No portal, no way back. What now?
  14. Location: G10 - Onix Tags: Civil, Building Note: If you haven't already please read Part 1 and Part 2 before this one... Thanks. Ugghhh... What happened?! To be frank... I shot you. Luckily it was on stun. I thought you were one of them. One of who? Who are you? What's going on?!? My name is Nate. Nate Goldwoski. I work as an engineer at this facility. I was servicing one of the power cores when an explosion shook the facility. The warning lights came on and I must have been knocked out cold. When I awoke... They were there. I'm not sure what they are. A mix between the living and the dead... but they're not human. Stanton, or whatever is left of him, seems to be their leader. I managed a daring escape! I was able to lock the monsters in the reactor room. It was close, but I made it. That's when I came to the lab and found you. I was trying to figure out what happened... I thought you were one of them. Sorry about that by the way. When I figured out you weren't, for a lack of a better term, a zombie, I brought you back here. I've been trying to send a distress signal but the system locked me out. Let's see if I can fix that... *whirr* *beep* *Manual override successful. Welcome Mr. O'Reilly.* There. I sent an SOS signal. Corporate should be sending a dropship very soon. Wait, what's that noise...? I hear it too. *crash* *bang* Uh oh. Where did he get a wrench?!? It doesn't matter. Run! TO BE CONTINUED!

I tried to run, I tried to hide from my past. It found me. This shouldn't have happened. It's a miracle Dr. Long managed to get us out. Both of us. We should be dead. I knew... I should have seen it before. I've been there before... at the station. I wanted to forget- forget. I won't see a psychiatrist. I can put it behind me, I've done it before. I will do it again. Corporate wasted no time getting me back in the field. I've been assigned to investigate reports of Kawashita activity on Raduon. Anything to keep my mind off the events of the last few days... technically the events of the last few years. That's enough of that. This is a mission log, not a diary! Better up the security... if this got into the wrong hands, my career might as well be over. I'd have to fake my death, change my name... Oh wait, I've already done that. Dammit, get back on track Jebediah! Pull it together. There's something. Looks like a Kawashita comms beacon. I could just blow it up... ...or bug the line. Much better. The information gained will be even more valuable than simply destroying the beacon. On a side note. Dr. Long made me wear that ridiculous blue spacesuit... didn't even match the time period. Some buffoon in charge of handling my regular uniform back in present day has misplaced my helmet, and I have to wear this stupid regulation one until they find it. Someone is going to have hell to pay when I get back to the Axle. End Log Entry #026 Extra photos and commentary in the spoiler.

  21. Challenge 2: Unknown menace Due to the recently discovered activity in the center of the galaxy, all corporations' governants asked their employees to start building a defense fleet. This fleet may contain any spaceship from small fighter jets to large battle cruisers. Rules for all categories: All rules in the General Rules thread apply unless otherwise. Players will earn credits according to their score. Entries won't reward resources or domination points. Your sigfig must be present in the build. The number of minifigs is unlimited, as long as they fit in the vessel(s). Entries must be at minifig scale. There is no size restriction. Note that challenge C has a minimum size restriction. Because the theme is about the vessel no bonuses will be awarded for job related builds. The challenge will run from July 12nd to August 30th. As long as it is still August 30th somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Note that there are different runtimes per category. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified from the challenge and will not be scored. Entries will be judged according to the General Rules. This challenge is open to all players of Andromeda's Gates, even if they joined EB or signed up for the game after the challenge has begun; the Andromeda's Gates staff, EB admins and moderators are not eligible to win prizes but may earn credits. All entries must be new creations, not posted anywhere else prior to being entered in the challenge. You may be asked by a staff member to change your entry if it is too similar to an earlier creation. All entries must be built from real LEGO or with Lego Digital Designer. No clone brands, no third-party custom parts. All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Andromeda's Gates subforum, the title prefixed by, "[Challenge 2][Cat X]". (For example, "[Challenge 2][Cat A] Vessel name".) Post pictures no larger than 1000x720, as specified in the EB Member Guidelines. You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects onone picture. All your other pictures may have no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited. All entries are considered WIPs (Works In Progress) until the deadline passes. Until the deadline has passed, you are allowed to change and improve your MOC. Alien builds: Aliens are allowed to compete in all three categories. Winning a category with an alien build will only award credits. Domination: Because this challenge is not related to a particular planet, no domination points will be awarded for each entry. Instead at the end of all three challenges the CEO of each corporation may point out a connected planet where the fleet is travelling to. The corporation receives 1 domination point for every build for the chosen planet. The alien build with the highest score may also choose a planet and subtract a domination point for every alien build made from the chosen planet. If multiple corporations are present, both loose the number of domination points to a minimum of 0. Determining winning corporation For each category, the corporation score is calculated by adding 0.2 point for each participant to the average of all the participant's scores. The winning corporation for category is the one with the highest score. Overall winner The corporation which scored most points, all categories scores added together, wins the challenge and will receive an additional: 50 gold, 50 copper and 50 mithril. Category A – The swarm Small to medium sized fighters and shuttles – most of the time one to three seated vessels. Restrictions: 1 to 3 seats maximum. Runtime: The challenge will run from July 12nd to August 2nd. As long as it is still August 2nd somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Judging: Entries will be judged between 1 and 10 Rewards: Winner will receive 50 credits, the corporation of the winner receives an additional 25 gold. 22. :: A04 - Mynderis :: The Terrestrial are worried about one of their covert planets they mine for awesomnium. They asked me and Koro to escort a small squadron of scouts to the surface and see where the threat is settling and conducting their research. Koro did a quick sweep of a spot where the Terrestrial could land their dropship. As the area was cleared I set foot on the steaming hot rock giving the sign in the com that the troops could arrive. The threat was no-where close to our current location. My scanners show a path between the lava streams leading 5 miles down south where the planet was violated by another corporation. Dropship:
  23. Location: H04 - Crofter's Ridge Tags: Civil, Science, Exploration [O-H04] Guard Duty Log of Jebediah O'Reilly, Entry #014 or #015, I lost count: I have been assigned to escort Dr. Short [Everyone calls him Dr. Not-long behind his back, just don't tell him that] and his team to the surface of Crofter's Ridge as they gather field data. There have been reports of heightened alien activity around the core worlds and HQ wants to make sure nothing happens to the doctor and his team. [O-H04] Guard Duty Here is Dr. Not-long himself. (Sorry for the blurry photo ) [O-H04] Guard Duty Unfortunately not all of Dr. Not-long's associates share his same passion for scientific endeavours. [O-H04] Guard Duty They appear to be setting up some sort of science-y device. Whatever it is, it must be important, because it takes two full tanks of awesomenium to power it up. Well, that's all for now. It's been pretty uneventful so far, but I think I spy some scorpions watching us from beyond the waterfall... End log [O-H04] Guard Duty [O-H04] Guard Duty [O-H04] Guard Duty Builder's Notes: This week was a lot of fun to build, as I had a lot of time to play around with this to get it exactly how I wanted it. The waterfall took a bit of fiddling to get right, but I think it turned out well. Well, thanks for looking! Comments and criticisms are welcome!
  24. Location:G10-Onix Tags: Building, Spying, Science If you have not already... Please read Part 1 before this build. Thanks! What the heck happened here?!? Maybe one of these computers still works... Sweet! Let's see if there's any surviving surveillance footage... Log date 759, this is Dr. Andrew Stanton. My research on scaling down the GATE drives is finally complete. Two top ranking Octan executives are arriving soon to witness the first test of my remarkable new technology. Wait, here they are now! This is Dr. Stanton signing off. Welcome gentlemen! I assume your journey was pleasant? Cut the pleasantries Stanton. We're here to see the GATE, not to socialize. We've invested a lot of time and money into your little project. It had better work. Very well. If you would just follow me down these steps... The work we have done here is really quite remarkable. We have downscaled the GATE drive to a point where it can effectively teleport a single minifigure anywhere, anytime. No longer will massive cores powered by tens of thousands barrels of Awesomenium be able to transport an entire cruiser into a general sector. No, this, operating on a fraction of the resources required, can send a single subject anywhere. The possibilities are limitless! Send a Special Forces agent behind enemy lines undetected? Of course! Your scientists need a sample from a far-off planet? Instead of sending an entire team, just beam them over there! Yes, yes, that's great, but does it actually work? See for yourself. One of our top pilots, Mr. Quinn Anderson, will be making a jump up to one of our stations orbiting Onix. And that is only the beginning... Let's do this! Capsule is locked in and ready. Final preparations are complete. We are go for launch in 10... 9... 8... 7... My life's work is nearly complete... What could go wrong? 6... 5... Sir? Something's wrong! What? What is it?! 4... 3... 2... Abort! ABORT! I can't! It's too far in the countdown! 1... ARGGG! What's going on! Shut it down! SHUT IT DOWN! What have you done!? *muffled explosion, screams, and sounds of crackling fire* Recording ends. Oh my... I have to get this back to HQ. Wait a second... I only saw one body! Where are... the rest of them? You're not going anywhere... TO BE CONTINUED!
  25. Location: G04 - Fractor V Tags: Exploration, Land/Water Vehicle [O-G04] The Watchers Log of Jebediah O'Reilly, Entry #019: I was en route to a scientific outpost on Fractor V with an important shipment of Mithril for Dr. Kodan Black when my transporter snapped a tread. As I'm naturally paranoid, I immediately suspected MANTIS saboteurs attempting to intercept the shipment. I better keep an eye out for any suspicious characters hanging around the garages... The sooner I can get this tread fixed the better. This planet gives me the creeps... I feel like the trees are watching me... End Log Entry #019 Thanks for taking the time to take a look at my build! Comments and criticisms welcome.
