  1. You got to remember that they’ve already got the Corvette licence with Speed Champions so it’s easy to male from that aspect. do we think this will have a b model?
  2. Well you can’t please everyone all the time ... especially as none of these sets are specifically designed for us lot :) I’ll be getting the Porsche and Vette as much because I’m a car nut and I see some good parts there too
  3. Well I was liking the vette as it didn’t look like a bad small scale car and I like the new arch piece. Im sure a kid would be ok with how it looks
  4. I like the Vette. Those arches are going to be great for smaller scale models. I’m glad it’s still Technic built and not System so I can allow it the obvious short comings on shape. Love the engine on it too. Hopefully the rear lights are representative enough of the real car Isn’t that just a blatant recolour
  5. Interesting to read that these are new arches too as the Vettes arches are definitely new with the single stud on the front and rear faces
  6. I hope the white arches aren’t printed as I’d love to create a white car using them. At least with the orange Porsche the tears aren’t printed. as to the headlights surely a trans-clear oval disc would be better or even some flex-axles to show the lamp outline. You need to retain the quad lights as that’s Porsche’s light style but I’m sure a better cover/surround could be created
  7. Anyone tried to work out the size of this Porsche when compared to the “UCS” one?
  8. I do like the Porsche apart from the canopy pieces for the headlight covers. But It’s got me sold. Waiting to see the same sort of video for the Vette now
  9. The name of the speed boat B model is a Hydroplane. These are Extremely fast “boats” that skim along the surface. You can find lots of racing videos online of them. Also Bluebird was a Hydroplane (but jet powered)
  10. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikorsky_S-64_Skycrane
  11. Precisely my problem too. I’ve got a load of aircraft types I’d like to build and I don’t want to go building down the wrong route! Hoping this starts soon as I’ve got a few days holiday to use up this year.
  12. It’s the first colour on their chart. I was talking about Corvette Racing Yellow. To me that’s the same as a Ferrari being Red or a Merc being Silver
  13. I wonder why they went with orange for the Vette, as a few people have said Yellow is the colour of Vettes and it’s not as it we don’t have that in the colour palette. I bet it’s down to parts and colours again
  14. Now having followed the clues in the posts above, I’m not too sure about the Vette but we all know how preliminaries and final sets can differ a lot (24hr race car). Looking forward to seeing what the Porsche looks like and it’s scale and functions compared to the UCS one. Hopefully the Vette will be better in the final set and then I’ll get both. I see the speed champions brands are shown too which I’m hoping includes some more GT3/GTE cars for my desk at work the Vette actually looks a decent size based off the panels used
  15. Have you seen the creator sets? There’s some commonality with Technic sets as there’s a jet with its wings swept forward like the helicopter b model.
  16. How about making the stepper operate by pushing on panels of the bodywork? So for example push down on the left side of the bonnet to change gears 1 way and push the right side for the other?
  17. Perhaps they mean the BrickLink afol moc competition thingy. looking forward to an aviation themed competition, I can come up with a whole host of flying machines !
  18. @Thirdwigg are you doing this in just brick or LDD too? so the gear at the front it the gearbox controller at the moment? Where do you want it to be?
  19. I’ve put other builds on hold waiting for the next competition. :)
  20. The campaign is now complete so that’s why the page now says “complete”. Email no 10 said that it was now complete and heading to production stage and that sets should arrive at people’s homes mid January
  21. i like the powerboat but the police car is just weird. Looks like a police car married to an F1/roborace car. looking forward to better pics of the bigger sets
  22. I like the helicopter but not sure about the jet. A swing-wing aircraft normally goes from straight to swept back wings, going from swept forward to swept back wings is just odd and wouldn’t give any advantages. You can do swept forward, nasa had a jet years ago like this. are other boxes now out in the wild?
  23. Yes but there hasn’t been a Technic model that’s made it through ideas, they’re all system built. if it doesn’t make it to be an ideas set would you be willing to share instructions here?
