And I kind of disagree. We went 4 years without the Toa Nuva (while the Metru and Ignition story happened). While I love the Inika and Metru, it was frustrating to see so little of the Toa Nuva. I remember when they briefly showed up in 2006 in the books, only long enough to be beat by the Pirahka. By the time they returned in 2008 it seemed a little late to the story.

Well I'd like to see more characters... But in retrospect Gen 1 kind of introduced way to many characters. The original Toa Mata were only there 2001, 2002-3, and 2008. Despite being the main Toa, they missed half the franchise. If Gen 2 ever introduced a second Toa team it would be nice to see them alternate yearly with the main Toa to keep both teams in the spotlight.

Well done! Color is spot on and makes a good representation of the last of Santa Fe power! My only critique is when I saw the nose I assumed the model was an EMD GP series locomotive and not a GE B40. If you can tweak the nose a bit it will look a little more accurate.

Xbox vs PlayStation: Why are the debates so heated?
xboxtravis7992 replied to xboxtravis7992's topic in Culture & Multimedia
It's funny because I don't like holding PS controller's. But I feel that is part of muscle memory, my hands know Xbox controllers because I have been playing on it since a kid. I never owned a PS as a kid. In change those who have played a lot of PS will not enjoy Xbox controllers for the same reason -
Xbox vs PlayStation: Why are the debates so heated?
xboxtravis7992 replied to xboxtravis7992's topic in Culture & Multimedia
All hail the Grand Lego System! Heck with the right pieces even "Freaking Galidor" is compatible with the newest Lego parts. -
So something that I've been wondering about: Why is it anytime videogame newscones out, the comments turn into a debate between Xbox and PS owners? It always turns comment sections into this: PS-Owner: "But this game will suck like all Xbox games. Better games on PlayStation." Xbox-Owner: "No the PlayStation blows. Gran Turismo sucks." PlayStation-Owner: "Kinect sucks, Halo sucks, and COD looks great on PS4" Xbox-owner: "You suck" Wii-Owner: "FPS consoles suck, Mario all the way" And the debate continues for 1000 more posts... So, why? I am an Xbox fan (probably obvious in that I've used it in my online usernames since I joined BZpower back in 2006) but I'd never attack a PlayStation owner just because they bought a different system. I can't imagine these debates are just brand loyalty either, they are really viscous and are likely a bad combination of flaming and trolling. Still though, why? I figured I'd ask this here since Eurobricks is one of the few fan communities that is CIVIL in their discussions. Any thoughts on the matter?

Just noticed a member who joined the Star Wara forums posting a link to his YouTube channel asking "please subscribe." Then the MODs promptly delete the link, locked the thread, and put the member on "taking a break" mode. It was very blunt and direct, but it is understandable why it had to be done. I don't want Eurobricks to be overrun with "plz subscribed" requests.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
xboxtravis7992 replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Either or. The good thing about the First Order is all the sets they are in are for sell right now. Furthermore all their Minifigures are unified in their design; no unneeded variatians. The Galactic Empire though is very classic. They are harder to collect though since the stormtroopers have several variants over the past 16 years (that makes me feel old) of Lego Star Wars. But they are very iconic, and just look like Star Wars. Or just save up money and collect both. :) Over several years of collecting I have a "decent" Galactic Empire. Not a Legion, but a good sized squad with a Tie-Fighter, an AT-AT, and a few sporadic allies. It's not always needed to have x100 troops; I only have three stormtroopers, with a single shadow trooper, several snowtroppers, two biker scouts (old ones too), an AT-AT pilot, a few officers, a Tie-Pilot, a Navy trooper, two Death Star gunners, a pair of imperial guards, and the battle damaged Darth Vader. It's not a large x100 army of identical figures, but it is diverse enough to represent the Empire at its worst :) -
Yeah MOCpages is still the strongest place to tell a story with a MOC. Brickshelf or Flickr can only do that if they are linked to a forum such as this. Interesting about the life cycle of a MOC. One thing I have noticed about MOCpages is every post I put on there feels like a competition to get to "the front-page." Sometimes it's hard when I do a good MOC, post and share it to groups; only to see it overpaced in popularity by some KFOL's post(recent examples "The Insurgency" and "Any Bionicle story that the kid uses his bedroom as a stand-in for Mata-Nui"). Since that is frustrating, I have begun to post in multiple places. The guys on Eurobricks are very responsive towards MOC builds and can easily praise and add constructive criticism. A lot of AFOLs post Everywhere; MOCpages. Brickshelf, Flickr, Eurobricks, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and BZpower. They gain publicity because they build something cool and put it in the spotlight. One more comment about MOCpages. When I first joined it was obvious there was once a more closely knit group of AFOLs there, a " Virtual LUG" per-se. Now the only people still active there are the people who are still on to regulate the website. Furthermore the owner of MOCpages (Sean Kenney) us not a "hobbiest" like us; he uses it to promote his job. While I admire Sean since he is one of the few professional Lego builders who associates with the laymen-FOLs like us; the way he runs MOCpages shows that it is his side focus, since he is really busy doing other stuff (I.e. making money with Lego art).

Yes it is shocking that Lego gave us a clone in EVERY FREAKING color; except for a large amount in basic white and 501st blue. I really feel like the "custom clonez" fad is dying down now that Ep.7 is out and The Clone Wars has ended. I remember that while The Clone Wars was still on TV that every other day a bazillion custom clones in sharpie marker clad bodies showed up on MOCpages. I feel like the very strange color choices Lego has given us with the Clones in the sets was a reflection of this. And it is sad because we don't really have that much 501st clones other than Rex, and a few normal phase 2 troops; and those clones are basically the most featured in the entire saga! Anyway; on to other Star Wars sets I want to see: Star Tours- The Star Tours ride at several Disney theme parks was Disney's first collaboration with Lucasfilm (excluding the work they did on the landspeeder in Ep. 4). Fittingly the ride Star Tours 2: The Adventures Continue was the last Disney/Lucasfilm collaboration before the two merged. A Lego set based on this ride would be great; a large vehicle with opening doors; an R2 droid socket, multiple seats, and blaster canons. A ground crew set could be included with the vehicle; featuring droids and their workstations. Character Statues- Yoda, R2-D2 and Darth Maul got them; why not do more? Imagine a large scale Lego Darth Vader bust for the serious collector. Legends- I know that the Legends stories have been pushed under the rug since the Disney merger; but we seriously need Grand Admiral Thrawn. Enough said. AoTC- Airspeeder chase and Droid Factory; both kind of silly scenes; but they just are BEGGING to be made in Lego. The airspeeder chase was done in 2002; and was a standout set for that era; imagine what it would look like now? SNL- Starkiller Base Employee Common Area- I know it is a long shot to ever be a Lego set; but don't we all want a Lego "Matt [Not Kylo Ren] the Radar Technician"? Cloud City- I know with this forum I am just preaching to the choir :) Bring us Cloud City! There are my $0.02

So I know that there has been a lot of talk about what needs to be done for Lego to really push Train sets again; and a lot of talk has mentioned the Lego Ideas platform. Recently for the first time; a train related proposal has made it to 10,000 votes on Lego Ideas (a Modular Train Station). So my question is; should our community make a push to get every high quality train project through Ideas? Maybe if at least one train thing gets into review each review period; we will be more likely to see a Lego train come from Ideas. I want to link to every Lego Ideas topic that involves trains that I can think of, but I am asking this first to see if it is okay with the Mods to form a directory to those projects. Furthermore, any train projects on Ideas you know of that you think could use our help?

Mega Bloks + Kre-o as one company = bad news for TLG?
xboxtravis7992 replied to AmperZand's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't know if the merger of Mega and Kreo would create a huge competitor for Lego. Lego dominates toy aisles in the western world; with Megablocks sort of sitting on the corner of the shelf. Mega does have brands which if they were designed better could be a serious threat to Lego. Take Halo for example. I don't buy Megablock's Halo sets due to their bad design and quality; however if the quality was the same as Lego's I would reconsider. Add to that the fact Halo sets come with in game Req Packs which add unlockable traits, weapons, and vehicles; to Halo 5's game play. Being an owner of Halo 5 the thought of a free Req Pack sounds very interesting. So if Mega's products were better I would really consider those Halo toys... (Some less "purist" AFOL's such as Jangbricks already seem to be buying Mega's Halo and Call of Duty sets) And then Kreo has a few other licenses as well; especially of note those based on other Hasbro products. (Imagine had Lego Star Wars not happened in 1999 we probably would have Kreo Star Wars instead due to Hasbro's relation to Lucasfilm ) Unlike Megablocks though; I rarely have seen Kreo on toy shelves other than a few Star Trek products. So as stands; I don't feel Kreo or Mega are strong competitors to Lego; but they have potential to be. A merger could either be depending on how its handled 1) more of the same or 2) a real game changer in the world of construction toys. And as mentioned, Lego might improve if they no longer feel like they are the king of the hill anymore...- 21 replies

Lego won't have enough Bricks for Everyone this Christmas
xboxtravis7992 replied to kermit's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I noticed that after the holiday season was finished all the toy sections looked really bare. I checked a Target in Salt Lake City Utah; most of the Star Wars, Superheroes, and Bionicle sets were just gone. Minecraft and Ninjago I think were missing to; but since they aren't themes I follow I don't remember. Lego was the only toy aisle in that store that looked so bare. Mind you it was a few days before 2016 started so maybe they wanted to clear some stock; but still.... I miss the days when I could find 2-3 year old sets at local stores; now I can hardly find the Lego Movie sets that were released in 2015. -
What special Kanohi/Masks do you own?
xboxtravis7992 replied to Logan McOwen's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Orange Vahi, and two Copper Hunas (US Version). Maybe Toa Norik's Mask counts to. I also have a trans-red Kaukau and a trans-white Kaukau; a flip-flops gold Hau and a flip-flop silver Pakari. I guess the 2015 gold Toa masks could count but they aren't really rare. Same with the Mask if Creation. Cool looking, but not that rare. I also missed on a few masks. I bought Hapka's book collection hoping to get the Infected Hau Nuva; and I got Lhikan's Hau Metru instead :(- 42 replies

This photo from James Belmont (moderator of the Rails Through the Wasatch page on Facebook) shows what could be a more flashy scheme for UP 844; her greyhound two tone paint: http://www.railpictures.net/photo/315641/ The problem though with UP 844 in Lego form is with the driver wheels. When Lego introduced the drivers with the Emerald Night they made the molds so they molded 2 flange wheels and one blind wheel together. That is why most steam trains we have in Lego form have come as trains with six drivers; since the mold produces exactly 3 wheels per set (hence why the Toy Story train comes with 2 blind wheels despite the fact the train is a 4-4-0 and doesn't use those wheels in the final build). This creates an issue for any 8 wheel driver train ever being seen in Lego form. I wish Lego could solve this since most of my favorite steam trains have 8 drive wheels!

Worst movie I have seen; "Troll 2" famous for perhaps literally being the worst movie ever made. An Italian director who wrote a script in English for a horror movie that was about Goblins yet named "Troll 2" hoping to trick unknowing movie goers to believe the film was the sequel to a slightly successful film called "Troll." The plot of "Troll 2" proceeds with the ghost of a dead Grandpa throwing Molotov Cocktails at Goblins. Following is a witch who very sultrily eats corn on the cob, a group of teenagers on a stupid trip to chase his girlfriend who went on a family vacation; and a little kid who pees on a table to prevent his family from being magically turned into vegetables. It is as hilariously bad as it sounds!

I'll comment before this thread is merged. I don't really want more clones other than basic white armor Phase 1 troops and the 501st Legion. Everything else feels unneeded. But I would rather have more clones than say battle droids, I have way to many of those. I do want a Re-released pack with the rebel troopers from 2007. I missed out on that.

I've seen the replica Jupiter operating last year(its my current wallpaper on my computer, the engine smells like a BBQ pit too since they use Hickory Wood as fuel). I supported the Lego Ideas project that features it and 119. I also want more people to help that project to, the more trains which enter review on Lego Ideas the better! But while I love both trains for their historical value (and I live close to were the replica units run at); I would rather see something from the late steam era. I also agree the finished model would be similar to the Toy Story and Constitution trains. That's why Sava's new 10-wheeler project is appealing to me. BLACK, that's a proper steam train color.

Some old Bionicle sets were done (from 2005-2007) in System bricks with some very large and ornate masks acting as gateways. The RC train set had a very large pre-molded nose. The Galidor theme (that short lived oddity,) had a large spaceship set which was mostly just one large piece. In fact Galidor was MOSTLY large pieces.
